dude, i'm stuck on the extra wrist beat. I just don't know what to do after it goes behind your back :S. Do you change your hand possition on the stick?
You need to strech your wrist a lot before trying that one.
Then bring the "pinky" side of the staff down in front of you while keeping the plane vertical! as shown on the pause pict of the video, your arm is twisted and your elbow is in front of you, so your body is also a bit twisting helping the whole mouvement. Then release the twist using the momentum of the staff to come back in the first position. Hope that will help! good luck and keep it up !
i'm holding the staff gently between the thumb and index. You need to focus on the thumb side of your staff, it should ALWAYS stay in front of you, as the end of this side draws a circle in front of you.Hope that will help! good luck and keep it up !
these are some briliant staff tuts but the only thing i need to work on is my wrist flexibility. Also, an idea i have is if you were to have a part in the vid that has a view from the front so we can see the plane control.
very good vid, but you could record better back moves (back transfer is good) but here back spin could be showed better :P, very helpful tutorials, the best i've seen
You are, call it "figures 8" or "2 beats" or whatever :) it's the same move, one spin in the inside of the arm and another on the outside, that makes a figure 8 ;)
Clear and good staff tutorial! After the first moves and minutes it's clearer to understand what do you do.
Thanks!

how do you do it with fingers?

I tried to learn it but i don't even understand the 1 beat movement. What exactely are you doing with your fingers?
Zeziko1 3 years ago
None of the moves in this tutorial involve finger rolls, just gripping the staff between the thumb and pointer finger.

The First two beats look like a figure 8.
Can't tell if I am right or wrong

3 beats is hard...
ClearofMind08 3 years ago
you just must spin staff with fingers, not only wrist
