Ghulam Mohd was as good or better then Naushad, S&J, C Ramchandra etc but for some reason he is not idolized like them. Lata indeed had great voice and a great singer. I can not say that about Asha. Asha could sing because she was trained but she did not have that melodious voice like Lata or Surriaya. Unfortunately Lata and Asha dominated the playback singing world that deprived some great talents to be pushed aside. When I listen to Suman kalyanpur she embodies all the Mangeshkar sisters.

@Bajaury I beg to differ. Not every singer is the 'best'. The term best means at the top, which clearly shows that every one can not be at the top. As a listner I would rank them as follows:

1. Surriaya- she had all the philharmonic orchestra in her vocal chors

2. Noor Jehan- she was the best until the middle fiftees. Then her vocal chords split.

3. Lata- she sand some faboulous songs but again her vocal c hords deteriorated in mid-sixties

4. Shamshad, Aasha, Geeta and so on.

The heart of a lover,when broken in love; finds no solace anywhere.It has to face the tormenting grief,the pain,and the distress,that follows as a natural consequence.Still deeper is the pain,when grief is contained and not expressed. The involuntary tears that flow,however, expose the hidden grief--yet,at least, provide relief, only a little though.

A fine composition by GM and soulfully sung by Lata Ji--touches the heart.

Rehma u again come up with a splendid song of Lata Mangeshker. Billion thanks for your efforts. Dil ki Basti is a S M Yousuf production who assigned his assistant Wahid Qureshi for direction. Wahid Qureshi was also a lyricist, story, dialogue and screenplay writer. He associated with SM Yousuf for a long period. This beautiful song is written by Wahid Qureshi. I also suggest another song of this film by Lata - Aag lage jag dekhe, dil ka jalna kise dikhayen.
