@bennett5058 I wouldn't because you never know how strong the cinder blocks are the could crack and collapse. I good pair of floor jacks is between 10-20 dollars.
also if you car does have a lift point yes it is okay to use the jack on the lift points but you should use rubber flaps otherwise the lifts points bends too
actually its different for vehicles some cars you can't raise them in the area as this video shows you otherwise you will bend the fuck out of your fender or just that area

Why don't you show where exactly is that lift point? Without knowing that precise area, then this video is USELESS!

does anyone have an opinion of whether or not it's okay to use cinder blocks instead of jack stands?

@bennett5058 a pair of good 3 ton jack stands are 15 bucks at most its much safer than cinder blocks go safe instead of cheap

Thats a Danish made AC jack, very high quality expensive jacks that aren't available in the US anymore.

Can you explain how to purge air from a 3 ton floor jack.

My manual says to turn the lift handle counter-clockwise all the way and pump the handle rapidly then turn clockwise when finished!

I think you mean that "it's quite a bit MORE than what the vehicle weighs" when talking about the jack's lifting capacity.
