Is anyone else getting major system lag trying to run this game at all? I play it and my FPS drop rapidly in certain parts, it shouldn't as it's an old game and my system is more than capable of playing it.

I think that had to do with the queen (or the Matriarch as they call it in that game) being ancient.

Nah, that's no excuse, the Queen in the first AVP movie was also old as hell and she was able to move around.

Either way, it was indeed quite lame. The rest of the game was awesome, IMO.

Awesome game! Its been ages since I completed this! This is actually much better than the new AVP 2010 (aka AVP3). Interestingly I did not remember the classic chair-alien (from the original Alien film 1979) in the chamber @ 0:25. This one also makes a brief appearance in the 1st episode of AVP 1999 by rebellion.

@REXXORDER avp3s multiplayer tries to be scary but really isent after yoru first couple of playthroughs, after an alien grabs you from behind for the 10th time, it becomes expected and its not as scary, after that, the multiplayer in the third just seems really slow and empty =/

No, it's not a Predator. In the first Alien movie, the Alien eggs were found on an ancient spaceship belonging to a dead race known as the "Space Jockeys" or "Pilots".

They were breeding Aliens (they were responsible for populating the planet with them), but were presumably wiped out when the Aliens got loose.

What you're in at the end is a crashed Pilot ship that was infested by an Alien Hive.

But no. The deceased Alien was a "Space Jockey", an extinct race of giant humanoids that had been breeding Xenomorphs. If you look carefully, you can see that the Jockey has what appears to be an elephant-like trunk on its face, rather than a Predator's mandibles.

Predators, Xenomorphs and Jockeys are all different species.
