  • I have a great feeling i'm one... The depressive kind of Bipolar is one of the things as well.. my mom and dad are Bipolar... and so I guess I am? I mean they are the aggressive bipolar... Eh.. I really don't know..

  • Great video, thanks for getting the word out about this mental illness.

  • Whoo for Effexor, triliptol, and abilify!!

  • I'm on 10 mg. Of Clozapine and 2 mg. of Risperdol and I am stabilized for the most part.

  • Yea, I have this w/ multiple cases of PTSD & about 10 other disorders, but I'm tryin' to find answers to stay out of the psych wards, better my relationships w/ others, & stay positive.... If I find anythin' that's helpful I'll try to remember to post it on here. The best I can say I've felt while suffering through this is to take up martial arts to get centered & feel more confident, plus change your environment(s) to as much positivity as you can, even if it means getting on disability & movin

  • ' out to a board and care place & surrounding yourself w/ positive people to live with through trial & error on different living situations, but those are some big factors right there to start with. If there's anything else I can think of that'll help anyone else going through this, etc. then I'll try my best to remember to post it on here so we can all grow. Many times your favorite hobbies, distracting yourself into the positives is a good way to go

  • what song?~~

  • they say my schizoaffective disorder is induced by drugs

  • Are you totally sure that medication is the only that works? fire isn't the only thing that can give warm to a human body =)

  • Excellent intepretation of schizo-affective disorder. The doctor told me I had an abnormal blood flow in my brain. Needless to stay it was the beginning of a learning process as to what I am today schizo-affective

  • erm, can anyone give me some advice? Im 15 and have recently been having bouts of paranoia, anxiety, depression, shaking, feeling cold (when not actually cold), etc. about 2 - 3 times a day.

    Why or what is this?

  • @PowderedAsh it could be an anxiety attack, is it triggered by anything?

  • @joshmonty1 Yes, they were anxiety attacks triggered by paranoia and depression. Been doing better recently, but its still there unfortunately.

  • Extremely annoying song.

  • Prenatal influenzae or more well known preinstalled spyware are mostly observable as a form of temporary insanity at an early age as an imaginary friend, when temporary becomes chronic is when they can be medicated mostly refered to as a consitent auditory hallucination for longer than 3 months or to the usa government a period lasting longer than 12 months can be debilitating and they will provide you with government assistance, oddly the suicide rate for schizophrenia drops when it pays

  • Any other soldiers here been diagnosed with MDD or schizoaffective?

  • 5 years since i came into mental health services, but still not diagnosis, no nothing. my doctor doesnt like to diagnose, but it would help me understand better... starting to believe i may be shizoaffective. i have symptoms of schizophrenia (hallucinations, delusions) but no flat affect or disorganised speech. i have major anxiety, i am pretty secluded from society. i have "mixed episodes" basically, like a depression, but with the hyperactivity of manic. makes me rage, and upset. :( help

  • the music sux!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can read fairly fast but this didn't give me time to read. I give this an F.

  • I'm scared to get angry that's why I don't wanna being around other people in my life in my opinion, cuz when i get angry i lose control quickly cuz I got a low patience span and am labeled "defiant", and I have adreniline. When I get mad I don't mean to but I go for the person's throat and try to stab with my nails hard while squeezing the neck and I can't stop myself. I can see but I can't stop. I'm scared to get angry becuz of that.

  • I am concerned for my daughter who is 15 now, just been diagnoised with this. Trying to learn all I can

  • @Darkangel76888 im the other side... my family have to deal with my illness. i just want to be treated normally. thats the most important thing. my family want me to talk to them and be open. but when i do... they try to hide it, but i see it in their eyes... they are terrified! and it makes me feel worse :(

the most important thing, just love your daughter!!! it means alot when people just ask how your doing from time to time and want to share their time with you...

  • @Darkangel76888 if you want to private message me id be happy to help. i dont mind talking openly if you have any questions, would love to help. hope everything works out

  • I wanted to say thank you as a diagnosed schizo-affective since 18. I have a hard time because most bastards are too lazy to try and understand. again, thanks for the info.

  • See a chiropractor! :-)

  • Im on meds for chronic anxiety and depression...is that considered schizioaffective? my bro has schizoprenia and bipolar

  • I have bipolar and schizophrenia, does that make me Schizoaffective?

  • Well if someone is interested I have this disorder, I fuck, I eat , I watch tv, I work not as much as you, I cook , I eat, I travel, I think, feel, love and plan things. Finally I don t hate destiny any more for putting this illnes up on me :)

I m not real an usual person but I get by.;:)

  • Why this song?

  • What is the name of this song/band?

  • I`m 21 and I have Schizoaffective disorder and an IQ of 80. Because of this, I`m only living a semi-dependent life when all I want is to live a complete independent life. Do you have any idea what it`s like to rely on other people to do the simplest things for you?

  • @Justinfhtube i am the same way to i am 24 and i live on my own but i depend on my mom to help my do everything and take me everywhere without her id be lost

  • I believe if people need psychiatric drugs they should use them, it's not our say if it's okay. If it helps them that's great. It just isn't a solution or a cure. Anyways thanks for making this video though it was hard to concentrate on the facts with the Plain White T's song! DAMN! Mine I guess started when I was younger, I was 14 when the changes began.

  • noone listen to medmatic. psychiactric drugs save lives and let schizophrenics live relatively normal lives. the negative stuff is well worth the positive benefits. psychiatrists save lives. noone with schizophrenia and on the right medication would say that psychiatry should be outlawed. we would be a lot worse off without shrinks and drugs. i for one, and speaking as a patient, am grateful for both.

  • Please go to Yahoo and type in the phrase "Horrible Truth About Psychiatric Drugs" into their search to find a report that reveals the truth about theee drugs that no psychiatrist will tell you. Also do the search with the phrase "Documented Proof Psychiatric Drugs Shorten Lifespan". Be sure to include the quotes to narrow the search so you find the intended research paper on these drugs/ The drugs promote suicide and violence not prevent, cause impotence, no libido and make you fat disphoric.

  • Schizoaffective Disorder

  • I am 39 and have been ill since I was 15. I have a wonderful doctor (psychiatrist) who has helped me immensely. I was correctly diagnosed 5 years ago and have had fewer episodes now that I am on the right medications. I wish people would make the distinction between psychiatry and psychology. Psychology is essentially talk therapy. All the talk in the world isn't going to help you with this illness. I speak from experience. (I am having problems posting so forgive me for any overlaps...:-)

  • Thanks...

  • i agree with all your information my schizoaffetive disorder started when i was 19 i guess it was not active until i join the military and all that stress i went through there made it active well now i am feeling very good i have no bad symptoms the only bad this is that i have to depend on seroquel to sleep and since i started that drug i have gained 60 pounds.

  • that was some very good information now i know that i probably got schizoaffetive disorder from my mother.

  • I do find it sad for many reasons I'd like you all to think about though that the icon of biological psychiatry (Fuller Torrey) recently declared to the medical community (He's not a scientist) and had published in psychiatric literature (as many of his things are) that the structural brain abnormality for schizophrenia had been found, making it a legitimate brain disease like multiple sclerosis (continueing in next comment)

  • and shortly after scientists discovered through experiment that those same structural brain abnormalities were in fact caused by the drugs used to treat schizophrenics, as they were recreated in monkeys. This is the way psychiatry has always been, and why it should be outlawed. Schizophrenia is only a clinical and societal impression and no I am not a scientologist, and neither are many of the people you may find at the top of this argument so let's forget lord xenu for a moment and think.

  • Read "Blaming the brain" By Elliot Valenstein (Ph.d neuroscientist) for a good explanation of how the biological psychiatry profression got here, "Mad in America" by Robert whitaker a general idea of how psychiatry has been practiced through the ages and today, "Madness and civilization" by Michel Foucault for some historical perspectives of how we've got here and anything by Thomas Szasz for some modern, political and analogical perspective (You can just read his wikipedia article)

  • obviously you don't suffer from mental illness

the meds only help some people and each person needs a diff med

i have schizophrenia and the meds dont help me unfortunatly

so in a wierd kind of way i would agree that we should get rid of psychiatry

  • It took more than 10 years of more than 34 different med and even more combos of the meds, but I was finally able to get a cocktail that has eased the voices for 7 months. I'm grateful for my outpatient dr who kept trying. My inpatient Dr is a dork!

  • Basically this is just some text taken from wikipedia, and it's still wrong. Read blaming the brain by elliot valenstein, anything by szasz or foucault, healey, whittaker, and I'm sure many others, and know that the only ever declared organic abnormalities found for schizophrenia have been scientifically discovered and verified as results of treatment (drugs and psychosurgery) and that to date there is no scientific pathology known by scrupulous medical standards.

  • Hello, I have only slept about 10 hours in about a month. They say I got bipolar disorder type 1. But the other year some doctor forced me to hospital by handcuffs/police. They said I might have schizo affective disorder. Could you explain the difference between that and Bipolar?

  • Yeah Bipolar disorder is basically a cycle between a very high energy manic state and a really low state of depression. Sometimes the emotional swings can be so extreme and radical, you start to develop delusions, auditory and visual hallucinationsm and, in extreme cases, complete psychotic breaks. A psychotic break means you can no longer tell the difference between your delusions/hallucinations and reality. That is schizoaffective.

  • ive been on treatment for 6 years...i am 36 years old and my first symptoms didnt show until i was 12 but i went through something tramatic 6years ago and well here i am all medicated to the eye balls...so i understand what you are all going through...:)

  • I have been diagnosed as Schizoaffective after years of mental health treatments and a hospitalization. Just wanted to say thanks for the good info.

  • your welcome i was diagnosed at age 13 im 27 now

  • Good to know I'm not alone. I have had mental health problems since I was a teen as well. I am now 25, and on enough drugs to anesthetise an elephant, which my psychiatrist says is what keeps me out of the hospital. :/

  • @BIGDAWG1231213 I was diagnosed at age 5 I'm now 19. It's crazy how far we have come.

  • @BIGDAWG1231213 I've lately got out of a depression period of my bi-polar but whats weird is that I have been hearing voices they sound so real and scare me sometimes I think they are real they tell me i am an idiot and should go kill myself....Any thoughts on what I have? I've been diagnosed with Bi-polar OCD and ADHD I rapid talk go with out sleep sometimes have unorganized thoughts and talking not sure if I am schizo-affective or not I just need answers I feel horrible.

  • @BIGDAWG1231213 .............I forgot to put this in meh last comment but also people can read my mind.

  • nice song

  • thanks
