I absolutely love Doug Jones!! He is perfect for all charismatic and dynamic characters that help keep the movie together and keeps your attention!! He is so awesome!!
Pan creeped me out so much. Even Pale-Man didn't get close. Very good actor.. love his gestures, mimics, sheer body movements as Pan.. even if it's creepy as hell.
I want Doug Jones to take the role of Pinhead in the next Hellraiser sequel (unfortunately, the remake has already gone out of hand, but then, it was done entirely without Clive Barker anyway).
Doug is such an outgoing-friendly guy who cares about his fans, and art just the same.
I def respect him for that, Pan's Labyrinth still 1 of the best movies in years, awesome effects, characters, plot, setting, EVERYTHING.
Hellboy II i really enjoyed too.
I never saw Rise of the Silver Surfer yet and almost did. and although i heard the movie wasnt good, i always heard it was due to director and other actors (like Alba lol).
but even with Silver Surfer, he is unstopable and kickass lol.
Doug Jones is amazing!!!!! I'm so happy that his career is doing well. He really deserves all the praise he gets :) I'm dying to see more of his work!!!!
If you actually listen, and/or do ome research, yes he did now basic spanish, but this was castillian spanish dialogue he had to speak. Which is much different from North American spanish that american's mostly learn to speak.
Also, in the movie, that was NOT, I repeat, NOT his actual voice. The voice actor's name was Pablo Adan. You can look it up.
Actually, if you pay attention, what you had said in your first paragraph is EXACTLY what I said. and you're second paragraph... please...I've watche the special features on the actual dvd...nice try though..later =)
actually no, even Guillermo del Toro has said in numerous interviews that YES Doug Jones did practice and brush up his Spanish in order for him to be able to voice Pan himself, but in the end they did end up using a native Spaniard to do Pan's voice. It's actually quite sad since Doug hasn't gotten to use his own voice for any of his characters until Hellboy 2.
no, there is another person doing the voice. although they said while on set he learned to say all his lines so he would not just be mouthing it, so he could act the part with more feel and character.
actually no, i know its easy to think that, the director wanted to do a voice over for Pan, but Doug said he would rather to the voice himself, so he did learn his lines in spanish
Doug Jones, one of the most patient men on the planet, super sweet guy, and he was dressed in one of the most uncomfortable suits you can imagine. I mean, he's literally covered in prosthetics, extended fingers, branches growing out of his back, green legs, a talking helmet (the works) on a daily basis.
I know! I mean, he told her not to eat anything! You think she could keep her hadns to herself? Also, if she had just run in, gotten the dagger and run back out without stopping to look around she wouldn't even have thought of touching anything and she woudlnt' have run out of time like she did.
@Christoph294 actually the film is Mexican. I also had previously believed it was a Spanish film but it's not. The Mexican director also wrote the script and the the production company is Espeeranto Films which is Mexican. The whole taking place in Spain is what threw me off.
hahahaha, dont get mad if i say this...i can now see why hes the pale man, cos he himself is pale!!LOL. but no, really, hes cool, like him as pan and pale man.
Thanks for posting this video! I hated the first Fantastic Four movie but I'm so tempted to go watch the second one just to check out his performance.
Heehee...actually, I thought he was going to eat the baby at the end... happy he was a "good guy", though, in the end. Overall, he was just coolness incarnate, actually. hehe. Doug Jones is way underated as a performer, IMHO. :) Thanks for sharing!
glad u liked the video! i do agree that his underrated, ive never even heard of the guy before this movie, cant wait to see more from him in the future
I don't understand how he spoke fluent Castellano.

no, he was also required to learn huge chunks of dialogue in Spanish though ultimately he's voice was redubbed.
ironhead129 3 years ago
The voice was Pablo Adan I think.
ladyfeathertail 3 years ago
to keep the record straight, He already knew spanish, but had to learn more dialect of the region, and it was his own voice

@Grecia1401 What do you have to proud of? Did you have anything to do with the film whatsoever?
Or are you so devoid of self-esteem that you have find to validation in something as trivial and pathetic as nationalism and ethnic pride?
