you fuckin killed it perro! that song is my fav. i kill it on the bass, but the gitfidle is allways up front. i NEED a band that plays old shit like this.
very nice played:-) gotta learn that solo. i can fuckin play rythm w/ fingerplat with 400 mph, but those damn solos, my fingers are not into it:-) ha ha... very nice JOB
From a subtle point of view, there was some slight note errors in the solo, as well as a bit of fluctuation in the vibrato. I've been listening to this solo/song for years now, overall great job!
Spheres is one of the biggest master pieces in modern music, not just metal.
When i heard it back in '94 i was fucking blown away. You just see the logo on the album whichs is amazing and you don't even realize that you will be taken on a journey through space and time.
Cosmic album...People who can not perceive the genuine geniality of this master piece are limited and closed minded.
Testimony of the Ancients is fantastic by all means.I don't listen to death metal now days, but love this one.
well put! the first time i listened to it, i was a little bit dubious to tell you the truth.. but after listening to it, i had to read more about the band, and to my surprise (or not) they were related to atheist, and tony choy played with cynic, eventhough he never recorded with them...
choy recorded a demo with cynic. I think it was the uroboric forms demo in 1991. don't quote me on the year or the name of the demo, but choy did record a demo with cynic.
Very cool man. I love Spheres. You also did a good job on the solos. There's outstanding lead work on Testimony of the Ancients. What tuning is this in? I want to try and learn this
One of the earliest bands that paved the way for Death metal along Death,Possessed, Morbid Angel etc. If your planning choices on what Coroner song to pick I recommend "Voyage to Eternity" Haven't seen anyone cover that one.
i like challenges... you are right, the solo's are great, but the band reminds me of cob only that they are more classically oriented.
maybe you can recommend me a good song? "the black roija" is one of my favorites, but never tried to figure it out. i have all their albums but "for the revolution"
Wow, that was very nice and the effects were funny.
About the Kalmah thing, you could play Hades or Dance of the Water, those are fun songs to play. Dance of the water has a very good intro which is fast but easy and Hades does have a crazy solo.
By the way I don't think Kalmah and CoB are similar and I don't think either that you can't play Kalmah, it isn't that Difficult.
In Dance of the Water I do feel that, somwhere near the little solo kinda thing and they come back a little later. Hades is very guitar oriented so I can clearly hear everything in it.
Btw, Alexis vocals where somewhat similar to Pekka's in CoB's first albums but later it differs a lot because both Pekka and Alexi change their vocal style.
Hey dude can you tell me where you got your esp? I live in el paso and they dont sell em here. I went to guitar center and they told me they dont stock ESP same with all the pawn shops so whered you get yours? Great cover by the way!
damn, i'm surprised that you can't find esp's in such a big city... i think the manufacturer is somewhere in california as well.. you can go to espguitars official website and look there too!
Pestilence is definitely one of my favorite death metal bands, though I haven't got the Testimony of the Ancients (yet). But the first two records rule for sure. Martin van Drunen's vocals are killing! Sweet playing once again, it's really a pleasure to watch your videos.
ive found pestilence through athiest and athiest was recommended by someone long time ago...but i had to start to play guitar to fully appriciate that music, i got nothing to teach to you you are 50 times more advanced guitarist than me and you probably heard more bands than me:) mind reflections - good music and good lyrics // i play for a year and half im thinking about learning cynic - celestial voyage:D ma fav of yours is uroboric forms:D
haha i was just listening to mind reflections and wrote a comm about that:D
so in my opinion whole testimony of the ancients is a good atmospheric album thats worth listening to...when i discovered that band i could not understand why is it so underrated and not so popular as other bands

Well you need to listen to it for couple of times in order to get used to it.
It's like watching the "back to the future" trilogy.

I don't get why people disrespect Spheres. It's maybe not traditional metal but it's a really good album nonetheless.

i think it's a great album... just a little bit boring some times... even though i think it's their most progressive album.

Nice vid man,
I can play most parts of the song myself, but I find the solo rather annoying due to the odd timing, you pulled it off nicely though :)
Unfortunately I can't play the second solo, so I generally just play the chords.
Pretty nice run :)
@alwaysthecynic: I had a tab lying around that's in E I believe

ha! i know what you mean, the little lick from 1:16 to 1:19 was literally a pain in the butt.

i listened to the songs you mentioned, and maybe it's my speakers, but do you feel like the guitars are 'drowned' towards the back of the mix?
