  • Karen O&David Lynch are like a match made in hell! (in the best sort of way). I'm trying to make music with this sort of intensity. If you search for a song called "Radiohead/Brian Eno inspired Horror Track" (catchy right) and gave it a listen it would mean alot to me. I'd be interested in any suggestions from people who like this type of music too :) thanks

  • watch the road

  • Another point is that The Residents actually did make a movie, and it's even weirder than Lynch. It was 14 hours of footage intended to be named "Vileness Fats", but they never released it. Then, due to fan persistence, they released "Whatever happened to Vileness Fats?", a shortened version with a different soundtrack. It's very Lynchian, I recommend it.

  • Hawt

  • 1:31 Silly musician, Pinkie Pie is always laughing

  • typical David Lynch, surreal, very tasteful

  • David Lynch needs to get involved with The Residents. Anybody who listens to both might know what I'm talking about. The Residents invented bizarre music, and David Lynch re-invented bizarre movies, so the two would make a great pair!

  • @Bassbait Raymond Scott and White Noise were around years before The Residents even formed... and if you want to talk about bizarre music, listen to White Noise.

  • @OuroborosChoked White Noise formed a year before The Residents. So how is that years? The Residents is a different story. They're the absolute most dedicated band to being weird that I've ever known. They are essentially the David Lynch of music. And I never meant for what I said to be taken as fact anyway. What my comment was supposed to be saying is that Residents and David Lynch would make a good combo.

  • @Bassbait You're obviously not familiar with the groundbreaking album they released that very year. Please do look it up. It's amazing.

And Raymond Scott was basically THE pioneer of weird music...

I don't mean to be rude with my comments. I agree with your point, but your assertion that The Residents *invented* bizarre music is, at the very least, misinformed.

  • @OuroborosChoked I know they didn't invent bizarre music. Cromagnon had bizarre music in 1969 with their album "Orgasm". I was exaggerating to get a point across that both Lynch and Residents are on similar terms. The Residents definitely put bizarre music on the map if you ask me, despite not being the absolute first band to do it. And I know of An Electric Storm, for what it's worth. And that's not the first weird work of music either. Klavierstück IX is worth looking up.

  • @Bassbait

Yeah, The Residents are known for their avant-garde style of music. Personally I can't stand their music. At least Lynch's music is tolerable.

  • @CAPSLOCKC The Residents rule. The song "The Aging Musician" is a really insightful song into the rock and roll lifestyle. They're actually really clever, as all of their albums have some sort of major idea involved that they never reveal. They're definitely ahead of their time. They really are the musical equivalent of watching a Lynch movie. But music tastes are so different for people, most people will never like The Residents. I love them. And they WOULD work good with Lynch.

  • @Bassbait

The Residents "invented" bizarre music, did they? hahaha, no. Bizarre/experimental music has been around for a long, long time.

  • @skulleton It was exaggeration, I wasn't actually implying that The Residents invented bizarre music. Did you know that David Lynch was set to direct a TV show based on a video game created by The Residents? Interesting fact, but it never saw the light of day. So Residents and David Lynch were destined to get together, it's just sad they never really did.

  • @Bassbait

    Thanks for the info

  • Love it :)

  • “Crazy Clown Time“.primer trabajo musical en formato disco según leí, suena muy bien #deleplay

  • I feel like I'm in a Tarantino film.

  • @belinthe

    Tarantino? Really? You poor thing.

  • This is such an amazing record.

  • Yes, this song absolutely sounds like Siouxsie and the Banshees! It sounds like an early SATB b-side. Karen O would not exist if it were not for Siouxsie. Time and time again Siouxsie gets ripped off with no credit given...

  • This song is ace!!! Am I the only one the find it sounds like Siouxsie and the Banshees?

  • Candy Colored Clown . Yep , good ol' C³ , can't be beat .

  • i feel like doing drugs to this song

  • very very very kool
