I was one step away from this happening with the one woman I love the most to this day. We allowed constant interuptions stop this from happening. About a year ago I saw her with another man. I didn't say anything, but then I caught her staring at me in a trance, thinking back to the early days and then her trance broke, she saw me looking into her eyes. She then turned her head to the side and went back into a trance. Just before she left, she jumped up to her man's confusion and waved at me:)

I remember being frustrated watching Kira and Odo's relationship, and with all the writing copouts (revelations of love in parallel universes, time-shifts etc that never led to resolution). The explosive onset of this kiss was unexpected, amazing and perfectly fit both characters. Years later I still remember this scene. Kira!

@LAX324 He was "raised" by humanoids, so he had to learn about shapeshifting on his own, with the help of humanoid scientists. He's younger than most of the other changelings, and throughout the show he learns a lot about his species and improves his shapeshifting abilities.

This is typical canon for DS9, they never show what really happened, that Kira and Odo knew each other very well for some longer time. There is the tale that young Odo was frequently holding a shiftbang with Bajoran Prison Girls, he used to turn himself into a 10 armed realistic flesh dildo having a vagina in the middle of his body, so he could enjoy satisfying 10 Bajoran girls at a time plus getting a lick as well. Just wow to be a shapeshifter who did not know that he was a founder at all.

The funny thing is I didn't liked her in the beginning but I liked Odo instantly, and as I began to see Kira through his eyes, I fell in love with her with him.
