It's a good idea, but the mistake was that the one sound was either only on right or only on left headphone, while if the source of the sound is on your right, it's logical that you will hear the sound with both your ears, only it would be stronger in your right ear. I hope you understood what I meant to say, my English is kind of sucky. :D

I understand that, but if you take virtual haircut for example, you'll notice that the sound is always noticeable in both ears, although it's strong in the ear that is closer to the sound source. If you put one sound only in one ear, and another one only in another ear it makes it less realistic and it's not what holophonic 3d sounds are about.

Lol, the game F.E.A.R. uses holophonic sound. You can tell exactly where every sound is coming from while you're playing the game, which makes things a hell of a lot creepier.
