I remember back when i first played this on PS1 i got lucky 7's with barret for the first (and only) time. I had no idea what it did. I had to sit there and watch in horror and boredom as barret attacked diamond weapon for what seemed like an eternity. Each hit doing 0 damage.....

this is not fake and its not THAT hard to keep tifa and cloud on low level. You just need to keep them dead at the end of fights and when they are in mideel, they dont gain any experience. And its also possible to pass the game with a solo character, so no fake.

@dradlok only living chars get xp at the end of battle. he could be playing only with barret leaving all others dead. sure, this would be pointless and probably impossible without an unsustainable crapload of kickass items. but then again all of this could also be easily edited with a gameshark.

one thing i see wrong with this video is that he most likely does have materia on Tifa because how can she gain health from his attacks if she doesn't? also he's using the lunar curtain witch protects from magic attacks but he's gaining health from it so what would be the point in reducing the amount of health that u can gain?

Anyway. This video is great. You were very patient, persistent, and very lucky :] I myself played FFVII for several years, did a lot of runs on the sunken submarine with those "unknown" monsters to morph into sources so i could beat ruby emerald. Good job, i would've lost.

Like, oh i don't know, engineers knew there wouldnt be any air and if they put up a flag with no support it'd look like a dishrag on a stick, so they made a telescoping pole that bent at one instance so the flag would be completely visible, that maybe the telescoping pole didnt extend all the way and the astronauts had to scrunch it up a bit at the end?

Pretty simple. Dead chars don't gain Exp. Also, read the vid description on keeping damage down from stomp.

Word of advice: The next time you're not sure how something is possible, simply ask. Jumping straight to the conclusion that it's glitched/hacked/cheated isn't very smart.

Oh, and Cloud isn't at level 7. It's 8.

This has got to be one of my favorite video's when it's comes to boss battles. There is no special codes or cheats involved, not even a really high level for the character. Just good ol strategy, wits, and patience, nice job!

Uh... what? You can see from the very first attack that, even with Sadness (-30% damage), Tifa can only *just* survive, even with the Tough Ring. Even then, it still takes bags of skill, patience and a thorough understanding of Diamond's AI patterns to pull this off. I'd like to see manage something like it.

IIRC It's heading for Midgar but you wait for it to come ashore near Junon. If you take too long to kill it the Sister Ray will fire at it and it fires at Midgar "killing" Rufus. If this happens you technically win the battle but get no EXP, AP or Gil.
