derby 8th grade Middle School band 12-4-08 The Water is Wide

I'm in a 6th grade band- every1 buy me started this year( I played last yr) and were better than that. Well we have a professional musician/ conductor so.... Ya. But I almost went 2 derby...:/

ARGH!!! I play french horn, so I was listening mainly to that part. I've only had 2 rehearsals, and I'm already better than those french horns!!! THEY'RE SLOPPY!!! I'm not impresssed. :(

we played this in the Atlantic band festival but we played the better version of this, and vickings victorious and accient moon, we got silver and the only reason we didnt get gold was because some of our players werent playing in the key signature. the ajudeakator wrote as a comment for this peice : WOW! very beutiful,

im a flutist..my band kinda sucks....we are playing a different version of this. it really is a pretty song.

hmm. i go to derby middle school in kansas. no wonder these ppl don't look like last year's honor's band. we have a different director.

ok first of all, you cant blame the whole band for a couple girls whispering, and second of all, were better than all you people, we went to festival and got straight ones and played 10th and 11th grade pieces. so stop hating on us just becasue were better than any band you have directed/ been in, and btw, we only have one french horn and he sucks.

our band was prolly better then ur band no offense, we did too, and judges commented that we had tone quality of late high school bands and early college bands, we got straight 4's (i think, i just know we got the highest rating from all of them) and we were playing 2 1/2- 3 1/2 difficulty pieces (not sure what grade that would be but yea)

The girls whispering are a distraction, you can do much more with this song. I know its over but, if you do the song again you can make it perfect by two things, saxaphones are leading the french horns, they stick out. they blend in and your almost perfect. numb. 2 add some feeling, french horns creshendo when you come in with your melody, euphoniums start loud not to lout about a mf and decreshendo when you echo the french horns. add some feeling. other than that its perfect
