If there were a show of this size now, the corporate sponsor logos, banners, VIP sections, Hooters tent, AT&T tent, Verizon tent, Bank of America tent, etc, etc, would be as far as the eye could see, it's refreshing to see an event like this stripped down to just about the event, the people and the bands, as only it could be in '69.
THANKS FOR POSTING THIS..I GOT TO WOODSTOCK...IN 1994..BETTER LATE THEN NEVER..I BROKE MY LEG REALLY BAD JUST GOING TO THE PORTA POTTY ..IT HAD RAINED REALLY HARD EARLIER AND I JUST SLIPPED ONE LEG IT THE AIR AND THE OTHER FIRMLY PLANTED...ARLO GUTHERIE CALLED FOR MY WIFE TO COME BACK STAGE..HE PUT HIS ARM AROUND HER AND TOLD HER I BROKE MY LEG BUT IT WOULD BE OKAY..I STILL HAD A BLAST!THE PLACE IS SPECIAL! HATE IT THEY BUILT IN THE FIELD!SORRY BOUT CAPS..BAD EYES PEACE!
I met this lady when I was working who had a woodstock shirt on and she said she was there at the original and she was pretty old so I didn't doubt her but I was just amazed she gave me something out of her purse and told me it was special it was a piece of fence from the original fence and I nearly died....Peace to you cats
Man, think how much money some authentic Woodstock memorabilia would be worth! Thousands of dollars! If I had been there, I would have been going around gathering up everything I could hold and hoarding it in a U-Haul. (Did U-Haul exist then?) If I did that, I could SELL it all now for thousands!
.I wonder if anyone ever made a sigh that said "will work for pussy"? I would pop off something like "there is no use trying to place your hand where i can't see because i understand that your different from me.Directly look her in the eye,''and say" Yes I can tell that you can't be what you pretend..And walk off with my acoustic,"thinking I'm gonna need some acid so i can figure this thing out..And the chic just appears everywhere!! They just appear? What the fuck is that? It is a good thing!
Some of these peoples efforts were rewarded by sending them to the bad trip camp..The ones who set up camp there immediately were not quite as well scientifically founded," as they sounded," but still somewhat rewarded:..But it was awfully considerate them too think of us "here,'' And we were obliged also for them making it clear,'' to us, that we were not there..
thank you. what a wonderful time that was. you are lucky the film is still good to look at. get it over to dvd fast....Once gone it will be gone for ever

@FasterThanYou321 Well, if ya wanna pimp meaningless stuff for money today, you could be a music industry CEO.

If you saw The Who's performance, did you also see Townshend's altercation with Abbie Hoffman?

Hope you don't mind me asking, but what was your favorite performance (out of the whole festival)?
RockMusicLover73 2 years ago
That's really hard to say, of course, but I'd pick The Who, followed closely by Ten Years After.
