He started way too high, and so he covered it up really well with lots of adlibs. It wasn't irritiating, he just should have started in a lower key because he didn't all of the high notes. Regardless, he can sing Amazing Grace and sound incredible. He's one of the more popular finalists to sky rocket from American Idol, since his season that was nearly 5 years ago. I look up to him vocally. He's phenominal and it's so sad that he didn't make the finale w. Kat McPhee, bc Taylor Hicks was a joke!

Elliot is a phenomenal singer, but I didn't exactly like his rendition of the anthem. Lots of people sing this well, but this isn't where Elliot's soulful voice shines. Anthony Federov, one of my favorite idol contestants, has my favorite male rendition of the song and I've heard lots. My favorite female version is Beyonce's and Whitney Houston's.

To "start in the wrong key" is somewhat incorrect considering none of you likely know what key he was planning on singing it in to begin with. He may have changed his tonality from the original note he started on during the song.

Ok I'm gonna tell y'all what happened. At the beginning he was waiting for the first note in his ear piece but it never came. So he started without it. He started too high for his voice, so he had to change the melody sometimes to compensate. I think he did a great job.

Elliott has no limations lol - jus watch any of his Idol performances for proof of that. If I can dream - an incredibly difficult song to sing - and he jus nailed it. One of the best voices ive ever heard. Altho Buble still far and away the best singer in the world for me atm - no limit to what he can do either.
