  • Lord Mitt of Romney talks to the little people about immigration. His "tea party" has tea with Marie Antoinette.

  • this is exactly why I will not vote for him....

  • Well here we go again, another neocon destroying the us and out constitution. WAKE UP PEOPLE It would not surprise me if the US became a natzi Germany all over again with people like mitt. Ron Paul yes he has large ideas for change, but that is exactly what we need is change, MAJOR CHANGE. I love the Dr. Paul is a constitutionalist and bases most of his ideas from it. That is why it was written. LEGALIZE THE CONSTITUTION!

    GOD HELP US

    ~~~~RON PAUL 2012~~~~~
  • Man this dood is pathetic, flip flopping all over the place, pandering to the lowest common denominator. He's like John Kerry, McCain, and Dole all mushed up together, LOSERS! The POTUS is gonna clean his clock!
  • So if they are 'slaves' like you say ask them to leave. Why are illegal aliens above the law?
  • oNly thing theyre NOT DOING is voting.... like slaves ..youd keep them here without being able to vote
  • @lovethyneighborloljk
    It IS INDEED out of context--you know it and everyone else knows it.
    And the video you suggest everyone watch shows him saying the same thing, almost exactly, as he does in this interview: give them a period to comply with the law by applying for permanent residence or citizenship, just like everyone else has to do, but then they must return home by a certain time if they've been rejected. It allows some clemency while enforcing the rule of law.
  • What's so bad about humans gaining citizenship? Are we not entitled to walk on whatever land we choose to do so? Why is one race "granted" rights to stay here after pillaging, raping and eradicating an entire race but immigrants who take low wages in an attempt to survive are viewed as evil. Maybe it's not citizenship that's the issue, maybe its Americans racism and conditions for immigrants that's the REAL problem.
  • Flip FLIP flop FLOP!!
  • newt sent me here
  • hey lemmings. Try watching the full clip so you aren't buying into this crap
  • Im not saying hes right but at least gingrich was talking about amnesty for those that have been a long time. Romneys talking about amnesty for all 12 million and I heard the long clip its still amnesty hes talking about and theres no way for Romney to spin his way out this time. What bothers me is the hypocracy of Romney, it was Romney mr.amnesty that accused Perry and Gingrich of being soft on amnesty not the other way around.
  • What a fraud! The man will say ANYTHING depending on where he's at and what he's trying to achieve.
  • Flippy Floppy Mitty, Flippy Floppy Mitty!
  • This was taken totally out of context. He goes on to say in the full clip that they would have to go home.
  • @maemclaren that is simply not true and mitt romney is honestly the biggest flip flopper in politics today....you can tell with his responses in the debates that he just says whatever is "more conservative"....bc he needs to do that to win the nomination. He did the same to win the governorship-that is-he acted liberal and moderate....
  • FOR THOSE SAYING THIS IS OUT OF CONTEXT please look up on youtube: "Romney on immigration: say what?" to see him give a full throated endorsement of a path to citizenship. No editing or cutting off. Stop making excuses for him. Romney is a liberal. (Also look up "liberal mitts greatest hits" to further prove he's a lib in disguise).
  • @lovethyneighborloljk well, he is a flip flopper more than anything....wanting to grant amnesty to people who have lived here and payed taxes for 15 years isnt "liberal"....the point is that mitt romney is a flip flopper and the GOP is filled with idiotic and VERY weak candidates. Its sad that no one legitimate on the GOP side stepped up (sad for the GOP, that is)
  • @lovethyneighborloljk Full throated what? He said the exact same thing in that video as he did in his meet the press interview.
  • Ummm, is you allow them to sign up for citizenship or documentation, it's the same thing as granting them amnesty.
    Just got back from a huge family thankgiving dinner ..........Not a single person would vote for Romney , even if he was up against Obama.
  • @2002lees Governor Romney says in the full video he believes they should be able to apply for citizenship...just as any non american citizen(from anywhere) can apply and be rejected if they do not meet the requirements. He goes on to elaborate that they should get no preferential treatment over anyone else simply because they are already here illegally. Granting amnesty would allow the 12 million to stay legally and cutting out any application process. I don't follow your logic on this one.
  • @saosin0919........What DOES obama say in the FULL video about "if we keep talking about the economy we're gonna lose " ??? Fox nation is running this video on their website with Newt's support BEHIND it ...
    BTW ...theyre staying here legally right now.......and u will never get support for mass deportation ....The have de facto amnesty AS OF RIGHT NOW
  • This is an unfair depiction of Mitt's stance. This is a 14 second clip of a much longer interview, in which he further describes what signing up for residency/citizenship intails.
  • By the way, here is the full quote: youtube dot com/watch?v=hzhBjUaiBfk&feature=player_embedded
  • amazing how convenient this out-of-context quote is to so many people who have made comments in opposition to Romney without watching the whole statement, which actually makes the exact opposite conclusion opposing amnesty. Are people really that easily swayed or is it willful blindness because their political loyalties already lie elsewhere?
  • This video is taken out of context. A liar put this out. I have the full clip in my favorites.
  • Conservatives NEED to reject this man. The establishment Repubs. and the MSM are manipulating the truth about him (just like McCain). If we fall for it we are going to lose. He will NOT go on the offense. Newt WILL. He is the only one with the courage needed to say what needs to be said. H is a brilliant debater and his superior intelligence is undeniable. As for his personal baggage, that shop sailed when Clinton was not held accountable for his reckless behavior.
  • You cut off the rest of his sentence, in which he says "but they should not be given a special pathway, a special guarantee that all of them get to stay here for the rest of their lives merely by virtue of having come here illegally, and that, I think, is the great flaw in the final bill that came forward from the Senate." Romney is not now, nor has he ever been, pro-amnesty, even when he was running for the Senate against Ted Kennedy. Anyone who wants the truth needs more than 14 seconds.
  • @PaperbackWizard And the second half does NOT cancel out the first half.
    Once an Illegal is allowed to legally stay ,and "sign up for citizenship" it's called amnesty, even if you then declare no "special pathway" blah blah blah
    Romney's full comment proves he's just like Obama.....they have the same policy and duplicity
  • @2002lees No one said the "path to citizenship" shouldn't include penalties for breaking the law; or even that being set on the path would guarantee they'd receive citizenship. His position, which has never changed, is that illegal aliens can start the path to citizenship like anyone else, but if they've broken the law, then they need to pay some sort of penalty, possibly deportation depending on the circumstances, and then go to the back of the line so people who didn't break the law go first.
  • Wait a minute!!! Newt you have taken Mitt out of context.
    Search the web for the entire 7 minute clip.
    Mitt makes it very clear that no one should get preferential treatment for coming here illegally, but that they should be able to sign up for citizenship, but then return home and wait their turn in line. Watch the entire clip!
    You've lost credibility on this one Newt! LOW BLOW and DISHONEST. Kind of like cheating on your wife, eh? Old habits die hard.
  • Go to your you-tube search bar. Type in Ann Barnhardt. When you get to her page..select "NICE" watch that...then "Romney Go Home."  Romney is the choice of RNC and M.S.M. and the KEYNESIAN theorists of TARPS and TOO big to FAIL bankers...because they even FINANCED him 13 to 1. What's your name...whose your daddy?
  • I guess, because he looks like a movie star - people will vote for him. Heck, the author of Romney care would not want to throw out obamacare. Romney care had $50 deductibles for state funded abortion...but he is against abortion? Wall Street financed his campaign 13 to one over any other Repub. candidate so we can have more TARP and bus. as usual. The EAST COAST swankys and the MAINSTREAM media...know how their BREAD is BUTTERED.
  • @brianprince100 The Democratic Legislature had there way with Romneycare, and If you believe what you posted about Mitt, you either don't know/understand his values, or you're a rouge Dem. Which is it?
  • @urinclined - Yes, u-r-inclined. You are Right. I AM Just someone whose family got cheated out of a 150 acre farm in 1676...by people like Romney (Putnams)whose Ancestors also Helped write the Bible, The Magna-Carta and a few other things IS-RAEL nice to read. To answer your SANGRAEL question...a Tea-Party Patriot...kinda LIKE..."We The People" (1Peter 2:1-10) not some DARK OFFICE with the curtains drawn...like RNC or CNN or Goldman Sachs. (Cullpepper Family Members were at the original).
  • Romney will say anything to get elected.
  • It stupid he criticized Gingrich, when look what he did!
  • Comment removed
  • "A Romney spokeswoman later indicated that the clip snipped off a crucial part of the2007 interview, in which Romney said illegal immigrants, “should not be given a special pathway, a special guarantee that all of them get to stay here for the rest of their lives merely by virtue of having come here illegally.”
    From a Des Moines Register Article titled "Romney: Gingrich immigration idea is step toward amnesty"
  • I can disagree with a Perry, Gingrich or Bachmann, and know that they're sincere people with some semblance of principles. On illegal aliens, Perry has said, This is what I think, take it or leave it. Gingrich the same thing, last night. I tend to disagree with Gingrich or Perry but I can appreciate the nuance of their view.
    Romney strikes me as a weasel who says what he needs to say just to get elected. Can't trust him.
  • I kinda like Mitt... but his flip flopping all over the map makes me question his integrity.
  • This comment is consistent with a position that illegals here should be able to sign up for residency or citizenship, just like all the people waiting to come legally.
    This 14 second clip lacks any context.
  • How can this 2007 comment from Mitt Romney be squared with his 2011 criticism of Newt Gingrich or Rick Perry for advocating the same? Romney is a weather vane, as Huntsman called him, telling us voters what he believes we want to hear.
  • I don't want Obama to win, but I just can't see myself ever supporting this guy. He has no core, nor any convictions whatsoever!
  • There's a legit philosophy on both sides of this issue. Personally, I think amnesty is a terrible idea, but at least I understand both sides.
    Romney is ridiculous for how he has taken the strongest position on both sides of the same issue in this case, and in so many other cases. He seemed so sincere when he condemned the very thing he seemed so sincere to propose.
    I really think he must have some kind of mental illness. He really doesn't care about anything but winning.
