  • I can't wait to see the Celtic Women at Hershey PA :)) I REALLY CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful :)

  • This was done in 1999 (which means she would have been about 24 then). Today, she still has a lot of energy and beauty - the two things she says she strives to be. I'm a big fan.

  • Mein Gott, ward ihr gut - ich liebte Euch beide - Mairéad, Du warst noch so verdammt jung, von CW keine Spur - Auch noch kein Ehemann - ich erhoffte eine Begegnung mit Dir. Nun was solls.

  • So habe Ich Dich kennengelernt - Du warst großartig

  • Die gehen ab das ist Talent denen macht keiner etwas vor

  • I love Mairead reaction to the guy that yells at 0:41. Priceless :))

  • Those two gals really know how to saw a fiddle!

  • my g... MAIREAD?!?? OO"

  • lol- just goes to show you how well she aged in the last 14/15 years!

  • Esta mina no se puede quedar quieta mientras toca... que grosa que es XD

  • girls, we love you !

  • Excelente !!! y con qué pasión toca el violín... Mairead Nesbitt

  • The leather was not a good idea

  • I can gladly say that I own this movie, Lord of the Dance, on VHS.

  • i have all good feed back for them i love nesbitt.... allthough i love her much more in celtic woman, still this is amazing wanna see them live

  • :D This is epic :D

  • Mairead in leather sawin on a fiddle.....I'm going straight to hell when I die.

  • Un-freaking-believable.

  • Great video! I wish I could play like that.

Mairead is also a good singer.

  • Throughout this whole thing I was just holding my breath, afraid that one of them would make a mistake... But they never did.

  • Oh... if only I could play like that! Amazing!

  • I like to see these girls and the Bond girls onstage together.

  • Why do people say their playing in fake? If they went to one of their concerts they wouldn't say that. I guess it just jealousy.

  • @rebelgabriel4308 they just know sheer talent. they wouldn't know talent if it came up and kicked them in the butt.

  • @darkcanas102 I agree. I love when people try and defend their own ignorance.

  • @rebelgabriel4308 It's probably because the sound isn't matching up with their movements because of the delay. Silly people.

  • @violynn12 I just don't understand why some people feel the need to whine about EVERYTHING that involves the Celtic Women and Michael Flatley's shows?

  • the drummer ain't too complicated XD

  • All Hail!

  • How can anyone 'dislike' this?! x

  • @JoJoC491 trolls my friend... trolls.

  • @Lugitorix I think they maybe meant to click 'like' ;D

  • @Lugitorix Dont console yourself thinking that everyone who doesnt think like you has some sort of interpersonal issue. Calling someone "troll" to explain every internet discrepancy is destroying internet culture.

  • @omgtkseth Oh please, dont flatter your thoughts thinking you guilt me if i assist soemone in believing that this truly is a masterpiece of music. And by all means... 'Internet Culture'... dont even drag me into that conversation.... Arguing on th Internet is like running in the special Olympics.... even if you win... to everyone else who distastes YOUR opinion.... youre still retarded.

If you dont like it. dont watch it, and dont post that you dont like otherwise you truily are.... a 'Troll'

  • @Lugitorix It applies to you to. If you are not interested in my comment then reply to me or it makes you a troll. "Arguing on th Internet is like running in the special Olympics."

I used to think it was stupid of people to quote TS Elliot, Einstein, and even the presidents, instead of actually reading a book. Ill never forget you and your dismissal of all dialectics...

  • @omgtkseth oh sry i got internet problems where i am, cant reply unless im at my friends house so im a little limited....

Yyyyyeaaahhh... im not really caring about this anymore, because im obviously not going to win, and if i keep it going... neither will you... sooooo.... can we drop it?... cuz to be honest... i really. dont. care. anymore. XD

  • People call others haters and trolls to dismiss a dialogue that annoys them but that they cant refute, so they argue that all the dialectics on the internet are inherently retarded for the fact of being virtual. Would you call the Russell's paradox "flame wars" if it had been a conversation on a forum? Would Voltaire's letters been "spam" if he had sent email? Dialectics and logic work in here too. Dont console yourself by pretending your thought process cant be refuted online.

    Cant refute?

  • @Lugitorix spose i cant... my only arguement was that "Why post on this that it 'sucks' or that it is 'crap'?" In my opinion, you dont like it, dont watch it, or comment, sure you can hit the dislike button, then i dont really care, but i was just talking to someone else and answering their question... sure it was a little bias, but overall i DONT want to start a major argument over it, is it REALLY that big a deal to you... then thats your problem... not mine.

Can we make peace and end this?

  • @Lugitorix Slag off, troll.

  • @63utuber Seriously?... two words: Piss... Off... i dont want to deal with your sorry ass attitude right now.

  • @Lugitorix People call others haters and trolls to dismiss a dialogue that annoys them but that they cant refute, so they argue that all the dialectics on the internet are inherently retarded for the fact of being virtual. • @omgtkseth Slag off, troll

  • @63utuber Jerk off, dipshit, I havent even said I dont like this.

  • Could it be "the 12th of never"? Just did a v cast song id on it and that was what came up...

  • Anybody know the name of the song?

  • Wow...Mairead Nesbitt...actually standing in one spot and not flying around the stage...so strange to see. Although, I bet if she wasn't playing with the other girl, if it was just her, she'd be all over that stage, lol.

  • Comment removed

  • @matrix86 that comment made my day LOL but even if she's playing with her she can perform high flying abilities on the stage > watch?v=ywMPtwM8avs

  • @matrix86 Actually this shot is from very early in her career- long before her days as one of the CW. Watching her play, however, makes me realize just how well deserved her title of "national fiddle champion" is.

  • @arisblaze Yeah, I know this was before CW...I've got the VHS of this show...wow, I feel old just saying that and i'm only 25, lol.

  • @matrix86 two words= stilleto heels!

  • LOVE IT !!!!!!!

  • what is mairead wearing never seen her anything more than a dress :)

  • SOOOOO much better than katy perry or the F#c she is called :)

  • Maired must be the daughter of the god of music ...

  • @J00GIE One of the greek muses maybe?

  • i can officially say im proud to be a nesbitt

  • WHOA. that would be one hectic song to learn and memorise.

  • dit is een heel leuk nummer word, er bang van

  • This song is called, "Strings of fire" ><

  • The name of this song is "Strings Of Fire' and was recorded in 1997 but not released until 1999.

  • It is AMAZING how their hair never touch the strings of their violins as they prance around like deers. It is just AMAZING!!

  • @amyleeluvr Years of practice I think ;)

  • I MIT NÆSTE LIV! Så skal jeg lære at spille violin!!! :-)

  • I love Mairead's hair in this! I have to admit, I like the pretty Celtic Woman dresses better than the all black leather look. Both I hand it to them both, their fiddle playing is marvelous!

  • God created whiskey,

to keep the Irish from ruling the Earth!

    Bobby...

  • These women are nothing short of AMAZING!!!! WOW!!!!!

  • This is what the Celts produced: hell for leather fiddle music that in this country evolved into American bluegrass, the weaving and technique of plaid clothing;

a rich tradition of poetry and music, horse lore and steeplechase racing.

  • Ever wondered just how good you can get in violin playing?

    Now you know!!!

This, then Vivaldi, mozart or Wagner and you'll hit the jack-pot!!!

  • amazing

  • which one is Mairead

  • @pogo506 Hard to tell with all of the blond hair flying around, but Mairead is the one wearing trousers. :)

  • @pogo506 the first that plays the violin :)

  • @pogo506 The one on the left.

  • This part always makes me remember when I was a little kid then I used to love this so much that I just watched it over and over again because I thought it was amazing. That sentence was supposed to make sense and I hope it did :)

  • Funny to see just two fiddle players when you can also hear an accordion, an electric guitar (or two) and a drum kit!

  • intersting outfit choice, awesome performance 8)

  • OMG WONDERFUL. Mairead and Cora are just totally the Pixieland Express. :D Even in Dallas, Texas, I know Mairead now. :)

  • Captivating..just pure excellence..thank you ladies for such wonderful talent.

  • the song is called "Strings of Fire" and it's actually from Feet of Flames i think... but great!! =)

  • The second reel they play is the congress reel! Absolutely fantastic!!

  • cool

  • omg Mairead Nesbitt just pwnd the other girl lol

  • does someone have the sheet of this song? =S

  • @PatriciaAyarra

If you do a google search there are free pdf's for the three tunes which make up "Strings of Fire" - they are:

    "Dick Gossips'"

    "Calliope House"

    "The Congress Reel"

    Hope this helps

  • @13Chas7

    Thank you very much! =)

  • @13Chas7 thank you for posting the names of the 3 songs, i now have all three on my mp3 player :D

  • The name of this song is "Strings Of Fire."

I like how they take turns playing at the beginning.

  • ridiculous

  • Ohhhh,,,,, This is my version of Eden.

  • Mairead....Oh Mairead.....

  • omg how hot are they

  • The two are great together! At 1min 30 sec I think a song called 'CALLIOPE MEETS FRANK' is played.

  • both of those ladies can play a mean fiddle :-)mairead nesbitt rocks!

  • amazing ladie's

  • Wow, Cora really stomped on that first step didn't she?

I love this song! They both are amazing!

  • I adore both Lord Of The Dance and Celtic Woman to death!. I hope to be as good as Mairead one day ^_^. An inspiration she is, I just love her <3

  • I have watched Riverdance & Lord of the dance over & over, & now Celtic Woman & didn't put 2 &2 together that Mairead on both. Silly me lol! Anyway big fan of the Dance & Celtic Woman.

  • holy carp there good

  • Zdecydowanie bardziej cenię jej solowe wystąpienia. 2 "blondi" tylko przeszkadza ;)

  • I appreciate it much more of a solo. 2 "Blondie" only hinder;)

I thought you might like a transtation from google

    Duelling solo sounds like suicide.

  • Máiréad looks so different here, I`m used to seeing her performing with Celtic Woman but this performance with the other fiddler is just great!

  • This one is so...

You now what I mean, don't you? Can't express in words. (:

  • Mairead really looks sexy in all the videos she has been in but she looks the sexiest in celtic woman 2.

  • Fantastic, I watch it whenever I can - and notice things - Mairead (=goosebumps thanks casziswaywack, I gave you thumb up) acquires a watch at 1,10 then it disappears, returning at 3.20 and disappears again. Magic.

  • I wish they'd play this version of the song in shows now... They use the beginning and end, but the part between 1:30 and 2:23 isn't used anymore. =(

  • Ronan Hardiman Duelling Violins

  • Mairead and Cora are both nothing short of fantastic!

  • @fszabo So true:)

  • oh snaps....i used to watch that movie all the time when i was younger...didn't know who she was till now, lol

  • I wish i was irish....I LOVE their Culture!!

  • @branjobu96 So do I

  • Oh my gosh Mairead, you never fail to give me goosebumps during your performances :D You rock!

  • i love irish music and i love ireland

  • I could've sworn I saw smoke from their playing!! :D BEAUTIFUL!

  • that probably is the smoke already flying around to make the spots more visible

  • i love ireland^^ I am irish boy^^

  • I think this is what been Irish is all about ,and to all those people who know what it is like to have a Irish heritage and to all those people who like the Irish sounds ,i have been away from my homeland for many years and this brings me to tears of happiness

  • They friggin ROCK!!

  • THERE TWO GREAT FIDDLERS HERE!!

  • Mairead is beautiful and so awesome!

  • I was there and didnt even know Mairead at the time. Best show i ever seen.

  • How nice.

    Ireland's got talent..

    Ray

  • The jig around the 1:30 mark is called Calliope House.

  • The song they start playing at :35 is a Celtic folk song called Cooley's Reel.

  • whats the name from this song????

    please help me!!

    greetings from south germany

  • the lord of dance written by Ronan Hardiman

  • The tune they start playing at 1:30 is "Caliope House"

  • I can't help myself, I just feel I have to point out that, at 2:24, they start playing a different tune, "Raggle Taggle Gypsy".

  • There's actually 3 songs or "reels" here. I dont know the names though.

  • Ah, I only caught 2, only one of which I could name, but I'm extremely certain that the final part, at 2:24, is Raggle Taggle Gypsy.

If someone could mark and name the other two, I'd very much appreciate it.

  • RK, the only name I remember from past comments is "The Congress Reel". I dont know where it is in the song but the name keeps coming up.

  • First reel is called Big John McNeil. Second is a jig called Calliope House and the last is a reel called Sporting Paddy.

  • @trish3rs

Thank you very much, trish3rs! I very much appreciate your help!
