i really feel sorry for them. their income comes from their bodies. they join the modeling industry with the impression that its very glitz and glamorous. then they have to deal with weight paranoia, being objectified as a body, an empty mannequin along with the sexual harassments, the drugs, the constant stress from work. it's a much easier life cleaning up the streets than this. and remember most models come from a poor background. they lose their souls in this industry.

I don't think this film was a "Boo-hoo, people only like me for my looks." documentary, I think it was meant to show the reality of modeling and serve as a warning for girls who want to model so they know what to expect.

I know someone who was only 16, when she was sexually abused by a photographer, (and it happens all the time in the fashion industry) and then I see al these little girls wanting to be models as if it's a dream job. The film is supposed to bring about awareness that sexual abuse occurs very often in the fashion industry.

I don't understand some of these comments. A lot of models get spotted really young, usually around 14, and they just get thrust into this competitive, highly sexualised environment. Sure they choose to be models, but that doesn't give anyone the right to take advantage of them in the ways that the models in this movie are trying to expose. Also if a scout came to you at 13 or 14 and asked if you wanted to be a model, with all that that entails, I wonder how many people would say no.

I agree that this profession is infinitely better than many other jobs out there and that their experiences can be great, but it's still an industry where people are exploited, ignored and generally mistreated. Please don't brush them off just because they get lots of money or work in a glamorous job. Models are taken advantage of, either regarding their money or their body. Just because they get paid lots doesn't mean that anyone should be allowed to be treated this way.
