First of all don't use Firefox on Netbooks, it makes them overheat and is very slow. I installed Jolicloud on my netbook and use Opera and Chromium browsers, Google docs, and it's lightning fast. even faster than my dumb macbook.. I even watch Netflix streaming on it. If you have fat fingers like me just use an external usb keyboard and mouse. just google "jolicloud'
Well i am getting my second gen. But it is not linux. I have windows xp which is Slight easier and faster to work with. Im not a huge fan of linux. So idk.
omg can u plz help me if u did can u tell me how you got the computer to turn back on because this is the second time tht it shut off on me and it wont even let me charge it i tried everything and nothing is working
so what netbook would ya recomend? thats not overly priced? im lookin for one right now for work, im an instructor for fire academies and need it for reports online checks and presentations. let me knw what u would recomend
If you are unhappy with yours ("I'm doine with it"), sell it to me for $100 shipped and we will both be happy. :-) My wife keeps trying to steal my Eee so she needs her own...
I think it would work fine for college; use the built-in KB in the classroom then plug in your fullsize usb keyboard/mouse/monitor at the dorm when you need to type in that 5-pager at the last minute. :-)
Thing is, you've gotta know what to expect when you get a netbook...
You should be tech savvy if you plan on putting your own os on it (because at the very least it's going to require an external DVD drive, or a bootable flash drive basically set up like an install CD/DVD)
And you shouldn't get one if you rely on optical drives. You can get an external but it kind of defeats the purpose of a netbook. Also, don't expect a ton of power, but they can play vids and basic games (like peggle & such)
Im gettin this laptop soon. Its my first laptop. I have one question: Is linux those tabs that say like, play, learn and stuff like that? All I know is that it comes with linux and you CAN install Windows. So Windows is waht most people have on a full desktop? Sorry for the questions I'm clueless.
Yeah I heard better reviews on the Acer Aspire One. Again, its up to the user. I thought I was going to love it because it was light... if you need help, let me know.

Yes Linux has tabs like you mentioned. If I were you, I'd check the Acer Aspire One.

Great review. But I've been thinking of getting an Acer Aspire One. But still not sure about netbooks. ^^

I recommend the Acer Aspire One. It had a better review than the Asus.
