I can't wait to get my loom. I have the other set and I have made so much. Scarfs, hats and leg warmers. My daughter and I work together. I have made hats for the homeless. I can finish a basic hat in just under 3 hours.
mikey do u still have this loom in the package S loom like the one u are showing i wanna make blankets for cancer patients and homeless people ? please get back to me how much would you charge me i live in new jersey
@Stephy27Pooh hello.....I asked mikey if he had a serenity loom he wanted to sell. He said he has one but doesn't want to sell it at this time in case he needs it for reference later ....cathy@mikeys helpdesk :)
there is a website called dalooms.com and they sell an Infinity loom. Is this the same thing? also, I saw on this site that there are 2 different things that look exactly the same. One is a knitting loom and the other is called a rake? Which is the one used here?
@DoyleTribe This is not D.A. Looms. Serenity Looms are no longer made. D.A. Looms is selling a high end version of this. Hand Made, Nylon Pegs and a Stunning tool really. The equivalent of this is called Infinity II.
@DoyleTribe Hello ....these looms are not the same thing. This blue loom is called the Serenity Loom. Many find them very hard to use so they didn't do very well on the market and are no longer being made by the manufacturer....DAlooms took the same idea with the infinity 2 loom but improved things to make it more user friendly....I hope this answers your questions.....cathy@mikeys helpdesk :)
This is really cool. Why are they not making them anymore? I did see on Ebay that you can get them from overseas but they're not cheap, nor is the shipping. That's too bad, I never saw them when they were in the stores, would have gotten one if I had. :(
I have never seen such a thing before. What happens when you do about 6 or so more rows, surely the pins will have no more room for thread to continue the knit? Am I missing something?
@orlamdc hello........ good question...... you continuously wrap and pull over and off the pegs to make room for more yarn when loom knitting.....cathy @ mikeyshelpdesk... :)
Hello my name is Nelly, I am from Peru, Lima and one of my hobbies of tissues is the loom, and I would buy the looms I've seen on this page and let me know how I can acquire and if you could tell me the price, thank you atencion.Espero your answer my email is nellyali@hotmail.com
I've never seen one of these before! it looks amazing!! ahh of course they dont sell these anymore D: i wonder if it can be made with other materials? hmmm THANKS FOR THE VID!! ^o^
@RockMyPartyKesha im not sure how much Mikey paid for this when he bought it but they are not available in stores any more so your only option is to get one 2nd hand so not sure how much it would cost you???? you can check ebay garage sales etc..... chanel@mikeys helpdesk :)
I love knitting looms y my daughter is special needs and left handed Ive tried to show her how to crochet and knit but she just couldn't do it so I saw knitting looms in micheals one day so I bought them and to my surprise I only had to show her a couple of times how to wrap and pull up the stitches and she loves it these are amazing crafting tools
i was almost hypnotized watching this im going to go look for a loom today, ive been a knitter for a few years but when all you know how to make is scarves it becomes boring quite quickly hahaha
@taintedbyurtouch ~ i had no idea.... i have never seen an s loom nor have i used one... they are not sold in stores anymore and they are a pain to work with so have never bothered with it! the one mikey is using in his videos is pretty big but not sure of the sz.....
Is it possible to make a blanket with any other loom? I have 4 sizes of the round and 4 sizes of the Knifty Knitter long loom sets. I am looking to make a queen size blanket. Please help.
That straw idea is really clever. I think it would help speed up casting on - and knitting - on any loom, and maybe make the stitches more consistent too (because it's easier to keep the tension even).
I tried loom knitting a couple of years ago and went back to my needles because needle knitting was faster for me. But I think now I want to try it again - with a straw. I wonder if a coffee stirrer would work; they're pretty stiff... (tip: You could also use a piece of wire as a threader.)
i am looking for a serenity loom and i cant find one..plz help..if you know where i can get one plz let me know..i want to make my mom a blanket.....plz..GOD bless..p.s.I LOVE YOUR WORK AND YOUR VIDEO'S....YOUR THE BEST..TELL DAN HI
@christyjgregg serenity loom have been discontinued and are no longer availible in stores....they are on ebay sometimes or you can try to get one second hand.........
Wow, I like your straw idea. I've had a very hard time, with any loom in fact, getting my yarn around the pegs. I've always done it by hand. Thanks for the creative idea.
@kdhuddleston These looms are no longer being made. THey stopped making them in 2009 and liquidations happened in the stores in early 2010. Only way to find one now is to see it in a garage sale or watch EBAY to see if anyone is getting rid of their. They were hard to use... really hard... making probably for low referrals to make this item popular or profitable.
oooh yay! good thing u showed this as i haven't used my serenity yet. i think i have a straw like that which came with some toilet stuff i had to buy. (NOT used of course...haha!) i tend to loom too tight at times, so this probably gives a good tension
@horses4everyone1 yeah there is a link on my website for online resources to buy looms. Hobby Lobby has stopped selling them as you are already aware... Sources tell me these are no longer being made... Not surprised... they are difficult to use and more challenging than the average loom knitter cares for.
@mikeyssmail hey thanks for the reply.. ive been looking for one forever..cant find it..hobby lobby doesnt carry them anymore..ebay is too much money..=[ so sad
@mypnut429 They are difficult to work with which probably reduces popularity... great concept but the S Shape provides challenges that can be frustrating.
I know you'll share when you figure out the secret! On the yahoo loom group one of the users was saying that they actually broke theirs! and recommended a wooden one from here: cindwoodcrafts
I was wondering what it looks like on both sides.........when you have some of the blanket done. I am not happy with the underside of blankets done with the e-wrap on normal looms, (too loosy goosy). (don't want little toes getting caught up in that underside !) ...with the pegs on this closer together......does it turn out better ?
@gambrell104 I find the 2 strands is too hard... you are better with a thicker good quality yarn with this... The 2 strand method is extremely tight and difficult to get over the pegs... and I believe it's because the pegs are nearly half the width apart from the cheapy looms that are on the market. :)
