  • Theres somethin missing in there

  • The next zelda timeline games should pick off from spirit tracks or Four swords cause toon link is beast!!!!!

  • you sound real pissed

  • 1) "dying" only meant the hero could be reborn. it does not mean he has to die, it means a new timeline is opened.

    2) link to the past wouldnt have existed because of a different series of events. the hero of time DID exist, and you are wrong if you think otherwise.

    3) link goes back in time, informs everyone of the events to come, and they execute ganon before this. as you see from the timeline, hes not permanently defeated.

My verdict: Watch Donnie Darko. I wanna see your pea-brain explode.

  • I'll tell you why they made this timeline: just like the three prequel movies that came after the real star wars they're presenting you with something that doesn't add up with what they themselves have created so that they can make money. Doesn't need much more explaining than that really.

  • Know what? Disregard my last comment...I'm just going to go back to my life where I was ignorant to this timeline stuff...those were happier days ;3;

  • The one thing that I could think of is in the Adult timeline Link just kinda...lives the rest of his life as an adult and passes away before Ganondorf fuckin' pops himself right back into existence.

I dunno...the whole thing is just convoluted as hell.

  • so it was ment to do that but i isent the canon ending because majoras mask is a importent event becasue of well i dont know maby link stoping to MOON FOR STOPING HISTORY THERE! so the first legend of zelda ISENT SUPPOSID TO BE THE CANON ENDING and skull kid is likly to survive and take them mask evan if you die in ocorena (srry for my spelling d:) of time and its up to the player what happens you can die and start that time line or you can live and start the dule time lines

  • one quick thing ocarina hero there probably will be more games coming out out ........ like a prequel to wind waker..... and the other problems with it

  • WTF YOUR SUPPOSED TO DIE

  • You can't tell the people who made the story its bull lol. Thats like telling Nintendo that Donkey Kong isnt a monkey.

  • @TheNewBCW hes not, donkey kong is a gorilla

  • MOTHER FUCKER! I beat Ocarina of time and didn't die in the end, but I also played all the games that had come out before that besides four swords, and so by not dying you're telling me i caused the games to not exist?! As in translation: AS IN I DID ALL OF THAT SHIT FOR NOTHING?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • Minish cap cant go after skyward swird because at the end the master sword is put away ON THE SURFACE and thr only humams left on land were zelda and link so after centuries the Sword magically reappeared in some whp knows what pedestal cuz the original is in the statue if the goddess which also on the surface -_- nintendo how is it that people who didnt make the game seem to know a little more than you do?

  • The hero is defeated thts stupid cause the game ends with ganondorf being sealed away and why would the timeline split ganondorf is sealed away and anything set to happen after tht dosnt happen cause link is sent back to live his life as a child differently which led to mm and any sequels to it i dont believe there is an actual timeline some games are connected but not all of them

  • I havn't played Skyward Sword, but I have always thought there were three timelines. The Adult Timeline, where Link defeats Ganondorf and leaves, the child timeline, where link never pulls up the Master Sword, so Ganondorf never gets the Triforce, and the other child timeline, where the events of Young Link's side of the game takes place but not Adult Link. I guess in this timeline Ganondorf wins. This is just my opinion though, but my timeline was almost exact except for OoX and FSA

  • Why is Skyward sword first? How come people in Skyward sword were saying they remember Link & Zelda always being so close together when they were kids?

  • Your timeline will always be the one for me.

  • Theory:

After the Hero of Time's defeat, Zelda obtains the Ocarina of Time and plays the Song of Time to send Link back in time, where he faces Ganondorf once again and Seals him away. Of course this raises the question: how is he alive when he is sent back in time if this is the case. The same logic would be used to explain this as it would to explain why, when Link returns the Master Sword to the Temple of Time, he is once again a child seven years in the past.

  • what the fuck that no have seens in first time vatie destroy the master sword in the mins cap and link tansform the sword in the 4 sword and magicly in ocarina the 4 sword is transformed in the master sword again

  • In a magazine I read (I think it was Game Informer), Miyamoto said that there was a timeline, but it was only known by a handful of people so the dev teams would focus on the game they were brought in for and not try to do anything with an overarching story. However, seeing this timeline only brings to mind one word: MISINFORMATION! I can totally see Nintendo publishing some BS timeline to get people to stop trying to figure it out. Or worse: because people were getting too close solving it.

  • I think they drew names out of a hat and maybe added a few time line spits for fun. it was not all that logical.

  • befor the game i noticed words read them and all will be clear

  • This video is crap, you sound extremely confused on things that are all too clear,

    1. IT WOULDN'T BE FLOODED IF GANON WASN'T THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. Which he clearly wasn't.

    2. Complaining about a defeat timeline saying that to go down that timeline you need to die isn't a flawed timeline it's an ALTERNATE timeline or rather the original timeline that would have been without link. It's not bad it just means thats the path the world would take.

  • does this video mean you will never play a Zelda game again?

  • We all know that this isn't the end of the zelda sieres si maybe there are future games to fill us in on some of the gaps?

you know, like the oatch of the golden era?

  • Just to say IF you got defeated in ocarina of time wouldn't the things that you supposivly did if you won not happen. Just thinking aloud here so I'm not that sure but that's my best understanding in that timeline which is making me,you , and a lot of other people confused. So ocarinahero10 would this make any since whatsoever on how nintendo came up with this?

  • Man not even the DBZ timelines are that srewed up.

  • Hey I may be wrong but I think tht the link from the defeated timeline is the knite that teaches link fighting moves in twighlight princess so the defeated timeline served a porpuse

  • @Machoman3227 It's been stated that OoT's Link is the Hero's Shade by Hyrule Historia. But he is NOT the result of the ALttP continuity taking hold. If anything, it's far more likely that the Hero's Shade died of old age before ever becoming the Hero's Shade.

  • That's bull shit

  • Well nintendo obviously isnt telling us something and they might (but probably dont) have the complete zelda story all figured out and saved in a vault deep under japan only 400 feet away from the center of the earth protected by thousands of stalfos, goomba's,and metal miyamoto's standing behind every security system ever created...But probably not.Probably just making up a story and having fun while doing it. All the dots dont need to connect perfectly Gameplay makes a game not story line

  • @Simpoldood woow.. That's like every theory combined into one.. Fu**!

  • but the hero is deafeted timeline os made if the hero(link) is defeated

  • What theory is Nintendo using in "time traveling"?

  • @TheRanguna They're using the "I-can-do-whatever-the-hell-I-want" time travel theory, no joke. It's a mash-up of linear cause & effect mixed in with parallel/alternate dimensions plus wormhole time gates that are immune to the relativistic effects of time dilation.

  • Dear Nintendo. WHAT THE FUCK WHERE YOU THINKING.

  • so the hero os deafeated timeline is unfinished and theres still gaps in all 4 timelines so the next zelda games are going to fill in those gaps if were lucky there might be one about the war for the triforce as told in a link to the past beacuse there was a link apart of that as the same for zelda and ganondorf bit sadly every link dies sonner or later beacuse of old age or in battle

  • also the hero is sucessful timeline on the adult one the gqnondorf on that timeline got killed the same as for the child timeline

  • ill tell u now how it happened after defeating ganon and sealing him away in the sacred realm link goes back 7 years where ganondorf is still there so when link gets the ocarina of time and goes to termina he leaves hyrule unprotected so ganondorf takes over hyrule like in the oot game so zelda has to become sheik and reawaken the sages by herself as sheik then her and the sages seal ganondorf into the sacred realm creating the hero is defeated timeline beacuse link failed to protect hyrule

  • check my channel tomorrow at 4:00 central time ill make a vid telling u how theres a hero is deafeted timeline

  • THIS MAKE NO SCENES THEY SAID IN A LETTER THAT THERE WAS NO TIMELINE AND THEY CALL THIS SHIT A TIMELINE THAT`S JUST FUCKING RETARTED

  • link was teleported to the two lands of the oracle games by the power of the triforce, he then sails back to hyrule, but he is attacked by a thunderstorm which he dreams of an adventure. he returns to hyrule to find that ganon is revived by his minions and has taken over hyrule. link defeats him, and since hyrule is destroyed, the people move to the north and make another hyrule.

  • @QuackerMan45 TLoZ!Link =/= ALttP!Link.

  • wait so by your theory if i die in any givin zelda game depending on which it is there will be another zelda game? and by the way you forgot about the horoes shade, link did die but waited a century for his ancestores or for yet another hero to be born

  • I just don't follow your imprecise logic. or the way that you link together your ideas. I agree some bull S is present, but still. sorry

  • Even Shigeru Miyamoto or Eiji Aonuma don't know the timeline,it's too complicated...and a single game could just destroy ALL this...no matter what,I am still a Lineralist, say what you want about it...

  • other games could fit in between that we dont know about yet

  • Wait, in skyward sword in which part of hyrule was the masters sword left in?

If you said picklefishlips your wrong.

The masters sword was left in faron leading me to believe that twilight princess is next in the timeline.

  • @russmantechandreview You know how in SS Lake Hylia is in the southeast corner of the map? If you take the SS map and shift it so that the Lake Hylia lines up with the position of the lake on the OoT map, the location where the sword is left at the end of SS is about the same as where you find it in the Temple of Time in OoT. We're not getting the whole picture of Hylia in every game.

  • @sojirofreak Sorry, I meant "whole picture of HyRULE," not HyLIA.

  • If in links awakening there is an underwater apocalypse, shouldn't it go on the same side as wind waker?

  • I get it, and I respect and sorta understand the timeline.

  • This timeline makes sense and there is clearly room for my games in the timeline which will fill up the gaps.

I think he's just angry that his timeline wasn't exact when he had worked on it so much.

  • @FireGrey no actually it dosent make sense one reason being is that one little split "the hero is defeated" side. It makes no sense what so ever. First being the flood. This is saying the flood was somehow prevented if link dies fighting Ganon. That wouldnt work at all. Also where Link's awakening is put. This makes no sense also because he got washed to that island exploring the sea thus making it come after or before wind waker . I think they are just trying to test our knowledge of the games

  • @doomfire675 sorry i meant after or before phantom hourglass

  • @doomfire675 The fact that Ganon possesses the Triforce in ALttP would like to disagree with you. Even though Link was defeated in the ALttP continuity, the Seven Sages still managed to seal Ganon in the Golden Land. Then The Imprisoning War happens, where Hyrule's Knights fend off the incoming invasion of Ganon and his army.

And Link's Awakening can't come after Phantom Hourglass because Link was sailing solo in that game, and it was stated to come after A Link to the Past before PH was made

  • this timeline......i don't buy it

  • i think that skyward sword is most important because then gannondorf would have ruled because if u know gannondorf is demise but he changed form to rule hyrule so he did not look as evil plus gannodorf was weeker because it took to much power from him and he regained his power along with his memory in twilight princess

  • Your timeline was WAY more plausible. Nintendo can't even make sense of their own shit.

  • @BVisionProductions Ofcourse they can, they just haven't explained it yet.

  • i hav a timeline. its this timeline, plus the cartoon series, the computer drawn anime youtube series, and the Zelda CDi games. coming Feb 12, 2012

  • awakening goes after the oracle games because at the end end of the oracle games after using the password and defeating the real final boss of both games, it shows link leaving on a boat, and link appears on a boat in awakening. so it actually makes near perfect sense

  • my theory is that, the Link from Oot is the most important. since he is the Hero of Time, doesnt that mean he can go to any time he desires to help beat ganondorf and what not

  • @Venom0wnz Sorta, since at the end of Ocarina of Time, Zelda takes the Ocarina of Time from Link and sends him back to a child. At the very end, he goes back to Zelda, asks for the Ocarina of Time, and heads for Termina, the location of Majora's Mask to search for Navi, since she left him at the end. So, he still has the Ocarina of Time, but he cant travel through time for some reason.

  • @SSBBPlayListMaker oh i didnt know

  • @ocarinahero hyrule was not flooded in the "we forgot you timeline"

  • time line (the hero is successful timeline) it splits agian after he defeated ganon and was sent back to the child era which became mm. so then in the other part of the successful era there was no adult after he was sent back and that was why in wind waker they said he never showed up. im sorry if i made this really complicated.

  • @ocarinahero10 in oot when link was on his quest to get the mediallians didnt he have to go back in time to get the lens of truth? if that happend then i think that is where he was defeated, he just never showed up. i think that when he goes back to get the lens of truth the timeline splits into two, because if he went back in time to get the lens then he already changed the adult timeline he came from. so then after he gets the lens of truth and goes back to the adult

  • There are so many blanks in the timeline like after Skyward Sword. Goodness knows what game is next. Maybe they'll explain the Hero of Men from The Minish Cap? O.o

This timeline caught me right off guard.

  • Ok so where dose Dark Link come into play?

  • HOLD ON! now remember what Shigeru said there will be more. that mens some where in the timeline it isn't completely GAME OVER!

  • maybe we can get more games that can come in between :D

  • I wasn't expecting the third timeline. I tend to agree that this third timeline is just an attempt to make fit all the pieces of the mess of a continuity that is Zelda. But, since it is still kind of a mess, most of us fans can just keep making up our own timelines and pretend this never happened, right? :P

  • They can, as long as they don't shove their preferred fanon down the throats of those who acknowledge the official timeline itself. (And I actually think it's pretty straightforward myself.)

  • @ryuwind23 Not really.

  • The imprisoning war depicts the timeline where link is defeated and none of the warriors can weald the sword. Thus he is sealed in the dark world with all three triforce by the sages.

  • ok ask any question you want but i wana know when its coming in english

  • Okay... The reason that the original split timeline theory worked was because both of them had been MADE. How could the third timeline have been made? When Zelda sends him back, that make the original two timelines, but dying sends you back to the last "checkpoint", NOT creating another timeline... GOD

  • @SK8Paradoks In real life, you don't reappear at a "save point"; you DIE. THAT'S what they're basing it on.

  • DUDE ! watch this video! it explains how the 3 timeline things make sense! /watch?v=umS4flaa-20 BUT you should make a new timeline and rearrange the games so it makes sense!!!!

  • The issue of "flooding" in the new third split doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Hyrule was never flooded in the "Hero Fails" timeline. In fact, it makes perfect sense to put the Oracle games after LttP, then put Link's awakening after the Oracle games. Why else would Link have been called on to check the Triforce in the Oracle games. Plus, in the linked ending, we see Link sailing away from Hyrule. Hyrule was never flooded because Koholint Island never existed. LA was all an illusion.

  • I hope you understand the reason the timeline is so choppy is cause more games have to be made to explane more of the story.. Like your links awakening to the first and second zelda assumption.. a new game needs to be made to tell us why there is no longer any water. and why Gannon reappeared.

  • thump´s up if you are seeing this video in 2012

  • @elreydereyes12 tell me why did you just say that?

  • @elreydereyes12 nobody thumbs up this guy

  • I see one flaw in your review, you're looking at it like all three timelines are happening simultaniously, while technicaly they are, they are segregated. An easy way to put it is think of the Android/Cell saga from DBZ, though Trunks may have changed their future he didn't change his own. When link defeated Ganon as an adult that timeline was essentialy cast in stone, when he returned to the past there was no link in the future to stop ganon which lead to the events of Windwaker.

  • @Leonhyrulious You are aware that his issue is NOT with the time split itself, but with the new third split (i.e. the one you didn't mention)

  • hmm... looks like we got some fighting going on :3 I might watch.

  • That still doesn't tell me where CDI zelda fits into this whole mess. *shot*

  • I think they split it into 3 branches so that no fan's theory of the timeline that were submitted could have been correct.

  • @pkstarstorm1up Why would the Offical time line never be revealed

  • And if they are saying that the Hero defeated timeline is a what if timeline that doesn't really happen, then that means that all of the games in that timeline aren't canon and never happened. Really whoever thought this up is stupid.

  • This isn't true. There is no proof that it was released by Nintendo. It was just released by fans in Japan.

  • 52 people thought the original LoZ goes first

  • @MegaBLYSTONE 52 people know LoZ doesn't go first, and that this dude is a whiny baby.

  • @ThatOneGuyYouSaw15 No he's not. He's pointing out actual problems with this supposed official timeline (hint it's not official. Whoever first said it is is a liar.)

  • *Me getting killed by Cuccos in Ocarina of Time*

Me: SHIT NOW A LINK TO THE PAST IS GONNA HAPPEN!!!!

  • In the defeat timeline, there is never any mention of Hyrule getting flooded. The reason Link was at sea was because he was looking for adventure using the boat that he got at the end of Oracle of X. Besides, it was stated in the Japanese manual for ALTTP that the seven sages couldn't find anyone worthy of using the master sword, so they had to seal the powerful Ganon in the Sacred Realm itself, instead of the evil realm where they could have sent him had Link weakened him enough. So, there.

  • I had respect for this guy, but now I'm convinced that he's a whiny brat that didn't get his way; whatever.

  • @ThatOneGuyYouSaw15 No he's just pointing out actual problems with this false timeline. It wasn't actually made by Nintendo people just started a rumor saying that it was and people took them seriously.

  • @pkstarstorm1up At no point did he say this was not from Nintendo (in fact, he even says that this is from Nintendo in both the video and description).

Even IF this is truly a made up timeline, ocarinahero10 is still treating it as the official thing, and is less "This is why the timeline is not real" and more "WTF Nintendo"

  • @ThatOneGuyYouSaw15 Well it isn't. There hasn't been any official confirmation that this is actually from Nintendo. Plus the fact that Aunoma stated that the official timeline would never be revealed automatically discredits this.

  • Comment removed

  • @pkstarstorm1up Go google "Eiji Aonuma Zelda Timeline"; he admits that this is the official timeline, yet still throws out the "there may still be contradictions" disclaimer.

  • @ThatOneGuyYouSaw15 No he didn't.

  • @pkstarstorm1up Okay, don't believe me; whatever then.

  • The reason for the tertiary timeline is The spirit temple. since he went back in time to get the power of silver, it created an alternative future to where Ganon is stronger, or the future was changed once again. When Link returns with the power of silver to finish up the spirit temple and do what was needed to be done from there on, Ganon was either too powerful or Link just failed in general. Don't ask me, this is what I think, and in turn what the creators might have thought.

  • @Drake117 You can't create another reality just from time travelling. It doesn't work that way.

  • LEARN THE LENS OF TRUTH THEORY!

  • something that really bugs the crap out of me is when sheik revealed herself as zelda and you were escaping in the castle why dosnt she form back into shiek and they could have escaped FASTER

  • @exqsshadowblade330 Himself.

  • 2:55 That's probably why Miyamoto and Aonuma CLEARLY STATED that the games never really had a distinct timeline and it was up to the player to determine. The developers obviously threw this together to satisfy fans like yourself who need an explanation for a series that's already extraordinary. Back down.

  • @g3hcl101 The developers didn't create this. Despite what is said this wasn't made by Nintendo as there hasn't been any official word from either Miyamoto, Aunoma, or Nintendo about it.

  • Regardless of how wrong this guy may or may not have been you guys cannot just jump out and start complaining about his opinion. This guy actually had most of his facts straight when he made his timeline unlike most of you all out there. even if nintendo's word is "final" you cannot blame him for not agreeing with the timeline because it is fairly shaky, as is anyone elses who has ever made one.

  • @WortheyClaye his timeline was way off i've always said there were 3 timeline and nintendo agrees

  • @dragonjedi101 well the three timeline theory is kind of flawed as well when you think about it because it has what is basically an optional timeline. this implies that one or two of the other timelines have a possibility of never really occurring which doesn't make complete sense.

  • Dude your timeline sucked anyway you were no where close to finding the truth. Btw Link's Awakening is an obvious sequel to the Oracle games. Smh.

  • Link's Awakening have always been just after Oracle Series, because he return to Hyrule.

  • Technically they can put an extra branch to the timeline wherever they want. Problem?

  • I don't think he knows what the sealing war is at all. If you think about it, it actually makes sense. though, with the release of new zelda games, the timeline will probably change again, hopefully finding a way of having a maximum of two split timelines, because I agree, the 3rd split timeline is really unessesary.

  • Wow you're amazing! You know more than the creators of the Zelda series!

Oh wait...no you don't. Embrace the timeline bro, it's OFFICIAL.

  • god you're a nerd...an angry nerd.

  • I get your issues man, except one thing. Link's awakening makes absolutely no referrence to a submerged Hyrule. It states link is training abroad. Interetingly enough, in the true ending of the Oracle games, we see Link depart the setting of those games on a sailboat, kind of like the one he's in at the start of Link's Awakening. So it really does fit there.

  • i don't care about thier timeline when i bought the games i own them i have my own timeline

  • go to google type in 'legend of zelda timeline' click on the first link read everything on the page,

    everything is explained.

  • GUYS ISN'T IT OBIVOUS LINK LOSES AND GETS REINCARNATED (because if you ever noticed in almost every intro to the game they always talk about the past hero of time also known as an old/dead Link and there's always a new hero to stop the current evil that's even why zelda is a goddess reincarnated and so is the hero and at the end of skyward demise is actually gannon reincarnated as well just watch his last words in the game this is why Link exists still) THUS HAVING A DEAFETED TIME LINE POSSIBLE

  • @RagingNuke Demise isnt Ganon re-incarnated...Skyward Sword is the origin story of the entire series.Ganondorf and his re-incarnations are re-incarnations of Demise.

    REINCARNATION INSIDE REINCARNATION

  • Link lost the battle because in one past (the first past) he didn't get the lens of truth. Because Link doesn't get the lens of truth Impa wasn't saved. So Link couldnt defeat ganon because he didnt have the help of ALL the sages

  • but guys! his time made a HOLE LOT MORE FUCKING SENSE! he got an email from nintendo saying there is no time line. why all of a sudden there IS a time line? saying "the hero dies" is DUMB because...he says why in the video :/ so im gonna pretend his timeline is the real one

  • Dude, this is the offical timeline! Wow you just think because yours is wrong this one has to.

  • 2:30- zelda doesn't seal ganon away if the hero of time is defeated. instead, there is the imprisoning war in which ganon is sealed away at the end. (a war which is avoided completely if the hero of time is successful).

the reason why the hero can be "defeated" in OOT is because of the time travel element in OOT. when link goes back in time, then back to the future again, he creates another split, and the future which he just left is the future with the hero of time (thus he is "defeated")

  • @33LB You can't create a split in time just by time travel. It doesn't work that way. Just because you time travelled doesn't create another universe with replicas of the people in it.

  • @pkstarstorm1up yes it does.

when link first goes to the future, the well is full and he doesnt have the lens of truth.

later in the game, when you go back and return to the future again, the well is empty and you have another item.

essentially, you are in another split in the timeline, which is very similar to the one you just left.

the timeline which link leaves is the one that ganon conquers.

  • @33LB No it doesn't. The well was never full in the Future. There was a rock blocking the way into the well in the future but there never was any water in it. Plus you can't create an alternate reality just like that because if you go back in time before you ever time travelled then you cancel out all of the events that occurred thus only leaving one timeline.

  • @pkstarstorm1up my mistake.

but still, when you go back in time, you don't "cancel out events". you leave that world, and when you change things in the past, then that creates yet another alternate future. the future you were in just doesn't magically vaporise into nothing.

  • @33LB Yes it does. Unless it's a time travel story where it is shown that more then one time period exists at once (like in Sonic 06 where Silver's future exists before the events that created that future actually happened) then travelling back before then cancels it all out. The end of the game where Zelda reset everything and made the whole game nothing more then a dream shows that.

  • @pkstarstorm1up you think the adult timeline doesn't exist?

sorry, but your opinion has been refuted by nintendo, who have clearly stated that the split timeline theory is correct.

and if you believe in the adult and child timelines, then you must also accept that there is an additional timeline for link returning to the past after being in the future.

  • @33LB No I don't. They said that there are two endings to the game. That doesn't necessarily mean that there are two different time periods happening at once, it could just means that there was one ending to the game, but Zelda decided to reverse everything to make it never happen.

And also at the end of the game he doesn't go into an alternate timeline, he goes back to the original timeline that he started off in.

  • @pkstarstorm1up "They said that there are two endings to the game. That doesn't necessarily mean that there are two different time periods happening at once"

    actually, it does.

the adult timeline eventually results in windwaker (which is obvious, with the references to the hero of time and the sages in WW".

at the end of OOT, he warns the royal family about ganondorf's intentions and he is executed, giving rise to the events in TP. *this has all been stated by the developers*

  • @33LB It could have worked much better if the end of the game had it so that everything was reversed (which makes much more sense) and only the people important to the story remembers the events that never took place. Link then warns the King which results in Ganondorf's imprisonment in the Twilight Realm which later leads to Twilight Princess then it later leads to Windwaker where he is sealed forever.

What's wrong with it? EVERYONE DIES THAT'S WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT! That is a

  • @pkstarstorm1up well that sounds a bit silly to be honest. so only link remembers it, but no one else dose? does link have some sort of magic memory? the ending to ocarina of time is perfect, how the legendary hero has to return to his own time.

with your theory, windwaker cannot follow twilight princess. this is because the people of hyrule would have NO knowledge of the hero of time, if the adult timeline had been "erased". nor would they know about the sages.

  • @33LB No Link, Zelda, Rauru, Darunia, Saria, Ruto, Impa, and Nabooru all remember and thus are able to convince the king.

Yes it can. The people in Windwaker still remember the Hero of Time therefore meaning that Twilight Princess's events could take place in between these two. That's why it's a legend as you say. The King tells the people about what could have happened and it becomes a legend.

They all have great storylines when they are separate but when you try to link them together

  • @pkstarstorm1up right, so you get to pick and choose who remembers the events of ocarina of time and who doesnt?

if the adult timeline was reversed, then in effect it would never have happened and people would have no knowledge of the events. they certainly would not be celebrating the hero of time on a yearly basis.

the funny thing about you complaining that everyone in termina dies is that it ACTUALLY HAPPENS IN OOT RIGHT AFTER YOU PULL OUT THE MASTER SWORD.

  • @33LB Everything is very messy and is a horrible excuse for a continuity. Yes my theory has inconsistencies as well but it doesn't have nearly as severe as one as AN ENTIRE WORLD AND ALL OF IT'S PEOPLE TRAGICALLY DYING!

  • @pkstarstorm1up it's not messy at all. the inconsistencies are insignificant plot points with little bearing on the storyline.

  • @pkstarstorm1up by the way, answer what i said about windwaker-

if everything was 100% consistent, link in WW would not have been able to wield the master sword because he is WAY too small to hold the long blade we see in TP and SS. so do you think link in WW should never have had the master sword, because he's too small? is this rigid consistency the type of thing you want from the zelda series?

  • @33LB

Well WW Link IS the age of Adult Link from OoT. It was his coming of age birthday: becoming the age of the hero of Time, which in the ADULT TIMELINE, is Adult Link. The graphical style is what gave him that small, young look.

  • @LordLemmysLabs *facepalm*

WW link is the same age as adult link in OOT? are you for real or are you trolling me?

so WW link is a fully grown adult despite being much shorter than the adults in the game, and being the same height as the children he encounters on windfall island?

did you play windwaker at all?

"coming of age" can refer to early adolescence.

fun fact- the trophy for toon link in smash bros brawl says he was 12 in WW.

  • @LordLemmysLabs if we followed your concept of a "storyline", link in WW would never have been able to defeat ganon because he's way too small to swing the only weapon that can defeat him.

once again, the game is called the "legend" of zelda. legends change with time and become distorted. different tales tied to a legend won't always be consistent in their details. different people around the world know different versions of the same legend. this is why the games are not consistent.

  • @33LB thing to make canon! None of the people deserve that! This is one of the worst excuses for an official timeline that has been shoved down our throats to be canon! It is the laziest, most annoying, most stupid, and most terrible continuity ever created!

  • @pkstarstorm1up it's better than your version of the timeline, with WW following TP.

WW occurs in the adult timeline after the adult link defeated ganon. everyone knows that.

if everything had to be 100% consistent between each game, then WW link would not have been able to wield the master sword because it would have been too big for him. is this the type of game you want? where everything has to be 100% accurate???

  • @33LB Dude, just stop arguing with him; I know this sounds nerdy, but the fact that he claims that this timeline is fake, doesn't believe in any split in the timeline, uses "everyone dying is horrible" as an actual argument, and constantly spams caps just shows that he's a dumb ass. Not worth the hassle.

  • @ThatOneGuyYouSaw15 I don't believe that it's fake anymore. I admit that I was in denial but I do believe that it is a horrible decision for a continuity.

  • @33LB And even though this has been stated as the official timeline it still has far FAR too many contradictions, errors, uncertainty's, and flat out laziness put into it's making that it's clear that even if this is official Nintendo doesn't know what they are talking about. It's funny that so many of the crazy theories that fans have come up with online make much more sense then the official timeline. Therefore while I'll accept that it is official I believe that it's a load of bull

  • @pkstarstorm1up nintendo stated that their goal with each zelda game is to create a fun self-contained experience, and the overall storyline is secondary to this. this is why there are many contradictions and inconsistencies between the games.

however, the very basic plot points in each game don't contradict the other games. therefore, whenever you notice an inconsistency, it can be simply attributed to the fact that the game is a "legend", and therefore, the storytelling isnt always consistent

  • @33LB Yeah well no matter what the reason that is extremely lazy storytelling.

  • @pkstarstorm1up no it's not, because each individual game has a superb story.

you know, zelda isnt the only franchise with a bizarre storyline.

i think the fact that the game is called a "legend" is a perfect reason for having inconsistencies between the games. as you know, real life legends are distorted with time, and the details may be different in different parts of the world. stories attached to legends are rarely consistent. this is the case with the legend of zelda.

  • @33LB and shouldn't be taken too seriously as Nintendo has really not put any effort into the construction of this timeline and it really is a slap in the face to any Zelda fan. Why? Because with this timeline being official that means that in two of the three timelines everyone in the world of Termina dies, Saria never sees her best friend again, Zelda has to rule a kingdom with no experience, and in one of the timelines Link dies and the world goes into Chaos.

  • @pkstarstorm1up and what's wrong with everyone in termina dying in the adult timeline? it doesn't matter how the shuffle the games around, or alter the timeline, you can never change the fact that link was sealed away for 7 years, and therefore, everyone in termina must have died in that timeframe.

this timeline actually makes more sense to me than the traditional 2-timeline theories. the idea of ganon winning in OOT fits in nicely with the imprisoning war in LTTP.

  • 2:06- the reason why the LTTP link does not appear in the "adult" timeline is because ganon has been sealed away in the adult timeline. hyrule is at peace, and thus, there is no need for the godess's hero to appear.

windwaker takes place hundreds of years after LTTP takes place in the "defeated" timeline, and thus, the LTTP link is presumably dead in the "adult" timeline at this point and the WW link becomes the hero instead.

  • It makes sense to me. Well I shouldn't say that since I haven't beated all games. Actually the only Zelda games that I've beaten are Ocarina of Time 3D and Four Swords Anniversary Edition.

  • Dude on Reddit makes the timeline split make perfect sense: /r/zelda/comments/nlqhn/just_read_the_official_timeline_descriptioni/c3a5l3n
