  • Sweet, the first knife you showed is the knife I bought for $20, I love the scallion. only issue is I don't know if mine is made in the US or in china. it saids Kershaw at the front of the knife, at the bottom and underneath it said Ken Onion USA. But on the blade it has the serial numbers and everything but not the Made in US logo. Can anyone tell me if Kershaw makes their scallions at the US or China?

  • I do like that Twitch II.......

  • For all you people out there saying that knives are weapons, you are wrong! Knives are tools before they are weapons. Weather they are weapons depends on the person holding it!

  • @reefification

Yah but some knives were actually designed to be weapons but can also be used as tools.

  • can you do a review on the sog twitch

  • @cutlerylover just got the kershaw 1660ST from my girlfriend as an early Christmas present because, unfortunately I won't be with her on the day... ANYWAY! love the 1660... Can't ask of anything more out of it! (fast too)

  • The second knife is really nice for a lightweight, small tactical blade.

  • Agreed, 50/50 blades are not down my ally either lol

  • i owned a kershaw but lost it

  • Comment removed

  • steel on the summit

  • get the gerber presto 3.o best knife ever!

  • what knife would u recomend out of the 3

  • my twitch spring broke after only a month of having it :(

  • @lukabert: knives are the most important tools of mankind.

  • @dereinzigwahreaff no the 2nd you forgot the cock

  • @dereinzigwahreaff which is why i love them, and they're so cool

  • Why do you ASSume that a pocket knives purpose is as a weapon?

  • @WindsorFox Well the police sure do, you can get 5 years carrying one on the street in the UK which i agree with. Too many stabbings going on. If you have a genuine use for one fine, most people don't.

  • @ojideagu Sir, you are a blithering moron (or an uninformed kid). And if there is a law there that would imprison someone for five years for carrying a small folding pocket knife, I feel very sorry for the residents and the writer of that law should be beaten. I will check the validity of that with some people I know online from the UK.

  • @WindsorFox Trust me, it is one of the biggest topics in the UK today, stabbings on the street. If you want to go to prison, carry ANY knife on the streets! Up to 5 years. Anyone who carries a knife is seen as a potential criminal here, espeically if they are young.

  • @WindsorFox Even just yesterday a politician was stabbed in the street in my part of London, this is a week after the Election for our new Prime Minister! Knife crime is bigger then gun crime here. You are in for a whole heap of shit if you carry ANY knife. Infact Pocket Knives will get you into even more shit as they are seen as concealed weapons.

  • @ojideagu I will add to this that if you are so much in agreement, then all pencils, pens nails and pointy sticks need to also be banned.

  • @WindsorFox Sorry final "point", Yes if you have a provable clear reason for work, like a Chef, or you can prove you are directly taking it fishing/camping you are usually ok as an adult. Although leaving it lying in your car while parked will get you arrested. Any teenager with any knife will likely be arrested no matter what. Anyway ask your UK friends what they think.

  • I confirmed this magnanimously stupid law. Don't think for a moment that I don't think you are a moron if you agree with that law. Anyone who passed that should have damn well seen the bad consequences of it. Great you now have a good way to arrest a large group of street thugs, but when all the knives are banned only the criminals will have them. Criminals don't follow the rules, that's why they are criminals.

  • @WindsorFox There is no need for people to carry knives in the street in your pocket.

  • @ojideagu And there is no reason for you to carry a dangerous pencil either. Nor should you be allowed to carry a cell phone either, you could hurt or kill someone with it.

People who think like you do should be removed to a small island all by yourselves,

  • @WindsorFox What use is a knife in your pocket in a City? Are you going to hunt some Pigeons?

  • @ojideagu the gun crime has rose tremendously in the uk since the ban there is charts. and your country is extremely uneducated in why a knife is a important too. Ever since the beginning of time man has had some form of knife. The UK raises sheeple, and the government is filled with do-gooders. They think that if they take away items that they deem to be dangerous, the Uk will be the land of lolli-pops and rainbows.

  • @KalConduitman Yes, that's why America has school shootings (Which has never happened here) How many school shootings have you had now?

But yeh, legalised guns and knives are fantastic....

  • @ojideagu Dublin massacre? School shootings have happened there and still do. illegality of gun won't make a difference. If people want to kill they are going to kill, weather its with a gun, knife, fork, spoon, chainsaw, baseball bat. are you saying chainsaw should be banned because there is a chance it can become dangerous, when people use it to cut down trees? How about a car? people get hit with them everyday should we ban them? how about a swimming pool? Your argument sucks

  • @KalConduitman Mass shootings here are usually done with LEGAL shotguns, such as the massacre this week. Farmers are allowed Shotguns and other rural residents who apply. Mass shootings are very rare here. Britain has far lower gun crime then any European countries that allow handguns and rifles.

  • @ojideagu yeah and mass shooting in the USA are done with ILLEGAL guns. The legality doesn't matter. And any way you can do more damage with a frying pan they you can a two inch pocket knife. If you were in school, work and you got stabbed by a two inch pocket knife you are pretty damn stupid. A folder, textbook, pen, pencil, ruler, shoe is longer and would be able to knock the knife away

  • @ojideagu instead of school shootings you have school baseball battings or school frying pan beatings, it doesnt matter the weapon the crazy person will still attack.

  • @Kylef7735 Difference is you can't kill 30 kids in 5 minutes with a frying pan

  • @ojideagu yea but you can kill 10, what about with a car, you can kill 100 people in five minutes with a car, run through a crowd , should we ban every potential weapon.

  • @Kylef7735 Doesn't matter to the killer, If the killer wants to, he/she will find other ways to kill people. These rules make it harder for the law abiding citizens to defend themselves. Not my opinion, just logic.

  • @BlackOfTheWest Exactly my point.

  • @ojideagu you can't kill 30 kids in five minutes with a knife either.

  • @KalConduitman True, but you can't conceal a baseball bat or a frying pan

  • @ojideagu if you have a baseball bat you can put it in a baseball bat bag. And Frying pan, well if they used a frying pan they were really desperate

  • @ojideagu more knives save people then kill people, but the news only reports negative news because negative news wouldn't sell. Plus more knives don't kill people then knives that kill people. same with guns (except in war). Banning guns/knives in the US would boost gun crimes, just like it has in the UK. and people wonder why, Only bad negative news is reported

  • @KalConduitman Gun crime in the US is far higher then the UK. There is no proof it has boosted gun crime.

  • @WindsorFox why do people ASSume your a criminal when ur carying a knife ? ...

  • @WindsorFox Key word in the title: Tactical.

  • Why is the title of this "Tactical"? These aren't tactical knives?

  • by definition all of these knives are tactical, they just happent o be small but they all have one hand operating capability, they all lock up, they all have lightweight atributres and so on...making them "tactical"

  • I don't see how the knife with the locking switch on the back can be tactical. SO If I want to take it out and defend myself, I would pull it out, un-switch the lock on the back of the knife using both hands, open it, and then lock the switch (again using both hands) and then defend myself. It just doesn't seem right? Am I missing something.

  • nooo, you simply keep the extra lock off, so you pull the knife out flick it open and your ready to go, the lock on the back is just in case you dont feel comfortable having an assisted blade in your pocket...OR if you want extra strength and want to lock the lock when open...

  • These are nice knives, but I guess my point is that the SOG is a pretty knife and well made but not what I would consider tactical because of the lack of ease of the secondary lock. For comparison the Gerber Fairburn applegate folder (small). It is one hand thumb stud opening and the locking mechanism is a liner lock with a secondary liner lock-lock that is pushed with the thumb one handed. This knife to me is one of the benchmarks for tactical fighting knives. One handed double lock safety.

  • @madogblue They are more tactical than Opinel or Laguiole knives ...

  • you should see my buck nano. very small but very kick ass

  • i want to know about that miniature balisong you had in the "where balisongs come from" video

  • I don't know if its at all Lowe's stores, or just because i'm in Washington State, but we carry a couple SOG knives and a multi tool at the one I work at.

  • the sog twitch 2 is 70$ at there website.

  • Dude the twitch a Flipper Lockback! Never heard of such a think all the fun of a flipper with the sturdyness of a lockback how can you lose!-Joshua

  • do they really make a liner lock version?

  • you mean framelock? what Im showing is a linerlock...Yes...

  • i guess i didnt know that the 14k summits were disconinued......i pu tone on hold at rei..........pickin it up tomorrow....im so excited......haha

  • i love my twitch 2 i have it for edc

(i live in Washington DC 3in limit)

  • does ur twitch 2 blade have any play casue mine does

  • Adjust it with a torx bit.

  • i did but then it had no blade play but wouldn't open lol

  • Keep tweaking it.

  • I have one with blade play as well. Tried to adjust it out, but I can't get it tight enough to eliminate blade play and have the AO still open the blade all the way. A lot of SOG's folders reportedly have some blade play, particularly the AO and plastic handled models. If it's not enough to effect functionality, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I'm kinda anal about lock up too, but it really only matters in more extreme cases which compromise the integrity of the lockup.

  • @ykparty Mine Doesn't...

  • I have one of the summit series, its a combo edge (yeah i know >.>) with a black polymer finish. Cuts through boxes like butter.

  • i have the first knife

  • That CRKT handle looks like the BM42 or PCC30

  • I can't stand combo edges, I had to buy my endura offline, all my stores only carry combo edge.

  • i grind down the half serated blades, i can stand them!

  • i love my Twitch 2 its my favorite.

  • I got the twitch 2 the best 40 bucks ive ever spent

  • my SOG twitch II if lock on and open i can close if i press the button, wont open though if locked, whats the go with that only just noticed cos your vid....awesome collection

  • hey, ive been watching alot of your vidios and i see you like that kershaw scallion. I just recently got as a gift for good grades a kershaw blur and it is my favorite knife out off all the knifes i have and that my parents have. If you dont already have one i recomend you pick one up and for only 50 dollars its a great deal.

  • wow my fav knife was only 7.99

  • wow must suck is it made in china

  • Thanx again man, left another comment on ur vid, "Knife Mechanism: How Speed Safe Works". I'd like 2 make a vid myself on my knife collection but am new 2 this. What camera do u use? Ur vids look so gud. I just ordered a Samsung SMXF34 w/16GB internal memory. Was that a gud choice? It's supposed 2 b "YouTube certified". Thanx 4 getting me in2 this! Peace out.

  • CL: OK, just went over the knife w/an led flashlight. Only other part I c is "back" of knife, held on by 3 screws on side. If u look where the blade starts to "spring" out in it's travel, it's not even touching this part (begins 2 spring at about 45 degrees). So i'm still confused. Will u do a video on how AO works? I'd really b thankful!

  • please search "cutlerylover speed safe" to see the video, all of the onion assisted models use the same mechanism known as a torsion bar only difference is the bigger models have a bigger bar...

  • U r jumping 2 conclusions Im not arguing Im seeking ur advice The fact that it's a Leek(if I remember)is a moot pt, I thought u didn't know I knew all Ken's knives were named after root vegies in the Onion family Now I've learned from u that the term"liner lock" is realy a"frame lock" if part of frame. Its just that I still cant figure out how it works. Can u c the torsion bar w/o disasembly? If so where do I look? Thought u said u had a video on how AO works, just wanted name so I cud c it.

  • I know about Mr. Onion's play on words. I don't c a tortion bar. Just 2 skelitonized scales (1 of which has a liner lock attached permanently). Don't c any tortion bar that can b removed?

  • Ok so Im thinkign you have a leek because you said a permanant liner lock? the leek has a framelock if I remember correctly, anyway yes there is a torsion bar in there, just take the knife paart to see mit, thats all or if you dotn want to trust me because I know 100% that its in there...lol

  • I know about Mr. Onions play on words but I c no torsion bar that can b removed. Just a bare bones handle w/ a liner lock integrated into 1 side, not removable.

  • I just commented on assisted opening on another of ur videos. C u hav a Ken Onion, I hav the slightly larger version. How in the heck does it work? There are no springs. It bothers me that I can't figure out how it does it. U must hav pondered this urself, any ideas. Keep the vids coming, CL.

  • you have a ken onion model as well, lol they all are, they are all in the onion family yours is eitgher a leek or a scallion....but they ALL work the same havign a torsion bar in them which can be easily taken out...if you wanted anyway...

  • im gonna get the sog twitch 2

  • dats a switch blade!!!

  • Out of the three, none of them were switchblades. They were all spring assisted knives. Which (FYI) is like a switchblade, except they are legal in most states and they don't have a button or lever on the handle to open or "release" the blade

  • sog is good but igot my for 20.00

  • nymphetamine178-- no offense but the location of where a specific company decides to make their knives dose not matter, as long as the quality is good and up, hell you shouldn't care if it is made in china, taiwan, etc. (i dont know of many made in taiwan, but same thing).

  • i got a S&W S.W.A.T. i think unless the swat has a tanto tip then i got something elss. mine hase a doble convex blade

  • EXACTLY!!!!!! Partially serrated blades take more time in the sharpening process and are just all together a bad idea. THE back of the blade however is okay for that application if it is recessed into the handle but otherwise dont do it because who really uses it anyway?

  • get a schrade lightweight sp2. very small and lightweight.

  • i love my sog

  • where was the sog (the second knife) made?

  • It doesn't say on the knife where it was made.

  • It is made in the U.S.

  • small knives, but if you use them right u cud gut someone up real good with them

  • omg my best friend has the 14k summit serries mt.cershaw combo blade!!!

  • i thought the kershaw scallion was a frame lock

  • They make a frame lock version.

  • Could you make a reveiw on the Kershaw Scallion, I am thinking of getting one soon. I am in the market for smaller tactical knives and would like your opinion.

  • The first and second knives had that assisted opening system that I love so much! I had a knife like that a while back made by Gerber. Sadly, I lost that one. Think you could recommend any small knives with the same assisted opening that have a great look?

  • isn't that crkt a reverse tanto?

  • if you still have that twitch 2, could you do a full review on it??

    Keep up the good work

  • boooored more action:)

    (but good Knives)

  • nice

  • since the lock on the scallion is on the base of the handle, is it at all annoying to access it?

  • nto too bad, I use my pinky to put it on and off since I dont hav to change my grip that way...

  • wow man the second one is really expensive for a knife but it looks so good , and the last lighter looks nice too

  • 40 dollars is expensive for a knife? then check out the cold steel calledonian edge or lots and lots of other knives.

i think 40 bucks is on the lower side if you want good quality knives.

  • hehe... tacticool!

  • i have the silver one

  • Can you do a review on the sog twitch 2?

  • @krazypunk50 Don't worry there's a few out there jeff's are way better though. but you can't go wrong with the SOG twitch 2 like its perfection. perfect size so you don't feel like a criminal whipping it out and big enough to do the job. and the spring assist can't be beat.

  • the scallian i got it for about 45 retail price

  • There is a version of the scallion that does not have a serrated edge.. veryyy sharp knife

  • if youre into small assisted opening knives you should check out the gerber fast draw, can get em at walmart for $40, got a good blade and a strong easy to use lock.

  • i went on the colommbia river knife and tool web site they are stilll in

  • whats the website

  • the leek eats the scallion

  • scallion is better.

  • switch blades r illegal where i live do u know what kinda good knifs i should buy

  • That isn't a switchblade, and it isn't illegal most places a regular folder is legal.

  • yah a assisted opening one i have one its just like a swich blade

  • and assisted ones still arent illegal. just big enough difference to make them legal. either way spring assisted or not i can still open one just as fast.

  • Could you make a vid from that twitch II (you you still have it)

    nice vid

  • I absoloutely have to get either a twitch II or a twitch II XL tanto

  • i just bought the twitch II, and its a great knife. its sharp, and easy to use. you'd be glad to have it.

  • cool, i love small knives!

  • cool

  • damn, hope you are able to get it up soon. Awsome review by the way.

  • Hey man, have gotten any new Balisongs, im looking forward to seeing another Bali Review.

  • Actually yes, Im trying to uplaod it, but youtube wotn let em upload anythgin now? Its been like 2 or 3 days now and I cant do crap? Im workign on trying to fix it asap...

  • my step dad has the second knife you showed

  • great vid

  • i have the sog trident

  • Picked up the Twitch II the other day at Lowes for 44 bucks.

Gotta say. GREAT knife. I also recommend it.

  • I just got a Twitch 2 as well.Already cut myself with it.Ouch.Thanks for turning me on to it.
