When I first saw the text of this ability I though it was "Oh, it'll just shoot shots whatever comes near it", I didn't think it was any good.

Then I experimented with the artillery tree and tried it out.

Believe me, I mentally shat myself when I saw that airburst effect and all the dead Germans...

Now I sit at base with a 25 pounder and AT gun with a Stuart rec tank, trolling the Panthers :P

@james79ableify arty is bigger, faster, and stronger than the infantry. therefore, the infantry moves according to the artillery.

with captain, unset everything then just attack all artillery pieces and priest onto 1 points...i find it very useful to take out a whole base in 1 hit

idk about overwatch but when u have a captain and tell him where to tell the arty to shoot, it has unlimited range

oh god, good times, i remem when i did same but instead i had 6 arti batterys covering our bridge, lol at the end of the creeping barrage and tht the bridge was a massive crater, any tank tht tryed to go over it just bounced and dissapeard out of the gamexD. so the enemy left and we wonxD.

i remember on the last german level wen u hav 2 take walkensvaard.i had 3 mobile artillery pieces zeroed on the town u hav to take.i swear not a single building was left intact.i ordered them to bombard the town about 6 or mayb 7 times, and one hummel fires 4 shells ,n i had 3 hummels, so thts..84 shells! after that, the infantry swept forward.but i didnt need to take the victory point, coz the wen they got 2 the town, ther was nuffin left but shell holes! any infantry that survived surrenderd

he could have still won the match. I played this map as the royal Canadian for 15 hours straight with hundreds of men from both sides dead. Luckily (after 12 hours) i killed more men than what the enemy could replace and spearheaded with creeping barrage and victory point at the enemy base, as well as the lutentieant's off based arty. Its fun watching all those rounds fly constancy. And the bridged had a lower elevation than the river and was flat too and tanks fly 50 ft into the air too.

If You used 2 priest too cover territories then you got 1 for the heavy armor, cause the overwatch rounds doesnt do anything on them

those artilery guns cannot shoot at a close range so if the germans were to rush in as close as posible then they would have over run the brits and taken out those priests.

Why would you need trenches to defend a losing victory? At this time all you can is build mass units of the same and rush. Usually for british I say go with cromwell tanks.

mhh.. true about cromwells.. but if you really had to just defend that for the one second if they rushed it would work

otherwise.. mabey some victor target.. brake out on the other bridge.. and a coupple of fireflys with a comand tank might do it
