Also... I don't agree 100% with this bill at all. I think in order to get Amnesty they need to have a clear background and a job. I think the most illegals working in america are in horse industry, agriculture and I forget the other one lou mentions. Or if everyone is so against immigration then maybe they should kick all the foreigners out and make the people who live off of welfare to do the jobs they do, I doubt that will last long.

I worked in the horse racing industry for one of the biggest trainers in America. The trainers don't check if they have papers, they only want a social security card. And I can count on my fingers how many americans worked there. And yeah some have fake social security cards but hey, they still work, taxes still get deducted. No employer in America (exempt construction) would hire someone without a social security card, and that is all the government cares about, their payday.

This bill might actually be a good thing. For example, the part about giving incentives for Mexicans to stay in their own country by paying for a decent education and health care (altho I don't think that alone would be enough to curb immigration) seems like it would be cheaper than paying for all the enforcement measures currently being implemented to keep immigrants out. If we take away the incentive to come here, it might be cheaper for the tax payer over all and more humane for everybody.

Do the math, please. Paying Mexicans to stay home (and verifying that they did) would be much more expensive than enforcing the law against American employers who hire them illegally.

Because our politicians need money from business to run for office. In return for the money, they agree not to enforce the law against employing cheap illegal labor. This is one good reason why we should change the campaign finance system to one of public funding. Otherwise, politicians will continue to favor special interests over the public interest and the will of the people (polls have shown for years that strong majorities of all ethnic groups want the law enforced).

i worked with mexicans for most of my life and even the illegals still have social security cards and they get money taken out of their checks for social security and medicaid to pay for your retirement, and they NEVER see that money again. immigration knows where and who are illegal and they don't remove these people because our whole social security system would collapse when those 20 million peoples income disappears. they have more heart than americans who rather collect welfare than work.

How do you know their SS numbers are not stolen or forged? The fact is that many Mexicans are using fake SS numbers and sending money back home to their families in Mexico, thereby increasing our current account deficit.

some are real because most illegals come here with visas then when their visas expire they just stay here instead of paying $3000 every 9 months for a new visa. and some have false social security cards but the sad thing is they still work! and the only account deficit is caused by the fed reserve which isn't even a government agency yet they control our money and banks! they have been making new bills and coins and don't have any money to back it up. the fed reserve owns everybody in the USA.
