Yes, the singer is Sarah Masen. Jon is married to Sarah's sister Emily. So, Sarah is actually Jon's sister-in-law. I can see why he refers to her as his sister, because in my family, I call my brother's wife my sister, too, although she's technically my sister-in-law.
I adore this song. Thanks for posting this version.

Sarah Masen is a pretty fantastic songwriter on her own. Her husband is David Dark, a cultural critic, author and teacher.
And Mr. Foreman was being silly about Sarah being his sister. She's not.
