Memories from better times when pomped my hair with grease and smoked Lucky Strike's and Chesterfield cigarettes. There is heart in this melody structure.
Oh how I love Brian Setzer. I've been a huge fan since I was 9 when built for speed came out. And this song...well, my name is Gina. Nuff said. I haven't heard two of a kind. I thought I had every track! I need to hear this song!!! He's my absolute favorite guitar player. I even have an orange gretsch. :) wish I could play it like him. I going to write a response song to Gina. Hehe.
So the beats he needs the snare for fall on his left hand - he is playing 16th notes and it just flows nicely that way.
If he had his snare leftie, which Jim is, he would have to lead with his right, so that beats 2 and 4 fall when his right hand is due to hit and it may not flow as good - either that or do paradiddles through the whole song.
Basically, it just suits him to have the tom on that side for that song, and it flows nicely..
Man Thanks for this, it's in my all time top five stray cats songs ever. It's PURRFECT in every way, when Brian plays that Gretch it becomes a living thing, just hope they play Gina at the Brixton gig, I'll be screaming for it. 'YEAHHH'.
Favourite SC' song :}

Does anyone know why Slim Jim play the tom "right handed set-up" when his kit is, and he plays leftie??
