  • ahh... its Doubutsu No Mori!

  • Dobutsu No Mori. Japanese N64 version of Animal Crossing. (Known as "Animal Forest" in Japan.)

  • So is there any difference between the N64 and Game Cube version?

  • @pwninator345 MANY differences. Just google it.

  • and the game cube edition of animal crossing is just a n64 rip...

  • its a real game called animal forest but its Japanese only

  • Watching this video is much more fun then falling of the cliff all day long!

  • It was about to be on the 64. It was close to Game Cube's realese.

  • Animal Forest :P

  • Well, it was planned to be for the N64, then the Game Cube came out so they pretty much took the game and put it on the Game Cube

  • @WooblyShnufflepops yeah originally it was for the n64

  • @200zero well they did release it atleast for the 4

  • @eddypikachu you cant get this as an emulator can you?

  • @200zero

    Actually you can...

    It's called "Doubustu no Mori..."

But you didn't hear it from me. *Hides*

  • @WrinryRockBellFMA <_< thx..*takes*

  • Well... duh?

  • I have the game uning Project64 emu but I really not translated.

  • in the GCN port, They made a translation mistake. Sometimes a villager will say "When I play my NES, I always hold the CONTROLLER BY THE SIDES TO MAKE IT FEEL MORE RETRO." You can't do that with the GCN controller (Or can you o-O) but with the N64 controller, you can. :|

  • Its called animal forest and just came out in japan so we got 3 animal crossings and japan has 4(or maybe 5 if they are working on one)

  • ??? um....

  • This is Animal Forest. Its kinda of like Animal Crossing, but when it was transfered to english, some of the features where lost its almost the same.

  • i need to play this game, i havent played the orginal animal crossing in ages.... ahh brings back memories

  • translate: Girl: I want my own room! Mother: But still its too early. -the animal crossing thing-

  • Japan released Animal Forest for the N64 in April, 2001. They ended up porting it to the Gamecube in December of that year.

The Gamecube port is what made over to the states, and it's pretty much the exact same game. It wasn't really even a spiritual successor, but just the same game on the next-gen console of that time.

  • WTF

  • This is the list of Animal Crossing games:

Doubutsu no Mori (Animal Forest) - N64 (Japan Only)

Doubutsu no Mori Plus - GameCube Port (Japan Only, later Europe in 2004)

Animal Crossing/DNM Plus-e - GameCube Port with e-Reader Support (Japan, USA, not released in Europe since the e-Reader wasn't released there)

Animal Crossing: Wild World - NDS (Everywhere)

Animal Crossing: City Folk/LGTTC - Wii (Everywhere)

  • This was the first Animal Crossing, but it was called Animal Forest. This is also the real commercial. Very old, but a fun game. I think that all the Animal Crossing games should be called Animal Forest considering that this was the first one. But this game is VERY hard to get, really hard to the people that don't use the internet to buy things. Even though I have NEVER played this version, I can see that this was an amazing game to the Japanese.

  • @JoeaddGamer Pretty sure all of them are still called "Dobutsu no Mori" in Japan.

  • KK SLIDER FTW

  • lol can anyone translate???

  • @themysteriousmew I can Translation:ahsdkjlhdsfkjhflashfalkjhdksjhfads :)

  • LOL nintendo 64DD.

  • You speak Japanese?

  • I saw those.

    Good job finding them.

  • WRONG!

This IS real. The japan version was on the N64. The reason why it was moved to the gamecube is because when it was going to be released in the US, the N64 was VERY close to dead. So, they moved it to the gamecube. It was also one of the last N64 games if I'm right.

The gamecube version added few new shops like able sisters.

  • It is real!

  • its real dumbshit. just try looking up animan forest (translated name)

  • No wonder Animal Crossing had N64 graphics.

(Yes, I know, it's Animal Forest.)

  • Ohhh, That Great...Coz Next month Im going to Japan... Do they Still have this game?

  • Its not Animal Crossing. It's Animal Forest. ;)

  • actually it's Doubutsu no Mori.

  • @WillP999 don't forget the 64. I think almost all Nintendo 64 games had "64" in their title.

  • @alexxxxworld

It was just called Animal Forest.

  • This is real but only in Japan.. Look it up..

  • Pause at 0:15 gut with yellow shirt looks funny. xD

  • ...i I mean the GUY with the yellow shirt looks funny at 0:15 :P

  • OMG!

  • Man animal Forest for those people who are complaining Animal Forest was a bit difficult i know one reason is that N64 has no internal clock right!? yes no internal clock meaning you would have to set the time over and over again so Nintendo decided to put it for GCN because it was out by then so they decided to put it on the GCN with slightly better graphics and no setting the clock over and over again. That is why Nintendo probably i said probably made it for GCN instead of N64

    -chaomaster

  • Actuality, i it were traducted will be Animal Forest 64.

They relased it again but with some fixes for GC, so GC version is 64 version but with some fixes and for a different console

  • It's called Doubutsu no Mori and it was released for the Nintendo 64 in Japan only...

  • its a japanese version thats why

  • It is the N 64 version. There really was Animal Crossing for the N 64 in Japan.

This is the commercial for this game on N 64.

  • OH MY GODS! WHY cant we have ALL the good games and all the versions., WAAHHHH

  • i kinda envy the fact that they get most of good stuff (like the fc disk system), i dont want to be racist, but i agree with you

  • It is the same as gamecube version.

  • When they made this, they made a Nintendo 64 version for Japan only. It's cool.

  • They endet up to make it to GC. This was the REAL 64 Commercial. One reason was that GC soon come out in the store, they didn't need the 64 verson anymore ... DUH, the graffic is oozing with 64. you can see that when you are playing animal crossing to Gc

  • whoa such good graphics for a n64 game :p

  • yes but they didnt changed something, Its just like the Gamecube N64 and DS version ...

  • it came out as animal forest for the N64DD in japan first, but they never had the peripheral for the N64 in america so,they came out with animal crossing for the gamecube

  • You didn't know that?

  • jonas paramorex

    dieing is part of life

    nothing can stop it

not even these which don't even do anything

i read like 15 of these and mom doesn't die

so just ignore these the next time yo0u see one

  • It came out for N64 in japan, and America wanted one exactly like it, so therefore the graphics are almost exactly the same. Pretty much the only difference between the games are the language and item count.

  • Yeah, it came out on N64 for Japan, that is why it doesn't have the best graphics.

  • animal crossing came out for the n64 and the gamecube in japan

  • yes the n64 version was japan only, the gamecube version was a remake, however the gamecube version was released in america, not just japan >.>

  • No this game is ONLY for japan and won't ever arrive in America for the reason that nintendo64 has been discontinued in the US.

  • isnt it a joke that EA Sims try to get ahead and make a sim for wii that knock off of animal crossing? lol

  • wasnt the one for the n64 called animal forest?

  • strange you should say that

the japanese version of ACWW is どうぶつのもり,

and translated to english litterally means animal forest

(mori is like forest, or animal shelter etc...)

  • "Animal Forest" is what all of the Japanese titles of the game translate into.

  • This game was made toward the end of the N64's legacy. Since it grew quickly unpopular, they made another version for the Gamecube, the DS, and Wii, which is coming out this year. (yay)

  • Yeah I cant wait for the wii version too.By the way do you have a specific date of when its released!

  • No, sorry. Dang Nintendo hasn't released any info on it. The only sure thing is that it's coming this year! Japan already has it. (dang Japan)There's a rumor that UK is getting it this Friday, but I doubt that is true.

  • Thanks anyway! At least I got something to look forward to.^_^

  • I cant w8 4 the wii version i wanna pre-order it wen every1 can...

  • Probably going to be released info and date soon, because of E3. :3

  • dont get too hyped, there saying it wot be a simulation like the old ones

  • i have the gamecube version and it looks the same as this one!

  • is this japanese? no sound

  • That explanes the blocky grafics but still it was fun and if this was for the N64 than it still had some good grafics for a N64 game

  • i have this game for DS!! It's soooo fun and addicting. I love it! I never knew it was for nintendo 64 tho...gamecube but not this!! but w/e! Thats cool

  • it was originally made in japan for n64 that's why

  • I read about that in a magizene..... Nintendo Power? I don't remember

  • kool

  • The game was just like Animal Crossing, but didn't have a museum, item trading, or patterns. They added those during localization for the North American game, but then decided to release Animal Crossing in Japan as Animal Forest e+ before actually releasing it on our shores.

  • No, thats SMB: The Lost levels. This wasn't released on the N64 because the gamecube was coming out! Its common sense!!

  • this wasn't for the 64dd... it was for the n64 but only released in japan. It was later ported to the gamecube for america with updated graphics, but it's the same exact game as the 64 version.

  • were can i get 64DD

  • yeah we got it for the gamecube a year later

  • Thats why the graphics are so bad!!!

  • This was actually meant for the N64DD attachment. Nintendo moved it to gamecube when the N64DD sales died.

  • I got to play this!

  • Here is how to play it:

First, download Project 64 at the Project 64 website.

Then, download the Animal Forest ROM by looking it up on Google. (Use Mozilla Firefox.) Put it in a folder by downloading it. Run Project 64 and open the file. (Make sure it is an N64 file not an RAR file or a 7z file.)

  • the early graphics for gc were horrible for animal crossing, and now i see why

  • Yeah and the nintendo ds can only do about as good as an N64 graphics wise, I wonder what the WII version will look like?

  • Aww hell no.. I don't even want to think about the greatness :)

  • I beleive it was for the 64DD i think but i maybe wrong. Whats weird is that it looks just like off the gamecube version.

  • Yeah, it was first released as Animal Forest for N64 in Japan. That version didn't make it out in the U.S., but the GameCube version did.
