  • Looking forward to the upcoming remake starring Adam Sandler and Britney Spears (who will dye her blonde hair and even wear panties for the film!)

  • Oh my god 10 p 4 a brandy! I will have a quids worth!

  • On my way to Carnforth station refreshment room this afternoon...

  • A classic if you have'nt got this flim well worth buying

  • a great film which only could be english -i mean if it was french they would have been having sex hanging from the luggage racks

  • THE BEST BRITISH FILM EVER ! so sad but also funny at the same time....

'Now look at my Banbury's, all over the floor' lol

  • In real life Celia Johnson was terribly near sighted and wore eye glasses like coke bottles, that's probably what gave her that adorable vulnerability and far away look,

  • CalloWAY.

  • Did you know that Carnforth train station in the north west of England(the location of the train station refreshment room) has refurb'ed to the way it was in the film and you can go in and have a brew or a meal....

  • Yes, I want to say thank you as well. This is one of my all-time favorite movies. One of which to see every other year or so. At least for me. In the dead of night I get the blankets out, heat up some cocoa and just have a great time with it. I especially love the Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto #2 at the start of the movie to bring out the dramatic nature of the subject matter.

  • one of my favourite films of all time. long before my time, but i adore it. i love the 'this misery can't last' soliloquay. a defintive and complete work of art. i wish i was born in black and white.

  • @naughtyboymessiah I really like your comment. And the film is a work of art indeed. Cheers!

  • Celia Johnson said she found Trever Howard dull witted and boring. Unlike her he showed no interest in crossword puzzles where as she was something of a pro. She said she wasn't attracted to him in the least and couldn't understand why they chose him for the roll.

  • @jdollinter OMG!!!!

  • "she said the social life was quite, quite horrid"!

    LOL!

  • why do people talk so fast ...my god

  • Is this the Victoria Woods version??

  • why do us women fall for this romantic crap? it's just a fim..there are no good men left all liars/cheats

  • @clazza01 Not true: the good men that are "left" are not drawn to people who judge them without knowing them! I get you have been hurt and I am truly sorry for that. I wish you well.

  • @maitlandkalton WRONG!

  • @clazza01 OMG, really? Then why are you so hateful?

  • @clazza01 hateful? you mean tyou have hurt women yourself as you seem to be such an expert on women and their opinions of most men.You are the woman hater!

  • I cant watch this without imagining victoria wood shoving a pork pie into her eye in her parody......... lol

  • del: my favourite bit is where the spaceship comes down

    raquel: thats close encounters

    del: yeah, i love it

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I'm doing this play as my AS-Level group piece and I'm playing Myrtle so this is such a help!

  • Great classic with Australian Eileen Jocye's playing. But here it has been stretched out to the wrong ratio (widescreen). It should be "pillarboxed" on here (black areas either side of the image). There was not widescreen ratio in 1945.

  • i have always loved Rachmaninoff''s musics that's what it leads me to this,by

  • thanks I love this movie

  • Thank you so much for this MASTERPIECE!! :)
