...contd... The only thing he lacked was height.that ocassionaly got him in trouble inspite of the most brilliant judgement and footwork.in the noughties he plays the shot ocassionaly but is still decent at it. maybe you are too swayed by those very popular on youtube sixes of caddick in 2003 wc. Yes they were pre determined but still u got to admit. Were hit some distance. Who doer not guess the lenght from time to time?
@ihamoitc2005 i think u only started seeing sachin from the noughties. In the nineties he had the best pull of them all. He had pulls from behind the square to mid on.he could hit along the ground, high in the air or flat six. As for ur thesis of his anticipating it, actually judgement of lenght was his true forte. He could hit balls just short of lenght powerfully for fours. Also he had the most lightning quick footwork...

@ihamoitc- i pity those who cant appreciate tendulkar. he only remarkable thing about sachin..... yes and the little matter that he has the best defense or the best back foot cover drive and cut and the best straight drive and the best balance and the best judgement of length and the stillest head possible and in the early days even the best pull shot-and later on a decent pull and the best waver and ducker.these things are just not remarkable for you.lol
absolute gem. And we used to remember just the loses and draws. No wonder why tendulkar's most of the good innings did not win matches. There was only one batsman who really scored runs for India.
He faced real pace battery of patterson, marshal and Ambrose with ease and hit them over mid on with brutal power.Wat an innings it was under match fixers kapil dev and azhar
Great job robelinda2, take a bow! I thought I had covered pretty much most of the cricket videos on youtube, but your collection is indeed quite brilliant! kudos!
Well, just in case, you happen to have the Ind WI tied game at Perth in the same season of 91/92.. Was an absolute cracker of a game..
All of us know..his solid defence, his classic straight drive, his mind blowing uplift cover drive, his poetic sweep, his own trade mark uppercut, his classic flick across, his elegant late cut, his devastating square cut. but
WHEN HE PULLS IT...HE IS LIKE A THUNDER STORM...HE IS LIKE A HUNGRY LION..HE IS OUTSTANDING...!!!
@satya2546 Sachin isn't very good at the pull shot. There are at least a dozen international players who can play the pull shot as comfortably as a cover drive or cut shot but Sachin isn't one of them. Sehwag's even more limited.
Have you seen anybody playing the pullshot which goes out of the stadium?
Sachin did it many times.Sachin can place the ball aswell, he can place it through the midwicket or through the square leg, while pulling. Sachin can play the upper cut very well (the inventor of that shot) so it doesnt necessarily mean that he has to pull every bouncer.
Tendulkar only plays the pull when he's expecting the short ball. On those occasions his stance and initial footwork are different. If he has guessed wrong, however, he can be in a really bad position such as when he got out shoulder-before-wicket. Even then, he only plays the pull on flat pitches, ie., conditions in which even Harbhajan Singh can pull fast bowlers. Someone like Dravid or Laxman can play the pull effortlessly at any time because of their footwork.
Plenty of people played the "upper cut" before Sachin. Plenty of people hit the ball out of the stadium before Sachin. In fact, the only remarkable thing about Sachin is that he has played more Test matches than anyone else.
hey rob bro,can u post his 163 vs england at chennai test in 93 his 1st 100 in india? also i need to watch sanjay manjerakar's onli ODI hundred vs SAF at JNU delhi, can u getthat too plzz, india allowed SAF to chase 288 there,+ pravin amre;s 84 at east london in 92 as ind won by 3 wkts,+ the total international series when PAK were all out for 42 vs WI,+1995 mandela trophy when SAF crushed PAK,+ sachin's 1st ODI hundred vs AUS at colobo 94,+ind vs aus at wellington '95 in NZL centenary cup plzROB

@Gillysbiggestfan Yeah it was pretty kick ass summer that one. The big thing was how composed and at ease his technique was, pretty much how it is now, he's hardly every beaten for pace, always plenty of time. Back then he was just so young and just stood out so much, not just the scoring shots but his immaculate defence. I remember Greg and Ian Chappell basically having orgasms in the comm box over his batting, especially his rock solid defence which was awesome.
@robelinda2 oh.. lol.. even if you did say dat then i pretty much feel that its your personal opinion and i have nothing to do with it. i enjoy watching you videos sir. thanks a ton!!!
@Gillysbiggestfan I should post some videos of some ball by ball stuff so people can just see his defensive technique back then over the course of a few overs.
No wonder Tendulkar rarely plays the pull. He has no control over the shot whatsoever. While many of todays batsmen have so much control over the shot that they regularly and safely utilize it even for singles or doubles, Tendulkar's pull is little more than a semi-guided hoick.
yes ponting plays these kinda pull shots..but difference is SACHIN played varities of PULL SHOTS including this..at backfoot// front foot in through sqaure leg..infront of square ..down the ground & in the air...
@robelinda2 brilliant innings from Sachin Tendulkar. Thanks for posting this video. Keep up the good work.

i really love the back foot drive off ambrose. Just two runs but that shot alone is worth 50 runs. Jaw dropping stuff
