As an American in my mid 50's I have friends that served in Vietnam. Even though none of my friends were injured they all have land mine or booby trap stories. Vietnam conflict was notorious for its use of booby traps and mines, mostly by the VC, but US used mines around bases and airfields to provide security. Sadly, after all these years many mines are still dangerous but most have dissolved into the earth. A small ordnance plant just a few miles from my home made mines during the 60's.
