That is insanely cool, did you just do that by linking the geometry of the feathers to the movement of the wing? I'm currently working on an animation that will involve feathers and will need to resolves issues like this also. Thanks for posting!

Yes the feathers are just individual geometry , and each feather moves by set driven keys. So whenever I move the control curve towards the stomach of the bird, the feathers automatically fold in. Not sure whether is anatomically correct :) But its fine for the cartoon bird.

Oh yep the whole skeleton of the rig also contains a pair of joints and bones for each individual feather. Hope that helps somehow :) By the way the bird is also in our animated short "Ruffles" in my video list.
