  • yao can play outside?!

  • "Injury this, injury that, can't do it no more, time to do something else." Leave it to Shaq to sum it up.

  • shaq thinks he's a sheriff.

  • i really miss yao :(

  • fully agree. Top 5 material.

  • Shaq Said it right he need it to keep playing to be considered one of the top 5 centers to ever play the game..

but even now that hes retired you can still say that he was one of the best.

  • Smh if Jeremy Lin fucks up his foot...

  • @StraightDooDoo LOL. Jeremy Lin is much less likely to pick up an injury that Yao picked up. For one, Lin is 6'3, Yao was what? 7'6??

  • shaq giving respect!

  • more like one of the only players to come out of china

  • @anklebreaker318 ever heard of

    Wang ZhiZhi?

    Yi Jianlian?

    Sun Yue?

    Menke Bateer?

yes those players came from china too

  • According to his physician he could have jumped 4-5 inches higher if it weren't for his original ankle injury.

  • He was a future hall of famer...period. A center with a smooth jump shot n hooks....

  • other then Dwight name me a GOOD old school BIGMAN centre left? and im a Laker fan not Orlando so no bias? RIP the old school! Yao was an amazing talent as was the great Shaq

  • @RealPersianPrince DeMarcus Cousins has the talent and the size to be a great center if he can get his head out of his ass.

  • @jaykia loooooooooooooool that made me laugh bruh! hahahaha

  • @jaykia not the DeMarcus but the second part... good point though

  • @cimi93x i love bynum and hes a great center and what u said is true but hes inconsistent and gets hurt alot.

  • Forreal he dont even need to jump dat high to dunk.. If he didnt have a broken ass foot and knees then he would be ballin

  • him shaq and dwight were the best centers in the nba but Yao was probally the best ever

  • @GOHST13ly your crazy he wa snot better than shaq

  • @GOHST13ly best ever would prolly be chamberlain, olajuwon, or shaq or somethin

  • @mrgnkr116 somethin was the best ever

  • when someone at 7'1 says someone else is tall you know they are are tall -___-

  • @judgelol u sent that last one to urself lol

  • Shaqs being too nice lool

  • who don´t like the Basketball always remembered to Yaoming for that ----> :yaoming:

  • This is coming from me , a person of asian ethnicity :

    Yao ming :

Top 5 centre - Highly unlikely. The likes of Shaq, Kareem , Wilt etc Outweigh yao.

Top 10 centre - This is a maybe

Top 15 centre - Highly likely - to An almost definite.

  • @AlanThePad He's not even close to top 15.

  • @judgelol He's definitely in the top 15

  • @moewwe54 A brief career marred with injuries, in which his best years he was maybe the second-best center in an era in which there were absolutely no good centers aside from himself and Shaq does not put him above the likes of any of the following: Russell, Olajuwon, Shaq, Robinson, Ewing, Chamberlain, Moses Malone, Artist Gilmore, George Mikan, Nate Thurmond, Zo, Bill Walton, Parish, Cowens, Duncan (he's a center whether the Spurs pretend he's not), Sabonis, Mutumbo...

  • @judgelol Don't get me wrong. If he wasn't injured he very well could have climbed up the totem pole of all-time greats. As it stands, he'll get into the HoF simply for being a fantastic ambassador of the game.

  • @judgelol you don't get into hof for that reason, not anymore anyways. You either get in for great stats, championships or both

  • Yao Ming isn't probably in the top five best centers in NBA... He always will be the top center.

  • I still remember that little racist comment he made about Yao Ming back when he first started

  • shaq is a mean motha fucka. love him

  • Top 5 Centers of All-Time? Agile? Shaq you're complementing him too much.

  • @jayjoetube14 I agree with u that Yao wasn't agile but I believe he probably could've been one of best big men of all time in the NBA, not top 5 though. Yao had game.

  • @Mademan281 obviously he ait agile. he's 7 6 over 300 pounds...

if shaq says he's top 5 without the injuries, that\s a pretty big statement considering he's 1 or 2 on that list

  • @magicmc23 yea maybe but, me being a Rockets fan I wanted more from Yao. One thing about him that I didn't like is that he wasn't as tough as he should be, granted he was progressing through the years. If he had a lil toughness to his game then yes I would say he could've been top 5

  • @Mademan281 i don't think toughness was his weak point. this guy dominated once he filled out and didn't back down from anyone. his commitment to the chinese team as well as the nba team should be enough to make a statement about his toughness.you gotta be more than tough to withstand two ball seasons in one year. the only thing that was wrong with his career was the injuries caused by the nba and chinese teams contributions.

  • @jayjoetube14

    Fuck You Bitch.

  • @Littlemanwhocries

    fuck china

  • if u look close, Lebron traveled

  • shaq said he was tall

  • yao would destroy the league if he was still here. the nba has no big men left except d12.

  • @mod4life and bynum

  • @FanOfTheDoraemons when he is healthy and not injured all the time bynum is a top 5 center in the nba

  • @OsanaiE Bynum is the second best center in the league right now.

  • @cimi93x yeah I would agree with that but from a general manager's perspective I wouldnt want to take the risk and having bynum because of all that injuries.

  • @mod4life lol... yao ming isnt big you fucking moron.. he was tall thats all

  • @mod4life WHAT!

what about tyson chandler? KG is still considered a big man, roy hibbert is 7''2, Tim duncan and dirk if he puts up a little more muscle

  • @brian27610 were talking about centers and pf. tyson chandler is a liabilit on offense so its like playing 5 on 4. roy hibbert is still young and hasnt shown his full potential yet.duncan is getting old and dirk and kg are pfs.

  • @mod4life Are you crazy?!? We have a lot of young people progressing into great centers.. including Deandre Jordan, Andrew Bogut, Demarus Cousins will be good someday same with Greg Monroe, Andrew Bynum, Jokim Noah, Marc Gasol, Al Horford, Chris Kaman is okay, Al Jefferson, Tyson Chandler, Brook Lopez, Nene, Roy Hibbert, Javale Mcgee, you left out a ton of centers my friend

  • @phreshboii1000 those lil tweet will get destroyed by Yao. No man in this league can stop Yao Ming!

  • @mod4life uhhhh bynum is a monster this year...

  • Comment removed

  • its great to retire at the top of your game then people ask questions like "what could have been" and "is he the greatest?" .....unlike 7 time world champion formula 1 driver Michael schumacher who recently came back from retirement and stinks the place :/ yao looks like a cool guy.

  • There should be a section of the show called "Shaq remembers when...."

  • i used to be a tall basketball player, then i took an arrow to the knee

  • respect

  • @wkddydtn11 lol yea.."only" 7'4?(correction) he 7'6...u do realize that wen yao.. raise his arms he have like an extra 2ft over his height?? !!DERP!!

  • I think Shaq and Yao are the best nba centers this past decade(2000 - 2010)

  • "One of the top 5 centers to ever play the game." RESPECT

  • 0:33 Yao was one of only like 3 players to ever come out of china. He is the greatest player to ever come out of china

  • Honestly if one of them played Power Foward, Shaq and Yao would be dominate together, they could have so much fun playing piggy in the middle.

  • Agrred lilrob im asian but its not fair ppl go for blacks all the time anyway All races r equal under God

  • i love shaq GO SHAQ

  • yeah he is only 7ft 4

  • i saw him once. hes not that tall hes only like 7ft4

  • @best496 only 7'4???

  • thank you shaq for your nice words

    in love Yao

  • I was only staring at your pornstar stache shaq.

  • Asians are ugly as fuck...so good for him and us for getting his falat faced ass out of our screens... asians are just like gross. Dog eaters too.

  • @The3rdHiltonSister what do you expect to achieve with that?

  • @The3rdHiltonSister u are probably black! haha. you guys are uglier. lol. if asians are dog eaters, you guys are pussy eaters!

  • @vax090595 I'm black and I don't think like that you racist imbecile. Try another race.

  • @vax090595 I don't know about you but I like eating pussy

  • @The3rdHiltonSister why r u think ur superious to others? wherever u r from. i found u sucks from ur comment.

  • Shaq, u gotta kiddin me with those funny whiskers

  • if Shaq says you are good you really are good

  • injuries r killers...yao+shaq=no way inside. forms "BIG"two

  • Yao Ming isn't the GREATEST player to come out of China, he's the ONLY player to come out of China.

  • @twistorama What a dumb cunt, there were few others players from China to play in the NBA, nice caps lock dumb cunt.

  • @twistorama Not true... There's Yi Jinlian, Wang Zhizhi, Sun Yue among the few who have played in the NBA, but obviously none were even close to being as good as Yao was.

  • walk at 00:37

  • Damn, Yao is tall for an Asian.

  • @MrDismemberment yao is tall for a human

  • I really REALLY doubt Yao Ming would have ever been in the top 5 centres and this is coming from an Australian with Chinese heritage. Lets see the list right now, Chamberlain, Russell, Hakeem, Kareem and Shaq. I don't even think Yao Ming should be put before Parish but regardless Yao Ming was a beast and without a doubt a great player. Shame such potential was cut down by injuries.

  • @GarchompNation yeah man agree on all that including the list although I got Moses in top 5, I saw him at his prime in the ABA which there's like no tape of that day.

Yao unending injuries was Walton-esque... that old man Bill was a very very serious baller smashed up the league real good in his day, but it was the exact same deal, the injuries left it so you only saw the glimmer of what they were about

  • huge compliment for Yao

Shaq traditionally isn't to fond of his Center counterparts.

  • both shaq and yao will be Hall of Famers! shaq will go down as the most dominant of all time aswell!

  • the one thing thats best about Yao is he never flops as a bigman, all the pussy now flops like hell in the nba.he never backed down from shaq n thats why shaq respect him.but its sad they both retire in the same year

  • If Yao Ming is smart he would come back have surgery on his knee and come play for the Miami Heat and win a championship!

  • @chester9435 you know its not his knee that's a problem right? he has a hairline fracture on his foot which are very hard to perform surgery on and even if he does come back there is a huge risk of re-fracturing that area. These type of injuries can lead to the bone being even more seriously damaged if additional stress was put on the foot and for a body that big he is bound to put more stress on it just by walking hence the reason he decided to retire.

  • Shaq and Yao are the men.

  • Yao is a top 20 center ever.

  • @BUCKTOWN518 Top 10..

  • Dwight Howard= one of the greatest centers ever.

  • Yao Ming should be in the hall of fame

  • @whatsgoingon07

    i don't think so.

  • the title sounds like sex

  • @xazns0ulx Sir... please.

  • Shaq left, Yao left, is there any classic center in the league now?

  • @rayman1977918 chuck hayes

  • @keverinkarama hahaha

  • @rayman1977918 Kwame Brown, DUHHHHHHHHHH

  • Damn shaq complimenting on yao that he could've been top 5 centers, thats huge. Love yao, and its sad for his career to end so early because of injuries....

  • Thats why i like Shaq,he gives respect when respect is due,Yao was a good player, injuries hindered his greatness.

  • Im sick of getting all of these shaq related recomended videos. and yet I always click on them lol

  • Comment removed

  • RESPECT SHAQ!

  • both yao and shaq will be greatly missed

  • Damn, this dude is tall!

  • @Blaugrana92 when shaq says that you know the guys gotta be big

  • 1:17 wow, and was coming from one of the top 5 centers in the game.

  • Maybe it's just me, but I'm getting really emotionally watching this video. Sad to see him leave!

  • if you want to be a great or top player you have to be healthy..

what you think: vince carter, yao ming, tracy mcgrady and more good players.. dywane wade he would have more great if he's fit like he first came..

compare them to jordan, lebron and kobe.. i think some of them are better than these guys.. but they did not match physically.. conclusion: therefore you cant put a great player on the top list if he is lacking on an important aspect of the game..

  • we lost about 14 and a half feet of good basketball player this year, miss you shaqtus and mingy

  • yao and i are pretty good friends with each other

  • Comment removed

  • shaq is the man

  • when shaq says this dude is tall, u know u are really, really, really tall. lol

  • @republicansridiots funny thing is there only like 3 inches apart

  • Love people like Shaq, such a good TV personnel. One world, one love, we're all brothers.

  • @kenzzzhou go look at shaq's comment against chris bosh lol..

  • Shaq would talk shit about Dwight, Yao Ming, Kobe Bryant, and everyone else. It's what he does, and too many people take it to a personal level.

Regardless, Shaq has respect, and this video is a prime example. He's a great athlete with great class.

  • @KTD82291 actually shaq talks shit about dwight and kobe, but after he talked shit about yao his rookie year he never did again. he gained only respect for yao's game and person. look up the press history, one of the few people shaq reall respects!

  • spoken well , shaq.

  • wanna know something funny? yao outweighed shaq by five pounds :) and shaqs a big boy!

  • The Stormin Mormon is one of the top 5 centers ever to play the game!

  • If Shaq compliments you, being the type of straightforward person that he is, he's being honest. I really enjoyed watching Yao Ming play back in the days. I was in complete shock when I heard about his retirement. I wish Yao and his family well.

  • top 5 center to ever play the game lol shaq was out of his mind

  • @KDurantula he "would've" been top 5 center NOT is top 5 center. "WOULDVE"

  • @guitarsANDcars39 no he would not kareem, chamberlain, shaq, olajuwon ,russell... lol not close to any of them get real man.

  • @KDurantula Maybe not Top-5, but "possibly" Top-10 had he Been Healthy. Yao's problem was his health, that was it!

Btw, Yao was a more versatile player then all of the Top-5 Centers you named besides possibly Hakeem. Why? Because Yao could defend, he could shoot, he had an unstoppable fade away shot for a 7'6 man, as well as the Sky Hook! He shot over 80% on the FT line, something that NONE of the Top-5 C's even remotely comes close too.

Health is what dead him in. All the Respect to Yao.

  • @TrueSephiros i say that hes not would not be top 5 why are you talk about top 10 he maybe could have been on that list but that come out of nowhere

  • @TrueSephiros

Yao Ming: Top 5 centers of all-time? Even if he'd stayed healthy, I can't imagine that. I won't rule it out because he had a HUGE upside to him, but that's a tall task. If he AND McGrady had stayed healthy, it would be a different story. Top 10? I feel comfortable with that. The reason why even that's a bit iffy is because he didn't have longevity.

  • @vincentrich I'd agree with this, I have him at 6 after shaq.

  • @gsvkck

If Shaq's 5, there's NO WAY that I can put Yao Ming at 6. He wasn't around very long and had limited success in the playoffs. Shaq has 4 championships and 3 finals MVP's. There's too much separation between their accomplishments for Shaq and Yao to be that close. Hakeem and Robinson both have 2 championships and more overall impact than Yao, so they should be above him IMO.

  • @vincentrich Whoa, thought this was based on had he stayed healthy. Barring injuries I think Yao would have been up there. If you just want to rate his overall career counting injuries, I may not put him in top 10.

  • @gsvkck

I hear you. Even if he'd stayed healthy, I don't think that I'd consider him to be a slot behind Shaq. He'd probably be one of the greatest big-men of all-time though (top 10).

  • @vincentrich Well his career it is what it is, there is no going back. With that being said, I enjoyed watching him play. Not too many 7 footer can move like he did, and he was pushing 7'6" which is remarkable. I'd put him in my top 10 big men, but whether it be 6th or 10th doesn't matter all that much.

  • @KDurantula Russell and Wilt are so overrated. They played in an era where the pace was so much faster, and all around they were sharks in a tank of fish. Everyone else was so much less athletic and shorter that's why they dominated. If they played in the 80s against Ewing, Hakeem, Kareem, Alonzo, Shaq, Robinson, I doubt they would have been as good as they were.

  • @therichardchannel

I agree that the 50s 60s and 70s didn't have as many physically splendid athletes, but I certainly wouldn't call either of those guys over-rated. The fact is that every generation is better than the last because the athletes learn from the former top stars and teams' drafting priorities change. If you use the "big fish in a small pond" argument, then you have to call most great players who had a lot of impact over-rated because they didn't have equals during their days.

  • @therichardchannel By saying that you've pretty much show how little you know about sports and its evolution. Of course players like Wilt, and Russell can't compete against players of this era. But you're missing the point. Players of this generation have the benefit of learning from those who comes before them and improve upon it. You can't build a pyramid without the first layer of blocks. You are judge by how you perform against the players of your era, and how far above the competition you a

  • @therichardchannel i know that but if u talk about greatness they got to be in that category

  • aw man. i forgot yao's retiring. wanted to watch him play for one more if they ever get over the lockout.

  • sabonis is THE bes t centr ever

  • Shaq says true

  • EPIC MOUSTACHE

  • Lol. Shaq could have said, 'He'll probably JOIN ME as one of the Top 5 Centers to play the game.'

  • i wanted to see him play at his best

  • Shaq looks good in that NBA TV polo *no homo

  • @PantsSlayer no not at all

  • such a good thing for shaq to say

  • The China Man! He's from China man!

  • Shaq as a nba commenter is going to make nba so exciting . i am so happy for him.

  • /watch?v=PZbs0yHIryA ;)

  • damn, my 2 favorite big men retired in one season

  • shaq was dominant. but lets admit it, the guy barely had any skills. yao > shaq in skills. BUT shaq fulfills his duty as a center way better.

Shaq is a beastttt. Yao is more agile.

  • @ribnarak ...U Must Be Crazy...Hahaha...Shaq's "Black Tornado" Spin Move & Arsenal Of Tricks Was Crazy When He Was Younger...He Stopped Working Out & Practicing Hard After The Lakers Started Winning Ships & That's When He Started Getting Too Heavy & Having All Those Injuries...

  • SHAQ MY MAN .......................................Saying the same shit i've been saying for years Yao Ming i've he wasen't injured all the time tha't he would be in the top 5.For 3 years straight were he played a lot he put up these Monsterus stats : 2005-2006 season 22 pts a game, 10 rebound per game, 1.6 blocks, 15 assists. 2006-2007 season 25 pts,10 rebounds, 2 blocks , 2 assists . 2007-2008 season 22 pts, 11 rebounds ,2.3 assists, 2.0 blocks.2008-2009 20 pts , 10 rebounds , 2 blocks , 2 .

  • When you get respect from Shaq, who in his prime was way better than any of the players today (even Kobe), that's when you've arrived. Even if Yao will never have the stats of Hakeem or Shaq, he still made an impact on the NBA that changed it forever.

  • I think it's quite possible for him to unretire... i hope he does

  • YES!!!YES!!YES!!! finally it comes out from one of the best centers of all time that Yao ming would have been top five EVER!!! Everyone argues with me but this is as credible as it gets!! You will be missed yao

  • didnt Shaq say something racist to Yao?

  • Respect for Shaq. Praise from ceasar. Both players are the best in the respective prime. Nobody could stop shaq when he is inside and nobody could stop yao when hes outside. He shoots permiter and threes like free throws. unheard of for a big man. We willl miss them both a dying breed of centers.

  • I'm a SHAQ hater, but he give a lot of respect to Yao Ming in this interview. I hate to say it, but SHAQ is the most dominant center ever to play
