  • A wot' i dożdałsja.

  • Oh, this is a rarest of the rarest recordings! Bodo recorded it with the Tea-Jazz orchestra, that Henryk Wars established from the Polish musicians who were available in Lwow, after the German invasion on Poland in September 1939. Bodo and Wars' orchestra recorded these few sides in Moscow, in 1940/41. After they returned to Lwow, Bodo was arrested by the Soviet police and sent to the Gulag where he died of starvation in 1943. What a moment, to hear him alive, and so close to his tragic end

  • Pls see also the title of the song which says...:

"A Farewell Song Of Lwow Jazz" - Bodo farewell !

  • Thank you for posting this great and rare recording !

  • Original to be seen and heard (in Polish) at the channel: "piszczyk90" !

(PS. Eugeniusz Bodo - famous Polish actor and singer of the 1930-ties, was arrested in 1941 by Russian NKVD and died in a camp in Siberia in 1943.)

  • Hi, he was sent to the gulag not to Siberia but to Kotlas, near Archangelsk, where he died in October 1943. The communist propaganda in Poland all these years after 1945 claimed, he was arrested and shot by the nazis, after Lwow was taken by the Germans.
