Reading here, I can really see the difference between Sweden and the U.S. In Sweden, there's a Volvo in every street corner and no one pays attention to them. But in the U.S you (or they) see them as luxurious. Maybe that has something to do with that Volvo only ships the the two V6 and the V8 version of the S80, but in Sweden we've got 10 different engine options, down to a 2-litre 145 bhp engine.
after grad school I know what brand I'm going for... Volvo! The only luxury car brand which has it all: luxury, safety, powerful engine, 4 wheel drive, optional manual transmission... It's all here people.

Volvo AB is a Swedish company that is bigger than most other companies, they can buy them back. It's only Volvo cars that's bought by Ford not Volvo trucks, buses, penta, aero and the dumpers, excavators and so on. They are still Swedish.
i love how this car is different by not being too unique. lol oxymoron there, but too many cars are too outrageous and hard to use. This looks dignified and elegant, not too outrageous (like the BM 7-series) and it doesn't look like ford screwed the quality of the car (take a look at the 40 mph crash) crazzy.
Oh, and I most certainly hope that Ford Motor Company got the complaints of the HORRIBLE build quality on the first model, I hope the 2nd is a lot more reliable and better built.

This design is too Traditional. Its just like the outgoing one (which was nice, dont get me wrong), but its left me dissapointed with the interior and exterior. Its just Volvo playing it safe. lol. Saab on the other hand ventured out not to please everyone with the 9-5, its different, unique, and interesting. Thats what i love about the 2006-2007 ones the best. Ford just continues to kill volvo, i swear.

This car looks great, has luxury, drives well and is extremely safe. I don't get why many people still consider the merc BMW lexus and ETC over this.

Because they are better cars to DRIVE, not be transported in. I own a 2007 S80 3.2.
It's nice, comfortable and quiet, but does not match the performance of a comperably priced RWD sedan.
