  • Universal health care...

I think with 200 bucks you could grab a nice flight to Canada.

  • Employees the right to vote, in the very system they work for. Do not know if that would work, but there are unions. That system seems flawed though because they can pay off a single person, the head, and the rest sacrifice. It would definitely give them voice. Since though they aren't necessarily qualified in some venues in the turns of the business. Such as some turns to take to have profit, and business morals.

  • I loved that not a corporate puppet. I haven't heard of act blue. I want to pick your mind on lobbying in any. No Government should get involved with the internet. That is Political Activism at its finest. I haven't thought about giving to politicians of those so dedicated to a party, because I would have to side with a party. I don't like the fact campaigns are so much tied into money. Thats what makes corporations so powerful. Who lead by the very principles of the few.

  • I just gave $100 to Franken. Thanks for reminding me about ActBlue.

  • So glad to help!

  • danworth: In other words, you don't like the fact he's a Black guy, right, lol?!!! Meanwhile, your candidate is flip-flopping around like a stranded carp. Re: "That weighs heavily"?? Here's what weighs heavily: "laden with slanderous tactic." and "pandering disingenuous demagogue." Lol, that kind of pregnant prose completely exposes you for the pedantic pusillanimous pretender that you are. Wait until Obama's in office and getting things done that your guy could only dream about!!

  • i'ld rather have the iphone jk

  • There are congressmen who are not corporate puppets??? Obama is a puppet.

  • agreed if i were a health care company i'ld support someone who supports universal health care hoping that they would give me any contracts

  • A democratic majority has not proved to be enough change. We need a new democratic Administration.

    -Stay United, People!

    Good Video, 5 Star!!!

    ***ActBlue***

  • Hello I am a Canadian. We have public universal Health care. It ain't perfect, but it is way better than the private system you have in the states. Ya, 200 bucks for a moral, efficient health care system sounds like a good deal to me.

  • RationalLiberty, we both hope to see the same things from Obama, but I feel like considering Nader some sort of failsafe gives him far too much credit. Nader will soak up some disaffected people, but there's a certain lazy ease about making that choice too. It goes: I don't have to actually assess whether he'll be a good president because it's bloody impossible.

It's better than not voting, but there's still a certain ducking-the-question aspect to voting for someone you KNOW is impossible.

  • LET'S "TUBE" TED!!!!!!

faster than the speed of light, email sent via the innertube!!!

  • This video is fantastic! 5 stars!

  • As fantastic as free speech!

  • I hope Nancy Pelosi is up for re-election. I also hope she gets her lieing ass voted out of office. She lied about making congress work 5 days a week. She lied about not funding Dubya's illegal war. She lied about standing up for Americans and gave Bush the right to spy on Americans and gave retroactive immunity to the communication companies. She is a disgrace and I will heavily support whoever runs against her.

  • Every House seat in the country is up every even-numbered year, including Pelosi. I wouldn't waste your time though. She regularly wins over 80%. Her challenger this year is Cindy Sheehan.

If you want to help change the House, there's a really great candidate in Washington state named Darcy Burner who could use your donation. Darcy and several other great, anti-war Democrats are at the ActBlue link in my sidebar.

  • Then I'll send money to Cindy Sheehan's for her campaign. I just want that Nancy out. She is such a sellout and a total liar.

  • You can give at cindyforcongress . org.

I would make the appeal to you, though, that the candidates I'm supporting will actually have the power to fight Pelosi's capitulations next year if we help them win. On the other hand, there's no amount you could give that will make Ms. Sheehan anywhere near competitive in California's 8th district. It's a vanity campaign.

  • Cool thanks.

  • Its good that you are promoting these websites but Obama has taken "Centrist" positions which are detrimental to our democracy, so how do u reconcile this with ur support of him?

    1. He supports Israel and AIPAC, he has threatened Iran with a preemptive nuclear strike

    2. He is going to support this unconstitutional FISA bill which rids FISA court oversight, allows datamining, and gives immunity to the telecoms

    3. He just said he will enhance Bush's "Faith based initiatives"!

    just wondering

  • You'll never ever have a candidate with whom you don't have to compromise. Minimizing the compromises is what the primary season is for.

It's also healthy for us supporters to push back on the candidate when he says things we don't like, and influence him that way. But anyone who is committed to a set of beliefs, and who follows politics, should know at this point which one they'll be voting for. The choice is pretty stark, even with the things you don't like about Obama.

  • However, these things about Obama that he has backtracked on are pretty severe. Protecting the 1st and 4th amendments should be mandatory to being president, especially a democratic one.

I feel that Obama, advocating change, has fallen short of the image he portrayed and, especially after an administration and a party as unpopular as the Republicans, democrats shouldnt have to compromise their principles to get elected.

Im thinking Nader is a more progressive option than Obama.

  • Nader is a more progressive PERSON than Obama. And you're right to be upset about this change of tone.

But I feel like we can influence Barack Obama more from the inside, which is happening big-time on his site right now.

Also there are 2 people who have spent the time building viable campaigns--from staff to grassroots to fundraising, and here's a guy who just showed up, upset he's not considered equal. You don't just need principles. You need to work longer, harder, and more seriously.

  • Listen to Joe!!!,

We have to keep pushing Obama and keep him to the left of center. We can does this (in part) by supporting good, progressive Democrat candidates for Congress. If the Congress is still closely divided after 11/2008, Obama will have to govern from the center (even if he doesn't want to).

If the Dems pick up a lot of Cong. seats, injecting new people and better people into Congress - the tone and direction of Congress will change for the good.

  • ralph, are you a witch? I have had 100 witches reply to my posts. John (witch) Cappelletti, son of witch Ann & GWB, son of witch Barbara, are the antichrists. Ann took the spell of john the conqueror root when she was pregnant w John to make him the family cash cow. I suspect Barb took john the conqueror root when she was pregnant w GWB, next child died w witch leukemia, Barb's hair turned white. John was so bowlegged as a toddler, he tripped himself. Ann had joey w Hubbard to kill him.

  • On pushing obama to the left, im hoping that can happen, but I also hope that some constitutional dems win in november too. Thats a good point you make about the tone of congress changing, but i also want the tone of the executive to shape as well. Obama has shown that he is unwilling to do that by going to the "centre", so I feel unwilling to vote for him. I dont know where he stands anymore, or how much he respects the constitutional role of the government based on these positions hes taken

  • JoeFelice,

I sure hope you can influence Obama, and I hope that he will not become a corporate candidate, but my hopes seem to be less and less every time Obama tries to "go to the centre".

I want to believe that Obama will bring some miraculous change but the way he has campaigned so far leaves me in doubt. But if he does go to the left, votes against FISA, and take charge of the dems in Congress, i may be able to rethink Obama. I will have to see, but ill also respond here to ralphdraw too-

  • Joe, have you not noticed that Nader has just showed up for 3 elections. This is not the 1st.

could it be, he is being paid by Bohemian Grove players to change the dynamics of the election.

Bohemian Grove annual meeting is coming up July 12 in no Cal. I suspect members of your group have players in Bohemian Grove. Repigs & Dems are players at BC. Are you men enough to infiltrate BC as Alex Jones has gone. I suspect you have at least 1 person on staff who is BC. Sonomacountyfreepress. com

  • Here is the HUGE problem with Nader -

    HE WILL LOSE. Period.

    Some interesting questions about Nader:

does he have ANY money to run a real campaign?

will the hard-core Naderites plunk any money down for Nader's (losing) campaign? My guess is - NO..

What is Nader polling at? 2% or 3%?

Can Nader beat out Bob Barr??

  • If you people stop putting your heads in the sand, maybe, Obama can win. 11 master satanists, occultists, masons, kabbalists, witches banded together with hundreds of other minor witches who chanted for the WTC towers to fall were: Bush, Cheney, Tenet, GWB's now powerless superwitch aunt, Ann Cappelletti, Bill Gates, Giuliani, Con D. Rice, Schwarzenegger, Silverstein, Soros & Saddam Hussein, 33 degree mason, not dead, needed to pull off the 911 fake plane illusion. September Clues, 10 videos.

  • Ralphdraw3,

On ralph nader, you are correct. he will lose. But Nader stands for principles I believe in, and policies I support. regardless of his chances of winning, he stands for my interests and he doesnt have to go agree with republicans to do that. I think sometimes its better to pick the right guy than the guy who can win, just as its better to support the "right" legislation not just the ones that will pass... (cont)

  • Re; Nader (or Bob Barr or Ron Paul or Lyndon LaRoushe etc..)

Yes, when you know that you have ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE OF WINNING, you can "stand" completely on your principles, the voters and interest groups be damned...

  • ...Also ralphdraw,

I have to believe that what obama campaigns on is what ill get. I shouldnt have to interpret what he does. If I do, I may be mistaken, and I may pay for it for the next four years. I think it is far better to pick the person I KNOW will do me and my country good rather than one who may do my country good, if i interpreted him correctly.

But look at my response to JoeFelice as well.

If Obama backtracks and I can feel like I can trust him again, then I may rethink nader.

  • Damn, i do not have suffice funds to help any of these candidates....

  • You will have even less money if those canidates win!

  • SOMEbody hasn't looked at the Obama tax plan...

  • It's the same tax plan that always comes from the far left! Obama wants 2 tax the so called rich but after all the smoke and bull shit it will come down 2 this... If you are not on welfare then you must be rich and need to have your income redistributed 2 the so called poor AKA Life Time Democrats.

  • How are the Republicans proposing to pay for two endless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan????

You have to "balance your checkbook" don't you? Doesn't the federal government have to balance its checkbook too?

  • Don't take the bait, man. If MadBad was interested in facts he'd know Obama will cut everyone's taxes making under $600,000.

  • CHINA just like always! You didn't think they would create a "War on Terror tax" or have "Ben laden bond drives" did you? That puts us to $890,000,000,000. The Iraq war alone cost the US $5,000 per second. without Afghanistan So devalue the dollar which in turn raises fuel prices just like clock work . Thanks Dick And George

  • I think I will try that site out. Oh how sweet it would be to get Stevens out. He's a whacky lunatic. (They're following me everywhere I go) I don't think I'm going to donate to Obama again. I've really cooled to him. I guess I should have expected what has happened, but I'm naive I guess. Sigh... Anyway, thanks for the tip.

  • It's so funny that you support people such as franken who scream for higher taxes on the rich and he doesn't even pay his own taxes. He is such a hypocrite and he doesn't have a chance to win.

  • The Democrats shredded the Constitution when the liberal activist judges gave terrorists equal rights as American citizens to be tried. The trial lawyers will love this because we will have to try and prove with evidence here that a terrorist captured on the battlefield is guilty. I guess we don't trust our troops. A high percentage of them have gone back and killed more of our boys.

  • hope this internet arrives ok via 'the tubes'...sigh.

tysvm for the information Joe..going to actblue today with your recommendations in mind. have already contributed beaucoup to barack...thanks for the reminder that other races really matter as well.

  • Great work joe on showing us some tools to get the most progressive bang for our buck. I've been making small contributions based largely on Feingold's Progressive Patriots fund, but more ways to cut through the choices is always better and I'll make sure to check out the places you cited.

And you're so right about Stevens - that man is a total menace who really needs to go. Internet tubes is just one small aspect of this man's ignorance.

  • Stevens must go. My only regret is that I couldn't include Andrew Rice in Oklahoma. He's up against James Inhofe, the most powerful denier of global warming. Unfortunately, a win for Rice just doesn't seem likely.

  • I gave 100 bucks to Obama like a few days ago and he keeps emailing me asking for more, and actin like I never gave any in the first place. Getting pretty typical there, Barry >_>

  • Ouch.

  • I also registered to vote on Saturday.

  • I'm a European and was going to ask if I could make a vicarious donation through you. Good thing you informed about the illegality, he he.

  • That was really helpful. Thanks.

Ted Stevens definitely needs to go.

  • Thank you back knibbles, and others :)

  • getting rid of Ted Stevens will be cause for celebration. I'm in. ;-)

already contributed 3 times for a total of $350 to Obama. plus I gave a bunch to Edwards, as well Dean in the previous. It's nice to finally be backing the winner. It's nice that a good guy is finally, deservedly gonna win. and he is. ;-)
