  • Matt, you just rock and that's it! :)

Such a great topic and tips here, most appreciated!

    Thanks!

  • thank u so much

  • I didn't knew it was better to sart to shade from middle tones. At art school teacher have teach me to shade from light tones first. I will keep this tip in mind next time i will try to do a portrait

  • That is great Matt!

Whan you do your digital tutorials, what program do you use to record your screen? Is it free?

  • Great Matt...I would love to see it in Color as well. But as a new member to your site, I haven't seen any colored pencil portraits and was wondering if you would do one for us at some point.

I am learning a great deal from Matt's website and encourage everyone who whats to take their drawings to the next level to join Matt's website.

  • ahhh so true i just give up but i will try to have patience more now

  • I would like to see it in color. I want to see what colors you use to make the piece.

  • i would love to see it in colour, too. (:

    it'll be great.

  • : )

  • i would love to see it in color!

  • yezzzzz

  • thanks Matt. yeah it would be nice to see how and what kind of layers and approach you have to make it full colour. and what colours you pick to make it realistically.

    Thanks a lot.

  • Please, no colour portraits. I like more those B&W tips and tutorials.

  • wtf ever happened to pencil and paper

  • most of his stuff is on paper with a black col-erase colored pencil.some of the members of the site wanted to see some digital stuff many are illustration students and use it in school.he post these from them tutorials

  • I burned 'em

  • Absolutely, yes, color please. Thank you, you are great!

  • I have been there many times but I'm wondering, what about the times when you get so discouraged, you just don't know where to go with the drawing anymore? I have a few that I would love to finish and I don't want to give up but I got some kind of artist block and just don't know what to do next. Any suggestions?

  • Yes, please do it in color. I think it will help us a whole lot.

  • I would be quite giddy if you did a color portrait tutorial.

  • yes yes yes in color!!

  • Brilliant advice, i must say im very guilty of the "boom, black lash" lol not to mention highlights >_> All too often my drawings come out flat and cartoony.

This is one lesson i have really taken to heart!

  • i know EXACTLY what you're talking about. like i feel like i can draw better but i usually lose my patience and give up.

  • @OmnipotentO cool im not alone!!

  • A color painting would be amazing!

  • Hi Matt. Hope you are well.

I haven't any time for Drawing or Painting

for a long time...., but stay subscribed,

inspired and amazed watching your vids.

    All the Best.

  • please make it a color painting. I 'd love to see what a painting from an outstanding draftsman talent like you would look like.

  • No wonder I never progress. I start a drawing only to jump to a new one without really working the sloppy one I just created. I never seem to get a drawing done.

  • Same here. I've got about 10 unfinished pieces and if I go back to them I quickly get bored

  • OmfG the Beautiful Hair!!!!

  • color it

  • looks like a dude in a way

  • I like the tips, but what is the point of drawing pictures on a computer?

  • yes u have to do it colour

  • Beautiful Hair!

  • awesome :)

  • FIRST

  • congratulation! you cured cancer!
