i have a macbook pro notebook that is partitioned with snow leopard & windows 7. When I install wubi on the windows side the internet does not work in ubuntu. What is the best way to fix this?
ok I have a big problem, I already installed Ubuntu using wubi but I cant access Windows Vista, can you tell me how to access ? or how to recover my windows vista files and delete the other partitions except Ubuntu
I have a problem. I installed wubi on windows xp and then removed windows xp wihout uninstalling wubi and now i installed over windows xp and can't uninstall wubi. what should i do. NOTE: ubuntu is not in add and remove programs.
Dual booted with wubi....XP and ubuntu 9.04 but ubuntu freezes my whole system.I want to erase the partition of ubuntu and i tried to eliminate it via wubi the same way it installed but when restarting i get the 2 OS options even though i have no linux inside.Any help?
So you have Removed Linux and you still get a prompt when you boot up to boot into linux?
If thats your problem then theres a free program called EasyBCD and you can use that to remove it from the Windows boot.ini (thats what asks you to choose what OS to boot into!) and then your pc wont ask you anymore!
everything works great untill after i restart and select Ubuntu, it takes me to a comman-line page and wants me to enter a "grub" command. What should I do? PLEASE HELP!!!
hey i did this on my windows media center edition pc but when i go to boot up ubuntu a white box with a red boarder comes up saying system over range and it moves around the screen help asap please!
I don't recommend Wubi because some limitations what i dont remember. Wubi uninstall from Vista didn't work. I had Raid0 4x, Vista on non raid, Wubi Ubuntu on IDE HD. I don't know how, but Wubi killed my raid0. I had to reset it from bios then Vista didn't boot up nomo.
@wisin1 i second that, linux isnt for everyone, but really, you dont have to say it sucks. anyone who really knows computers has a lot of respect for linux and its systems. even though i also dont identify with it 100%, its still better than a mac so be happy!
Not creating a seperate partition for Ubuntu is not very smart, because you'll probably end up having GRUB issues on startup in the event that something corrupts...
If you've decided to install a new OS then please take the time to read some info on it, otherwise stick to Bimbows ^^
there is a fucking blank screen after i log on into Ubuntu using the Wubi virtual PC program thingy. I do not want to create a partition for Ubuntu without knowing the nuts and bolts of the OS. Do you know how i can circumvent this problem?
no duh, it just suks cause i like it, but like you said, "not for the simple" its a shame i had to uninstall it. :( All these other OS spoiled me i guess.
HEY I HAVE A BIG QUESTION!!!!! ummm what am i suposed to do if i dual boot into Ubuntu and the screen looks all messed up and hase little white linse going across it?! i installed wubi last night and found out that it did that... know a way to fix?! o.o
just go into add/remove under applications, then in the show box select "All Available Applications" then type in flash :-) While you're at it get Java, all the GStreamer plugins and if you want to have fun with your desktop then type Compiz and select those associated programs for desktop effects.
I did wubi Over Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3 installed well After the second time rebooted it showed up like a DOS Like Menu and said BusyBox Built in shell what did I do wrong?
THis should not delete windows vista some people have complained that it has corrupted it so use at your own risk *i have done it to my computer multiple times and nothing has happened.* No you dont need another Hard Drive.
i have used Wubi to install both ubuntu and kubuntu. problem is i never get to the desktop, i always come to the command shell . cant do anything. i read something about ATI driver problems and i have to change to vesa.. either way im giving up soon.. any suggestions?
You might want to check wubi/ubuntu forums. The linux community has been aving trouble with ati drivers/graphics cards because of the lack of source code given out by ati so u may be out of luck for right now enless u change over to nvidia *i believe all of there cards r supported for linux*
