  • That was a nice cover girl sweatheart (4/5) :D

Can you "By The Way" tell me what the main riff are? I play it like:

    D7-D7-G9-G9-G7-G9-A8-G11-G7. Is that correct?

  • I wanna jam it iwth you :D

  • well arnt you just a little prick

  • good. only criticism i have is on the guitar solo flea plays chords up near the 12th fret. other than that excellent job. and dont worry about your clumsy right hand. i was told when i first started that if you feel comfortable with your technique, keep using it.

  • You had a shit teacher if he encouraged you to keep using shit technique.

  • well dude if you think about it, when bass was first started. there was nobody to correct their technique because nobody knew anything about the instrument. the technique that they taught themselves are the techniques we use today. so why not start your own technique if it works.

  • Non male ehi...Rock on!!!

  • you play it too high

    and youre pretty

  • Thanks for the vid. Our band is trying to do a cover to this and just seeing the way you play it will help us to no end. I don't think that the right thumb issue is a problem... to each his/her own.

  • O.O! be My wife! xD

    you're really cute!

    and very good bass player!

    I love you! xD

    kisses

  • well i am not gay and i like girls alot and i think she is hot but you dont need to coment things like i love you and things ...... but you can say shes cute and things and that she play´s good btw you play really good and look cute ^^

  • damn, the best part of this song is solo, but you're playing it an octave lower! 3 would be 5 if you played it right..

  • I love you!

  • hot

  • it depends on the player's preferred position

florcitacutie, i saw pro bass players also rest their right thumb there, so its just cool :D

  • back strokes

    no open strings

  • yo florcitacutie you have to think of it this way she may feel comfertable playing that way lol i cant say much like because im a drummer but i play bass weird when i hold it but its because i feel comfertable that way

  • u need a lil bit more technique one ur right hand don't rest your thumb (right hand) in the ... (pastilla) i don't know how it is called in English almost nobody knows this but it should be rested on the strings I learned this from a famous cuban bass player thankss

  • Just so you know, the name of the "pastilla" in English is pick-up.

  • Not taking anything away from her, but if the song is on, how can you TELL that she's actually playing?

  • cant you hear the bass in the foreground?? in the original song the bass is more in the background.

    really good job *thumbup*

  • By actually listening to the tone...you can tell she is playing...not THAT hard...

  • very good woooow

  • How long have you been playing?

    Good tone, and good timing.

  • I like that song

  • A little more practice with your right hand and will have my respect, good luck working :)

  • hey that was great I've been trying to play that song it's a little hard for me but you did great I wishi i could play it like that

  • Wooo! finally i see one of us gals up there! Mann.. most bass players i see are all guys. Keep it up :)

  • ops , MSN sonds!

    huehuehehe ;D

    Nice job Girl

  • nice job. Ican only play the beginign XP all you have to do whit your right hans is to relax

  • awesome job ^^!

wish i could be like you :( !!

  • great! i wish more people would play instruments specially girls

  • You gotta alotta potential there, kid! Your left hand is flawless! your right hand has a little catchin' up to do. I've been playin' for 25 years and I went through the same thing. This is not critisism, kid. This is encouragement. You've got great timing and a good ear. Your left hand looks and sounds strong and articulate.Keep it up like this, and you'll get far. the world needs more GOOD bass players...trust me...bass players don't look for bands...bands look for bass players! Keep it up,kid!

  • you are the one saying you can play couse of your arm? cant use fingers?

    you're good, go go go!

  • 3:22 en adelante te cansaste de meter notas. bien, muy bien.

  • COOL

  • very talented... f**k all the other comments you did a great job ;)

  • that was cool....

  • very nice babe!!! I want to be in your room !!! to make ..music very nice job!!

  • cool to hear other bassists perform music that I play and listen to...what's your setup? And yeah that bass does look huge for some reason. ;)

  • pretty ez song... but nice job... clean notes... right in time! keep playing!!

  • bien!!

    saludos desde España

  • this is great.good job if ur nice enough please check out my cover of this..its played on an upright bass.lol

  • hehe ... bass looks huge in your hands lol

    quite accurate playing!

  • your not bad do you have any more recent videos?

  • genia!!

  • your playing is really good, seriously. maybe you can work a little bit on your left hand technique, to make changes smoother. it is already good, but it can become even better. and since the video was uploaded more than one year ago, i guess you already worked on it ^_^ 5stars nonetheless!

  • So thumb is located in three places 1)on pickup when playing e and a strings.2)on e string when playing a and d strings.3)on a string(TOUCHING AND MUTING e string)when playing d and g strings. Or mute with your left hand thumb(e string) or with other left hand fingers, mainly barreing with your left hand index finger. BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THOSE OPEN STRINGS MUST BE MUTED. Otherwise She is playing good.

And practice this! BEFORE the producer in the studio tells you this :)

  • RULES start to be good when those open string(s)(especially in that opening riff) are ringing.... If you keep right hand thumb on that pickup all the time, those unmuted open strings are ringing, it´s called "symphatetic vibration". You get rid off it placing thumb on a-string(touching e-string)when playing on g and d strings. When playing on d and a strings put your thumb on e string and when playing a and e strings ONLY THEN KEEP YOUR THUMB ON PICKUP. And pluck towards the pickups

  • this is good too

  • wow! your the hottest bass player evah!!! girl your sizzling!

  • First of all there is no "WRONG" way.

You said the more we know the rules the more we can bend em..

I am telling you that line of thought is the wrong way to look at music. There are NO rules. Therefore there is nothing to bend or break. Only an instrament to explore, and a fun experience to be had.

  • nice cover !

  • there is no wrong or right way to play bass. as long as you are hitting the notes, who gives a shit. people used to tell me the same thing when i was kid. just do what comes natural, and practice.

  • I respectfully disagree a little there are certainly some "wrong ways" to play bass BUT I agree that you should do what comes 'natural' but don't just sacrifice basics. The more we know the rules the more ways we find to bend and break them, yes? No conflict, just conversation. And, she ROCKED - I was even lookin, just listening! There - did I contradict myself? damn

  • You play well.

  • Wow seriously stop telling her where to put her thumb, or she may put it somewhere you don't like! You are the same type of idiots who think there is a "right" and "wrong" way to play. She should continue to play how she sees fit!

    Rock on!

  • Tocas bien el bajo electrico, saludos y felicitaciones...

  • With your right hand you want to have your thumb move up and down as you move up and down with your plucking fingers. This way it feels natural and you can mute the strings you aren't playing. But good job anyways.

  • very good cover and theres nothing sexier than a pretty lady playing bass, but if you dont mind me asking though it seems your stretching your hand alot to pluck the G string you can eliminate that by resting your thumb on the E string, you probably know this and your comfortable playing that way but i thought id mention it anyways i havent seen a bass player play with his/her thumb on the pick up unless their playing the E string :p

  • I had no idea that was unusual - I always rest my thumb on the pickup. The only thing I would advise her to try is resting her thumb perpendicular to the side of the pickup instead of parallel - it'll make that stretch to the G much easier, and will provide greater string leverage for a stronger attack.

  • ERES ARGENTINA! Soy dominicano!

  • i wish there were more girls like you haha

  • You are good playing actually.

But you are very calm haha, i would realy want to see you playing some fast played songs, see how you handle it.

  • Seein' as it's a bass led song, I thought you did well with it!

    Bravo

  • great job, but you looked depressed playing this

  • Wow, very good!

How long have you been playing?!

  • Very kool. This reminds me of my old chili peppers tribute band days. There aint enough female bassists in the world. More is needed ...FACT!!

    Gud Job Babes :-)

  • She is good, but...cold. Like ice, no emotion. Yeah, John Myung also don't play emocionaly, but that's not true at all. For me - the best bass style and sound has Brian Marshall (Creed, Alter bridge) - in Creed, that was great bass - in Beautiful, Never die, Unforgiven...

  • nice job

  • its looks and sound (maybe the quality) that when u finger style u like semi pop..u come to the string from beneath try like pushing it down and with that momentum go up and lay it on the upper string (it refers to your finger.)

  • Nobody can image the problem u have if you are a girl: which bass guitar fits for you?? ...most of them are too big for a girl. that's a real and serious problem... ;-)

  • so what???

  • it's the point...so dont't make mistake...

as bass player who already plays 6 years..

you for example must know how to jump around the note...yes of course it sound good...but for me for example it's boring to see whole video...because i know this song and the way she plays i know what's gonna hapen. so surprise me...somthing else...when you go to the stage you practise befor the show? don't you? well it's the same..improvise sometimes and when you preform you know where to hit.

  • the bass is bigger than she!!

  • Nice...but show some tech skills...

    i slapping and popping ..

it's bass guitar ...be more agresive baybe...

you must rock ..show your energy...

    anyway good cover...=]

  • She can do whatever she wants. Some of the most relaxed bass players are the best of the best. Think of John Myung.

  • There is no such thing as relaxed bass player...

all guitar players got skills and their own thech` i can tell you this as bass player...

you have to improvise when you play on bass...if not it becomes boring from riff to riff...

and don't remid bass players if you don't know them...take for ex. Victor.W he also got relaxed song..however he makes his songs talk...everyone gets his tech` in the end...

it takes time. i didn't say she done it bad..

she done it very well..but somthing is missin

  • I am a bass player of about 6 years and I know the ins and outs of the instrument and how it's used in the industry. Some guys get up and jump around and usually make some mistakes. Others focus on the music and stay still and usually sound better.

  • at the begining she isnt playing it right i would know because first im a bass player of 3 years and i love Flea/RHCP and i learned this song 1 1/2 months ago

  • wow i don't really think you said that to show your credibility

  • or maybe its a big girl with a masive bass xD

  • holy shit that bass looks huge

    i mean mines 20 frets!

hers must have about 6 or 7 more than the one ive got but it looks massive.

cool song ...ive just started learning it.

    its great to play to.

  • the bass aint big, the girl is little!

  • haha that's right. my bass is actually quite small. a fender for example is a lot bigger.

  • NIce, a girl that played bass, THAT ROCKZ

  • They do exist...

  • fire place is still warm, they cannot be far away. do not let them escape!

  • My bad.

  • That's a bass, buddy.

  • colleague bassist, nice cover... that song is some difficult =) GOOD JOB!

  • It's a bass. Get your eyes checked!

  • girls who play bass are totally hot. Even lisa from the toadies in the tyler video.

  • good job!

  • self-taught? :)

  • thumbs up to you from a fellow bass player

  • thumbs up to you from a fellow female bass player.

  • awesome cover :D

  • im sorry, but nothin sexier than a chick handlin a guitar, even if it is bass. props

  • marry me ur amazing ur a goddess

  • Greetings! see ya!

  • nice one babe.

  • Marry ME!

  • good job! +)

  • probly play that better than i do

    AWESOME JOB!!!

  • I think thats fucking awesome!

    Just fucking awesome!

    BEst wishes.

  • Nice work!

I'm "supposed to be" a bass player too... you should post some videos playing with a band. I would love to see it!

  • sounds real good,great cover

  • hola me gusto tu flow muy linda.... digo muy lindo flow jeje! I LoVe Flea!!

  • Pretty good. You pivot too much off your left index finger. Like it's glued to the fretboard and you pivot the rest of your hand upward to hit notes with the other fingers. Try to make sure to keep the knuckles of your hand parallel to the bottom of the fretboard if that makes sense.

Got to give it to you though, you know, rythmn and timing is solid

  • hey you're pretty good
