there is at the top of the first tn bank building in chattanooga tn that goe sup to a private club there. that elevator has had to been one of the finest ive ever ridden in. ( was up there for a party
i'm so sad that these elevators got hit by the tornado and i'm not going to see anything out of the window if i ride them when i'm in atlanta. i think they're reopening the scenic elevators this summer
I can remember when the tower first opened up in 1979, i also remember the first time i went up to the top, of the then called Peachtree Plaza tower, now called the Westin. My how times have changed...
According to the people at the SunDial, they will be don late July. The only problem is that I'm leaving for Florida tomorrow, and am very busy afterwords, so don't expect a video for a month.
Floors 1-4 consist of a parking garage. There is an express elevator (the scenic glass one) that goes right to level 72, which is closed now due to the damage from the tornado. The elevator entrance is right on floor 5, near the main elevators.
The controller was screwed up. I had to open the doors, then close them again to make it work! And the elevator was just modernized 2 months ago!!! The old elevators had bad brakes, and would jump about 10 cm whenever someone would disembark and the new one had a broken door for a long time (which was fixed).
2:18 is that the hilton?

TransitFan7 3 years ago
There is a special external elevator that has access to floor 72, that would be a restaurant of some kind.

How do you take an elevator directly to 73? and where's floors 1-4 in this building?
Baytrail 3 years ago

How do you go directly to 73?
Baytrail 3 years ago
You can't. You have to go to 72, and take the stairs up to 73. They do have an elevator that goes from 71-73, but you have to be disabled to use it.
musicfreakcc 3 years ago
How do you go to parking?
Baytrail 3 years ago
Valet only.
musicfreakcc 3 years ago
You mean like an employee elevator.
Baytrail 3 years ago
The Peabody Orlando has the same concept as the Westin. Is there an outside parking lot?
Baytrail 3 years ago
Never mind.
Baytrail 3 years ago
Is the valet private access?
Baytrail 3 years ago
Yes, on floors 1-4. There is an above-ground lot nearby for self-parking.

Did the tornado really damage the Westin Peachtree Plaza?
Biglele208 4 years ago 4
Yes.
musicfreakcc 4 years ago
I thought it just damaged the windows
Biglele208 3 years ago 3
Correct. From the looks of things, there might have been some more significant damage done to the elevator structure.
musicfreakcc 3 years ago
Why this elevator wasn't starting up at the beginning? O_o
