Alot of the people in the video are also out of bands from around that time.
Crazy punks not living in the real world but no one could conquer Debbie (as the lyric go) or the band for that matter. Totally original totally mesmerizing and powerful.
fuck....30 years later and im still revisiting "Eat to the Beat", and finding it refreshing, and fullfilling of what my soul is starved for. how is this possible? that tiny woman with the mop of bleached hair who projects an ambience of indestructability? yea, her....i want to go back in time and witness her kick-assery!
Greatest, most talented female vocalist ever. ... and an exceptional beauty too. A rare combination. Now, it seems you only have to have a pretty face to get a leg-up in the music industry
I'll bet that they could never make a video like this, with people sitting and dancing on scaffolding, in today's entertainment world. The legal liability potential is just way too high for any of today's pussies. Speaking of which, you can see right up a girl's blue skirt in this video. 1:55
@HarryPotter87 I think this was shot at some abandoned warehouse. Many of the videos from Eat to The Beat were shot on this stage and all the people in the audience were invited Blondie fan club members. CBGB is a tiny little bar with a tiny little stage.
I love this song and 'Slow Motion', also from Eat to the Beat, which is where this single's from- the lyrics are amazing, as per with Blondie. Clem's always always so dapper- love that polka dot shirt! ;)
This song kicks butt! The audiance are tinsel idiots though, I don't see them jumping around faking it in Blondie's Musikladen German videos. Well organized melody and lyrics. This song is too well done for radio & tv It would be better to see this when i turn on the tv instead of seeing who's going to jail.
What a fantastic song that is! That was the last song off "Eat To The Beat" and it was written by their keyboardist, Jimmy Destri, who always seemed to come up with these great songs when nobody expected it.
@xXPinkGoddessXx yup! Gia was a Blondie's super fun, she appears in "Atomic" video! yeah, I also had read about Gia is a member of the audience to one video of this song, but I dont know if is this one! I cant see her here! fuckin hell :D
@gudhgieurgae That makes me wonder whether Gia ever tried to get it on with Debbie, since she loved blonde women (Sandy Linter reminded me a bit of Debbie) and we now know Debbie had a bisexual streak. Would be cool if that happened!
@xXPinkGoddessXx well, seems that "Atomic" is Gia ^_^, the way in which Debbie called Gia, but actually I dont know it for sure! Gia sure was soooo fascinating...maybe :D
Interesting, I will have to keep my eyes open for more. Around that time we spent a lot of time dressed in Olive Drab careening about in severely oversized All Terrain Vehicles. One day and the next and a decade flew by.
I am pleasently shocked. I have not seen that clip before. It appears similar to the cip of "Dreaming" in that several faces in the peanut gallery are familiar although costumed differentlyl.
haha my comment gets 6 negative votes just cuz i think Linda Ronstadt is hotter? c'mon people...that treatment should be reserved for posts with excessive profanity, crudeness, or something of that nature. don't neg just cuz you disagree.
Here's my take: Debbie is the SEXIEST musician ever (because of her whole persona), but Linda Ronstadt is the HOTTEST musician ever (just based on pure looks).
Linda Ronstadt is cute but she's practically toast compared to Debbie Harry. Debbie's lips, eyes, cheekbones are out of this world. Honestly if you asked 10 people 2 will say Linda and 8 will say Debbie, but there's no right or wrong.
You nailed it but you forgot one thing....the sexiest thing....her attitude!!! Debbie would be another pretty lady but what sets her apart is the attitude that oozes out of her!!!
@overdramatic1 Dude, Debbie is By Far the GREATEST, COOLEST, and HOTTEST WOMAN IN MUSIC HISTORY!!!!!!! Also, One of the Best Singers Ever!!!!!!! Great, Underrated song from the Amazing Eat to the Beat, which was a Great Follow Up to the Greatest Album EVER, Parallel Lines!!! It seems that the only songs so called "Music Experts" ever talk about from ETTB are Dreaming and Atomic which are Amazing but the Whole Album is AMAZING!! LOVE DEBORAH HARRY AND BLONDIE!!!!!!!!!

I apologize - I seem to have a fixation on her mouth - it is the most beautiful mouth I have ever seen (Alicia Silverstone is a very close second).

'Eat to the Beat' was produced as am album; but then it was also the first to be available on video tape also, so there was a clip for each song.
Mainly the singles have the better clips.
