  • CBS, I am legitimately interested in this topic, but do not watch videos that run advertisements throughout the vid. That is why people come to youtube - so they do not have to listen to corporate garbage.I will just have to remember to skip CBS youtube posts in the future.

  • For union members and their families only: Chapter 9's is a comin'! Bye Bye union pensions. Bye Bye to sitting on your ass at age 55. Just mosey on down to Wal Mart and stand in line with me for that Greeter's position. Where are those union bosses now? They're retired in luxury is where! Do you think that you are in their thoughts and prayers? YEAH RIGHT!

  • Yep, public sector union memebers living off the backs of working stiffs so that the average Joe has to work into their late seventies, subsidizing the union members gold plated retirement; Oh, and let''s tax those unborn children we dont abort (and who cant vote) so that we can all enjoy another round of golf at the Villages. Dont be angry at conservatives or the "real" working classes! Look in the mirror - do you see a greedy bastard staring back at you? Retire at 55 and ME pay for it? HAH!

  • well that was uplifting!

  • Politicians only get elected if they give/spend money on something, that's the achilles heel of democracy. People don't vote with their brains, they vote with greed, and politicians are greedy too, so.. here we are.

  • the money for military will be cut on the end, when nothing left to cut

  • Isn't in any wonder that those states whose govt's are the most liberal (e.g. CA, IL, and NY) are amongst the worst-off! Just goes to show you that $ doesn't grow on trees and there are consequences to fiscal irresponsibility and reckless spending on social programs. The DAY OF RECKONING is at hand !!!

  • Chapter 9 permits local governments to restructure their debts. This let's them renegotiate interest rates on loans with banks, break contracts with unions, avoid payments to bond holders, etc. The federal judge who resides with the case determines the course the municipality will take. The restructuring plan must be sound and long term. Meaning viable and realistic. You will see many of these like she said this year.

  • Leave it to a big fat incompetent slob living high on the taxpayer hog like Cristie to talk about public workers.

  • @TheTalshiar You must be somehow affiiated with a public union, I am only guessing:) Oh Well, Mon Ami, say syonara to your pension, benefits, early retirement, caddliac medical plan, etc. No more living off of the backs of the "real" working classes. Gotta' earn an honest living like the rest of us. Sorry about that pension check. See you in the bread line, Bro!!! CHAPTER 9 is coming!!!

  • Oh, I forgot about what they said about the municipalities going bankrupt. They didn't dare mention what it's called when a local municipality goes into default. It's called, "CHAPTER 9 Municipal Bankruptcy" You'll never hear it mentioned by any talk show host or their guests. The UNIONS don't want you to know it exist. It's a federal statute that permits local governments claim bankruptcy. The state's mandates/laws don't trump this federal law. The unions cringe when Chapter 9 is mentioned.

  • You can blame everyone else for this debacle, but it boils down to one simple lesson in life. "Something for nothing" The bill is coming due and the people who feel they deserve the most are in for a big surprise! Those who have multiple skills will fair the best during this transition. The transition from big entitlements to those who earn an honest living. I don't lose a wink at night and there's little I can't do for myself and my family. I hope that high paying degree pays off for you.

  • Cajole or bully Public Unions? Seriously? These people have benefits and retirement plans like no other. The REST of us cannot afford to keep public employees living the lifestyle of the rich and famous. Sorry Charlie...the dream is over. You pulled a fast one on us...but the money's run out. If need be go get a private sector job...lol...cause let's be honest none of you were prized employees to began with....most of you aren't even competent.

  • @xr4ticlone Riiiight. Union members living the lifestyle of the rich and famous. Riiight. Jesus H Christ are americans stupid. Just like tax cuts for billionaires cuts the deficit and the market is self correcting. When will the sheeplike americans wake up to their fleecing? Probably when the dollar isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

But of course when it happens it will be the poor peoples fault.

  • @TheTalshiar No it will be the fault of socialists / progressives that have enabled massive Gov spending. Texas isn't in trouble. As the OP pointed out it's the most liberal states with the biggest problems.

Other than Gov employees / unions, who gets a 55 yo retirement pension? Right now the average Gov employee makes over twice their private sector counterparts when benefits are included. And lets be honest here, the public sector employee pool is pretty damn shallow. Change is here.

  • @xr4ticlone You missed the part about Arizona

  • end tax welfare to the rich.

  • @chingon711 Yes, put an end to inflated union pension benefits and ridiculously low retirement ages. Declare Chapter 9 and renege on all those fake promises that were extorted out of the public.

  • End the Fed

  • It's time for the rich to start paying more, cause ya can't squeeze the poor anymore.

  • @dale3858 48 % of americans dont pay any fed income tax..how are they being squeezed? the top 10% income earners pay 70% of all income tax recieved by the feds..who getting squeezed?

  • @woodmanbb The rich have to PAY MORE, they are rich so they can afford it. When you have millions of RICH people and the poor and middle class GO WITHOUT, what the hell is the answer, the RICH have to PAY MORE, it's pretty simple from where I stand. When I say rich I mean the millionaires and rich corporations etc etc etc. There needs to be more regulation and accountability of the fed reserve bankers etc.

  • @dale3858 that is funny..jimmy carter tried this and it back fired terribly...so how much is enough to take away from the rich?? 40 --50--60 %? as far as more regulation goes it is not necessary they need to inforce what they have..just as the sec was warned about madoff for 9 years and did nothing but watch porn on their comp. at work..now they want more regs and more gov employees.

  • @woodmanbb Banks gave people too much credit when they knew they might not be able to pay it back. If people over extend themselves and went bankrupt the banks gave them more money as long as they had a job, That's not right, I have a bunch of friends that defaulted on many credit cards, went bankrupt and a week later they get applications for more credit cards. If we didn't have regulations it would be total chaos, just like what has happened, we may never recover if someone doesn't pay for it.

  • @dale3858 yes they do..the" community reinvestment act" started by jimmy carter and doubled down on by clinton intructed banks to make loans across the board and would be backed by freddie mac and fannie mae..if the gov had not artificially pumped up this market we would not have had this bubble..let the free market work..and if a bank makes a bad loan thery eat it..get the gov out of the way..not saying we dont need some regs..but we dont need to cause the problem..then add more regs and gov

  • Fellow Americans, I know its hard on your ears, but its time to raise taxes.

  • @kfinnguy i so agree... we have to pay are bills,

  • @kfinnguy why in the world would we want to give the goverment more money? because they have showed us how effiecient they are? if we give them more they will spend that plus 50% more...they need to get out of the way to get this economy moving..

  • @kfinnguy Why not cut spending as well??????
