If you ask me, it's not very uncommon that the japanese themselves "miss out" on that "extra" vowel that stretches the sound when writing japanese in romaji. In names like "Reimu", "Eirin" and "Keine", the "i" is not to be pronounced, but rather it tells you to stretch the "e" in front of it. In this this case, it would be "Eerin", or "E~rin". I have no idea why they leave the letter out, but I have seen it in many other cases, not just with Eirin's name, and not just in Touhou.
