Yes finding a car thief and catching the stupid idiot red-handed. would be a practical use for the system.

However, shooting the parasite and killing it. May not be a practical idea.

Because it would be hard to get him or her to pay for the damage did to your vehicle in the process of stealing it if the car thief were dead.

So I think catching a car thief and making it pay for the damage would be a more practical route to take
