  • heavy breathing from peter on his 25m run, lets take advice from him on cross country running

  • -.- really ? i run cross country . i'll stick w. my coaches tips . for mile 1 i give a push , mile 2 i slow a bit -little bit- , mile 3 you bay fall back a little more but worry about passing people then at about an 800 you accelerate , give a longer stride ,& then try your hardest to sprint the end , about the 100 .

  • peter. we do none of this in practice. ill stick with my coaches tips.

  • The pre-race time is for warmup, not the first mile of a race idiot.

  • Description says he is a lifeguard who swam in high school.... ??

  • What the hell was the point of him running like 10ft at the end of the video?

  • Not right at all you should always warm up before the race even begins.

  • ok peter.

    the truth is very simple.

only 1 rule: you need balls to increase speed during a race

  • horrible form lol these videos are horrible

  • this is pretty funny

  • Hi, my name is Peter with expert village, and i'm going to teach how NOT to run a race, or suck really bad in one!

  • @emmymz1025 He actually gives an pretty good example of how to approach a tactical cross-country race.

  • I'm running out of things to say... these are unbelievably bad videos. I hope all the views you're getting are for people wanting a laugh and not wanting training advice.

  • i think the camera man f*cked up the end, he wasnt supposed to get him stopping at the end of that little jog. he was supposed to make him look like he was running a marathon haha...expert camera men too i guess

  • what happens if you get out of breath what do u do then stop ?

  • you looked tired at the end of that jog, Peter.

  • Warming up the first half mile??? it's a race, you do your warming up before it...anyways he shouldn't talk, by seeing his form, he isn't much of a runner

  • lol where do they find these guys? stupidstupidstupid

  • Did he seriously say to go slower the last mile?

  • @people12345 he meant start out slower to gauge pace then speed up as you go to the point where your over your overall goal pace so then you have the choice to slow down and repace back down to standard pace the last mile or keep up the higher pace and finish stronger if you can keep it up.

  • They are experts at making me laugh!

  • i think you should just try to get near the front if u can and eitherr hold it or take some positions

  • Peter, you should do stand up. This is some of the funniest stuff on the tube.

  • idk what the hell this "expert" is saying but what i liek to do in a 5k is basically just go out pretty fast and take a spot in the top 15 runners and hold it for the first mile, then throughout the second mile i like to gradually pick off people one or two at a time, then the third mile if im in the position i want to be in i start to just go pretty much balls to the walls and just make sure no body passes me and try to get in front of anybody that remains, but thats just me

  • so tottally agree...

if you want to place really good you have to keep up with the guys in the front at least for the first and a half miles... the next half mile you can actually cool it not that much but keep a good stride... and that last mile that's it pump it run for what you really want...

  • do you know when cross country starts in school?

  • @strides1000 sometime in august if i remember correctly but it might be different depending on where you live

  • @strides1000 Cross Country starts like the 2nd to 3rd week after you get In to School... I start In late august so By Mid October We have our first meet... I'm from TEXAS

  • @xtrophe isnt that football season? i heard there should be one more around the middle of school year? i cant afford to miss out on football

  • @strides1000 my team works out all through summer, but idk about ur team

  • @Allmaster125 but school is out

  • @strides1000 yea, but then when school and the season start, ur in better shape

  • This guy has never run a cross country race in his life. His tattoos are pretty funny though.

  • None of the expert village "runners" have any idea what they're talking about -.-

  • peter...you need balls to increase speed in a race

  • id like to see you race peter

  • why is that?

  • lmao! so true...but thats not the only thing that can improve ur speed.

  • hey do you think I'll be able to compete. I can only run 2 kilometers max and in 9 minutes. I can probably run 5k if i pace myself. school training starts in two weeks. i train hard on weekdays and rest hard on sundays. any help would be appreciated.

  • yes dont give up! we all start from zero! just stay positive and dedicated

  • id really now how to measure things in kilometers... but im guessin that's a little below 1.5 miles ...and well usually schools have 9 meets before district... and you know what... keep up with the guys in the front for as long as you can..that will build you up quick... and start jogging mondays a good 6-8 miles to get your lungs and legs strong...

  • how about warming up before the race?

    my advice

    10-15 mins 6min/k run warmup

5-10 controlled sprints to get the heart beat up

5-10 mins of "rest" before the race.

    then you will be fast!

  • I get what he means, but some runners just seem to be different <_<.

I wonder how much his big arms weigh him down x]

  • all i know is that in my country if you pussy out in a race(not doing a finishing to where you fall to the ground) or while doing hardass training we cut off the genitals of the ones who do that.

this only happened to one guy of course named chen.

btw our miles are made almost entirely of tempo runs and 2-3 days of the week are intervals for the second workout of the day.

    -Laos xc runner

  • Obviously this is directed twards beginner runners

  • actually no we do something similiar on my cross country team, theyre called "tempo runs" we dread them but trust me try them and you will se results.

  • My team does them as well, and they are indead tough. I was just trying to knock some sence into the haters in the comments.

  • oh haha sorry about that man, ya the haters have been out in force lately. good wishes on running m8

  • if he runs his 1st mile like he did at the end...he better have enough guts to go faster...

  • Why do they have a meat head talking about running? He probally can't even run a 6 minute mile.

  • wow this is so bad

  • What!? This dude better not get paid for this! He's horrible not one tip video is accurate. Sorry to be so brutal but it's true, I'd do a better job making these vids for free..haha But really he's a lifeguard and swimmer, not a runner,,

  • i always make negative splits. my first 2 miles usually are about 5:15 each and my third is usually 5:05-5:10

  • his tattoos are hawt.

  • this guy is a meathead

  • He might be wrong about warming up during the race, but you have no right to bad-mouth his video. Everyone has their own way of warming up. Maybe it's how he runs. Who knows? But serously I don't see you guys helping the running world get better by posting any videos. If you have that much to say, make your own video and stop criticizing his video.

  • When he talks about warming up during the race he's referring to getting your body in a constant-motion zone that you can not reach from a pre-race warm up. How about we make sure we know what were accusing him of before we go off on him. Idiots.

  • Hes from Rowe or what?

  • That was pretty bad advice. 1) You dont warmup DURING the race, What I do is just think. My first mile was 5 mins so my second should be, and so should my third.

  • haha how does this even have a three three star rating, to bad you can't give negative stars

  • The best part is near the end when he does his little 10 yard shuffle. I lol'd

  • haha this tool know nothing about cross country. since when do you "warm up" during the first mile of a race? you warm up before.

and I've never heard of a 3 mile race. a 5k is 3.1 miles if that's what you were talking about.

for future reference don't wear frickin bball shorts when you run. retard.

  • you warm up in the first mile when you want to finish in last place lol

  • no you stay in the back group first half-mile or so, then start going at a quicker pace and always stay at that pace the whole time. Rly, the only real trick is to just never stop

  • I have listened to all of your comments and I would still blow him.

    :-)

  • all he is talking about is running negative splits for each mile... he just cant say it

  • Great advice, I now feel I can win the world cross!

  • this is seriously the worst advice I have EVER heard

Use the first half mile as a warm up??? WHAT? Have you ever heard of warming up before the race....

Also, maybe you should go watch the race yesterday at NCAA prenats--It sure looked like they used the first part of the race as a warmup (2:30 through the 1k--that's not fast or anything)

I am sorry, but every single one of the cross country advice videos are pitiful and useless. Please stick to subjects you have knowledge about. Thanks!

  • He was breathing so hard after like 25 meters That really does suck for him

  • LOL too the end of the video...was that his pace?

  • at the start it sounds like he is going to say "hi my name is peter...and I accept that i am an alchoholic"

  • This is stupid I never knew that's how you did pick ups, that looks like slow downs or something.

  • Comment removed

  • That didn't even look like pace...

  • XD that guy sucks so bad

  • hes probably a former runner or coach u douchebags not a proffessional or anything geez dont see u makin any vids

  • I love the demonstration at the end showing us how to run properly. Ha!

  • Was that the first time he ever ran in his life? Looked like it

  • he a big cross country runner

  • haha...tell me this guy is joking?

  • lmao this is funny. this bro needs to lose 40lbs, the bball shorts, and the wife beater muscle shirt

  • stupid huge arm football player, not a runner at all!

  • Hmmm, I might take advice from this guy in football or something, but running definatley not. And what was with the little 20m shuffle he did at the end?

  • he doesn't know shit

  • Good video and advice

  • Nice try bud, but not quite. You probably dont know how rediculous you look to a serious runner.

  • @xDCotton

This foo does look ridiculous...ridiculously buff for a cross country runner! I bet he can beat up most cross country runners just by exhaling haha

  • this guys an idiot..

  • true dat my nigga
