brown paper.... are u joking me. its not bit of wonder u didnt actually get like infection... at least use a cotton swab o.O with alcohol... and every1 knows that you have it ready over the needle then pull out, duh! :P
Well, it wasn't "risky" though the technique after the stick wasn't too Kosher: however, the guy getting his vein pricked seemed to like it and after all, they got the blood. And I agree with lessthanrh: a 14 would have been nicer. How bout a 12?
oh man...that's not really how you're supposed to take that out in case you didn't notice haha...next time please let the med professional who put it in remove it!
your suppose to put a cotton ball on it as you pull it out and then quickly fold your arm together with a bandaid on the contton ball... that way the vein clots up and you dont lose blood like it did there... i almost got a little sick from seein it... must watch again... lmfao
This is because we tend to bend our elbows a lot and that usually dislodges or "messes up" the IV. It was interesting to see how much blood spewed out once the IV was pulled out lol. They probably should have applied pressure on the IV while pulling it. Also that was a little fast for removing an IV. But what do I know? I'm just a nursing student. :)
generally, if your patient (or person you are working on)is in the hospital or having to lie down for long periods of time it is not wise to put an IV there x.x

THAT pipe? THOSE pipes could have taken Several 14s or bigger and the best part is that he'd have liked it all the more.

Agreed...What a dumbass this guy was, putting it right into the left AC, -s applying any kind of pressure to it, while retracting the cath. lol
