@BAWLS2894 you change out the camshafts for a more agressive set, produces more hp and tq and depending on what cams you go with, will vary at what rpm range they make their power at. Some are for low end (1500-3500 rpm) others are for mid or high end (5000-6500 or more)

@BAWLS2894 the camshaft opens and closes your valves to let air in and exhaust out, different cams can make them stay open long enough to let more air into the cylinder, but not to long that the engine detonates ( gasoline combusts before the inlet valves are fully closed)

@BAWLS2894 dude, you should Google how an internal combustion engine functions to understand why things work the way they do. This car sounds like it has a fairly radical hydraulic lifter cam, but, this is all done with a tune, which makes me feel even older than I am! LOL! It used to be an all day affair to get a cam swapped out to get the same sound (granted the point of a cam swap is more for performance).

Hope that messing with the TiVCT in the car doesn't have any issues down the road. Switching out cams in that old 4.6 engine had some mechanical knowledge behind what you wanted to achieve, but telling the engine to idle differently might have unforseen issues later on.

Got to say I have been seeing these Lund Tune Cammed vids yours sounds like it chops almost as Insane sane as my Custom Comps which just more than any other Comps made for 4.6 Cobra Motor because of how big they are and because my Friend who is an Engineer spec them out like that. @Alonshalev To date i have steeda cai, kooks headers, kooks o/r x pipe, kooks catback, sct tuner with tunes from brenspeed, vmp and john lund, foose wheels, bbr short antenna, grabberpony engraved shift knob, steeda short throw shifter, eibach sportline springs, bmr adjustable panhard bar, tinted windows, tinted foglights, tinted tailights, blacked out badges and exhaust tips.

I had Brenspeed and Bama tunes on my last Mustang, the brenspeed tune for some reason never really worked, I mean it loaded and everything according to them was fine, but there was no change to performance, maybe they just didnt really tune anything lol. After that I ordered Bama and it was night and day difference from stocl.

@Alonshalev I like the vmp tune the best. It has good power and really good drivability. The brenspeed has good power but its the race tune so its real touchy. Brenspeed gives me the best mpg though. The john lund tune is the one with the cammed tune so it eats fuel like crazy but it does have good power, drivability and sounds sick.

@jason892000 The motor comes with cams but yes its just a tune that controls the cam phasers to create overlap with the stock cams. I will be putting aftermarket cams in once ive seen the rwhp numbers.

@laptoph4x I didnt put cams in yet. This is a tune that makes the stock cams have overlap by utilizing the cam phasers. When you put aftermarket cams in this car you will still have to have a tune for lope because the computer sets everything back to zero for drivability and fuel economy. Im still waiting on some rwhp numbers to see if it will be worth replacing cams.
