What's interesting about Litvinenko is that he is at times forced to admit (without actually admitting it) that the Soviet Union was much more progressive and gave more to the people than the current mafia-capitalist Russia. Absolutely you are right, Litvinenko is not a person who has been a dissident all his life, the events during the rise, and election of, Putin is what has stirred the rebel spirit in this person, a feeling of duty to tell the world. I do not agree with all that he says, but I can't help but respect anyone who has the courage to go against popular opinion with such effort to tell their side of the story, right or wrong, good or bad.

Actually, the only paper published on the use of polonium as a poison was in 1997 - in Russia. The FSB did not want to be subtle about this.
