I was there the night he was attacked. He was getting rough with the tiger (tapping roughly on its nose when it wasn't performing correctly. I remember thinking damn, I would never be popping a tiger on the nose with a microphone. And the next thing I knew, it was one pop too many and the tiger responded. That's all there was too it, all that other mumbo jumbo the press makes up to make the tiger looks somehow heroic for "saving Roy" is just bullshit.
They're stupid. This tiger tried to attack a woman in the audience and Roy stopped it, the tiger attacked him instead of her. Yet these two put the tiger on stage with no barrier between the audience and the stage.
As for the tiger grabbing Roy as a cub, um, that is something mother bears do to their cubs. Tigers drag their prey by the neck and carry it off. You might be able to tame a tiger or liion but that is not the same as making them non-dangerous than an ordinary little pet cat
sigh age really is a man's worst enemy, these kind of shows are disappearing one by one because people think that performing with animals is to dangerous, it is but thats the point, to live life on the edge.... To bad I never saw one of their shows....
that tiger is thinking "this is so retarded, can we get on with it!? *sigh* well, i get union benefits at least."
really, this is stupid. who would actually pay to see these clods after what happened? that is supporting something unnatural and dangerous. what is to stop that tiger from freaking out and heading towards the crowd?
i dont know - is the tiger is better off? because in the wild, he may be a victim of poaching. i just dont think keeping them as pets is right, though.
this is continued from my last message. If Montecore had wanted to kill him he could have very easily. The media & certain special interest groups have used this for years & pyu their own spin on it to villify exotic animals & private owners. This was a beautiful thing to see! Both men back on stage to say good-bye with Montecore!
I'm reading these comments & people still don't have a clue. Have you not heard Roy explain, Siegfried explain or the medical doctors??? Montecore did not "attack" Roy! Montecore did not mean to hurt Roy, he thought he was trying to save Roy & drag him to safety. Cats have alot tougher, thicker skin than humans so he didn't know he would puncture him. Roy was on new medicine & had a stroke & Montecore sensed what was going on & tried to drag Roy backstage to safety & then drop him there.
@tonytonytee ohh yeah why don u go out there and get a white tiger and u play with it these guys deserve more respect than u selfish bastard i hope u die in hell and the devil rapes u in the ass
Aww this made me tear up so sad it was the last performance for them. I understand that obviously these are dangerous animals but i believe if that tiger wanted to kill him he could and would of done it, if all he did was grab his neck and go backstage with him and not continue to "attack" anyone else then this was not an attack. The tigger just wasn't aware of his strenght and the damage it would cause obviously poor guy though
If tigers could actually be tamed to the same level as dogs, this would probably ensure their survival, since man is gradually demanding more and more land. But the reality is they can't, and in many ways it's much more interesting to view them in the wild anyway.
So glad they got to say goodbye, and with Montecore at their side. I don't think the Tiger meant to hurt Roy. If Montecore wanted to kill Roy, he'd have snapped his neck in an instant, not drag him off stage.
@Sandmaven Yeah from what I've seen and heard it seems to me that the Tiger was on edge and didn't want to be out around all the new faces perhaps in a bad mood? Roy didn't respect what signs he gave him and the Tiger basically just tried to get him to listen via force. If you want to be around animals like this it isn't enough to grow up with them and or play with them now and then. You have to treat them like friends and respect their signs.
Anybody can tell me what's the amazing music played during their performance? I am disappointed with myself for knowing Seigfried and Roy after I went to Vegas last week. :(
@GhostWatcher55 he can't even walk properly. it was so saddening and tearjerking trying to see roy struggle to walk. he wont ever have the same performing ability ever again.

@ReviewCam I don't know where you pple get this nonsense from and then you enjoy posting it on youtube.
First, if you had seen the incident or at least red what Sigfried, Roy and their manager talked about the incident, you would realise that the tiger was trying to protect Roy as he fell off the satge.
@ReviewCam According to Sigfried, "the tiger was attempting to drag him to safety, as a mother tigress would pull one of her cubs by the neck. The tiger had no way of knowing that Roy, unlike a tiger cub, did not have fur and thick skin covering his neck and that his neck was vulnerable to injury... Now the question here is that if these animals felt abused like some oversensitive maniacs like you claim, would they have protective/family instincts towards their abusers?
@ReviewCam And Also according to Sigfried "had wanted to injure Roy, the tiger would have snapped his neck and shaken him back and forth...", and actually if you try and read any book or documentary on tigers behavior, you would relaize that if this was an actual attack, Roy would be dead meat in instances.
Those guys treated their animals like family members, and they did their best to create awareness on the importance of wild life and preserving it... It is not fair to flag them as abusers.
Yeah, it's even more hideous when you consider that animals NEVER experience any trouble out in the wild. In reality koala bears give lions back massages, foxes and rabbits sing showtunes and cheetahs and zebras walk hand-in-hand into the sunset.
Though I did see this thing on TV once where animals....KILL AND EAT EACH OTHER ALIVE. Yep. Survival of the fittest and all that - nature is fucking cruel. Showbiz cats really don't have such a bad deal. Unless they're really homophobic.
@ReviewCam He wasn't abusing it... The tiger obviously cared about them otherwise it would have just crushed his neck when he had him the night of the attack. The Tiger was clearly using restraint otherwise Roy would have been dead then and there.
@ReviewCam can you stop trolling on every single siegfried and roy video? as many people have said, they are not abusing them. they live in an open, carefree environment outside of shows, and the tiger that attacked him obviously cared for roy because he didn't attack him full on.
@xmusicfreakk Well number 1 I can comment on as many S&R videos as I like. 2. Making lions and tigers perform is just plain cruel. 3. It's wrong to ascribe human emotions and behavior to animals. Montecore dragged roy off stage like tigers do in the wild, to protect their prey.
Were it not for quick thinking people off stage who sprayed the animal, Roy would be dead.
Again, it wrong to ascribe human behavior to wild animals.
@ReviewCam okay. number one i can't argue with, and number two is your view on just half of the story. however, your assumption that montecore dragged roy off to protect their prey is false. siegfried has stated that montecore dragged him off in an attempt to treat him like a baby tiger, but montecore didn't realize roy's neck was sustainable to injury. and montecore only did that because roy fell during an act and thought he was in danger.
@ReviewCam and why is it wrong to ascribe human emotions onto animals? animals with a close relationship with humans do develop motherly insticts and caring emotions for them. alas, their wild instincts will never be completely be forgotten, but animals do develop love for their owners.
I have always loved the Big Cats especially Lions and Tigers.... I have always felt sorry though for the big cats in captivity as pets and in the circus, as performers.
I know that Siegfried and Roy loved their cats though and took very good care of them. That attack was very unfortunate :( This was a touching last performance and indeed took a lot of guts!
This performance not only give S&R the chance to say good bye, but give us the chance to know what love is about, what forgiving is about, what support is about.
It also gave them one last chance to make tigers do stuff that tigers aren't supposed to do, and that might piss them off enough to bite the nearest human in the neck.
@jimgrude I´ve got two feelings, in one side I totally agree with you and I don´t support any show whatever this might be where animals are used . but in this video my point was about one man that was really hurted by one wild fiend and besides react against it he just forgive the cat... and that´s love and courage..
A wounded soldier that keeps on fighting for the love of his country is surely corageous and brave, but in reality he's a dumb creature that is willing to leave his wife and kids to get killed in a war that does nothing but kill off other people for the cause of preserving evil, violence and vengeful behaviour.
In the same way, Roy Horn might be the most loving and courageous guy in the world, but that doesn't take away from the very fact that he's also an ignorant, cruel fucktard!
There is nothing cruel about stating the broadly accepted opinions that using animals in stage performance is wrong, and that war is ignorant and a pure waste of lives.
You can't expect me to pay respect to bad people just because they managed to overcome something lame.
@jimgrude I like how you mark them as bad people when you clearly have never met them before and don't realize how good they were to there animals. You make me want to kill every last Tiger and Lion out there.
@jimgrude The soldier point you made is extremely idiotic. You should go kiss the "dumb creature" soldier whos risking his life so that his family can safely live in said country without the danger of foriegn attack's ass. Moron. Why do you think hes fucking risking his life? Because its fun? No, ignoramus, its because hes protecting the country that his "deserted" family lives in. Im amazed you even had the guts to say something as stupid as what you did.
Didn't I make it obvious enough that my stand on the subject of war is that it does the exact contrary to what it is supposed to? You can't possibly be amazed that certain people feel that war has an adverse effect on it's objective to bring protection and peace! Even if you disagree with every aspect of that, you've got to be able to se why I with these opinions will find it dumb for people to engage in war! As I've already stated, being courageous doesn't make you less stupid!
@jimgrude Did you not read my comment or something? You bash a soldier for "leaving his family", but quite contrary to your understanding, hes fighting the fucking thing to protect the country his family lives in.
There is a fine line between courage and stupidity, like you said, but it doesnt apply in your favor here, nor does your opinion on war. Do you think its up to the soldier if he wants war? No, but it fuckin happens anyways and somebodys gotta do it and protect the country for us.
You don't really seem to understand my comments too good either. In my opinion, going to war doesn't protect anything, but rather makes things worse in every aspect. I'm able to bash people who leave their family to fight in a war because to me it's such a destructive, ignorant and useless thing to do. However, I do acknowledge their courage and wish to do good, but I'm not going to praise them for it, as I am viciously opposed to fighting violence with violence and fighting!
@jimgrude I know what youre saying about war not being peaceful in the first place, but if it happens anyways, you should praise the troops for being the ones who stand up. Im sure the troops hate war too. Like I said, its not the troops' choice for war, and nobody likes war, but sometimes shit happens and a country needs defending *cough* terrorism.
@jimgrude The tiger didn't bite Roy. Roy fell during the show and Montecore tried to pick him up like he would a cub. But Montecore didn't know that humans have arteries instead of scruff on their neck. Montecore treated Roy as a parent would treat its child. Had Montecore wanted to kill Roy, it would have taken half a second by snapping his neck.
@Kruezoraxe Bullshit. I was there that night about 20 feet away and he did NOT fall at all. I don't know where you heard that but he was popping the tiger on the nose for not performing correctly. I remember thinking to myself that I would never hit a tiger on the nose with a mic. Loud enough to make booming sounds. Then the tiger LEAPED UP (keywords there) and pulled Roy to the ground. You can't try to sugar coat what I saw with my own eyes. There was no animal love there buddy.
@Kruezoraxe Also, a tiger being pissed at a human and NOT wanting to kill him but rather get his attention to stop whatever it is they are doing to annoy it is what happened to Roy. He was angry for the repeated poppings on the nose so he pretty much got his attention to leave him alone. It happens in the animal world all of the time. You sure spout some irrelevant and incorrect information as fact when you know only what some shmo that didn't see what really happened wrote..
@LarryBluntski Interesting because every zoo keeper who works with tigers and has listened to Roy's story has said "that makes perfect sense".
So first of all, I doubt you were there. Second of all, even if you were there, eye-witness testimony sucks and is famous among memory researchers for being ironically both incredible fallible and resolutely believed by their owners.
So who will I believe? The victim whose story is corroborated by animal experts or larrybluntski. Hmmmmm
@Kruezoraxe i dont give 2 fucks what you think son...i was 19 and there for my cousins 21st Bday on 10/3...faggots like you that dont like to be proven wrong LOVE to make the other persons claim appear false to protect your own theories and what you "heard"...lol the fact is I WAS THERE AND YOUR FAGGOT ASS WAS JUST A BABY SUCKLIN ON YOUR MAMMYS TEET...and I saw roys ass get owned by a tiger that wasnt fucking around...so fuck what you think jr., and fuck you too. Bitch have a nice day!
@LarryBluntski Just to let you know, getting pissed off does nothing to prove your point. I already told you that memory researchers have shown eye-witness memories (especially flashbulb memories) to be highly fallible and resolutely believed.
There was even a lot of disagreement between witnesses on the night of the performance. Eye-witness memory sucks. Especially a memory from so many years ago.
I will believe multiple independent experts over one witness every time.
@LarryBluntski Also, not that this is important but I was 17 when roy was attacked so I wasn't a baby. See what's different....nothing. Because angry comments do nothing to provide evidence.
Also, and this is important. I am currently studying for my Ph D in experimental psychology, researching how arousal affects memory. Data since the 70s has been clear. Humans suck at remembering and they're even worse at knowing they suck. And they always get pissed when I mention this.
A Las Vegas musician, I lived less than a quarter mile from S&R until I moved away in 1998. At night you could sometimes hear the big cats coming home from work. LOUD. Sure, we all made fun of S&R and their 'flamboyant' persona, but when I heard about the accident I was saddened. I had often wondered not 'if' a tragedy involving the cats would take place, but 'when', and if the audience would be injured. I heard Mr. Wynn fired the entire cast and crew the next day, with one week's pay. Nice.
@Mendy7952 I woul´d like this happenings never come alive, not for the big cats, not for the guys, unfortunely human beings forget to give the whole respect the incredible animal kingdom God gave us to share this planet with deserves.
Wild animals are allways wild animals .. it´s in their nature. That´s the way things were made. Anyway, really sad all this
I regret that I never have been to Vegas to see them live. I dont regret being a fan ever since I saw them in a tv special years ago. Many people have said cruel things since the tragic event. I have read etc many reasons for "the attack". Truth is Siegfried and Roy are the only ones who I want the truth from and they have as far as I am aware have yet to say. REGARDLESS I still think that they are animal lovers who deseve our respect.
As a young man growing up i was a beligerant homophobe & these two great men helped to change that.
Siegfried & Roy You made a grown man cry...but i have mixed feelings as to whether they should have done this last performance.
Maybe we should have been left with the memories of what came before that freak incident but i understand why they DID decide to perform one last time & you can't argue with the huge amount of money it raised for a worthy cause.
What did you expect Roy was bit in the neck by a Tiger and almost died. This is very touching and for you to say such an incompetent comment makes you look like an asshole.
First off, I stopped going on your Channel, second stop being a hypocrite, if you are going to keep arguing then you shouldn't be complaining about me responding. Face it Kid, your telling me to stop doing what you continue doing.
You must either be illiterate or just stupid... remember this ol' piece o' work?

@JohnnyMidnight1 I think you fail to recognize that they accomplished more in ten minutes that you will in your entire life. Don't be jealous, just accept it.
@SubZero1402 Roy was attacked in the throat by the tiger during one of his performances. The doctors had said he would never walk or talk again, but he miraculously recovered.

I know that Siegfried and Roy loved their cats though and took very good care of them. That attack was very unfortunate :( This was a touching last performance and indeed took a lot of guts!

What a beautiful tiger. He never meant to hurt Roy. If he did, he could have killed him, easy.

What a terrible thing to do to that poor tiger!

@yourheroxyz I agree. Seeing it in that tiny cage breaks my heart, but the audience is applauding

This performance not only give S&R the chance to say good bye, but give us the chance to know what love is about, what forgiving is about, what support is about.
OneWorld4us 1 year ago 11
@OneWorld4us
It also gave them one last chance to make tigers do stuff that tigers aren't supposed to do, and that might piss them off enough to bite the nearest human in the neck.
jimgrude 7 months ago
@jimgrude I´ve got two feelings, in one side I totally agree with you and I don´t support any show whatever this might be where animals are used . but in this video my point was about one man that was really hurted by one wild fiend and besides react against it he just forgive the cat... and that´s love and courage..
OneWorld4us 7 months ago
@OneWorld4us
A wounded soldier that keeps on fighting for the love of his country is surely corageous and brave, but in reality he's a dumb creature that is willing to leave his wife and kids to get killed in a war that does nothing but kill off other people for the cause of preserving evil, violence and vengeful behaviour.
In the same way, Roy Horn might be the most loving and courageous guy in the world, but that doesn't take away from the very fact that he's also an ignorant, cruel fucktard!
jimgrude 7 months ago
@jimgrude You're an idiot. you're cruel. That very comment makes you more cruel than any soldier out there. You dumb fuck.
danerogil 7 months ago
@danerogil
There is nothing cruel about stating the broadly accepted opinions that using animals in stage performance is wrong, and that war is ignorant and a pure waste of lives.
You can't expect me to pay respect to bad people just because they managed to overcome something lame.
jimgrude 7 months ago
@jimgrude I like how you mark them as bad people when you clearly have never met them before and don't realize how good they were to there animals. You make me want to kill every last Tiger and Lion out there.
danerogil 7 months ago
@jimgrude The soldier point you made is extremely idiotic. You should go kiss the "dumb creature" soldier whos risking his life so that his family can safely live in said country without the danger of foriegn attack's ass. Moron. Why do you think hes fucking risking his life? Because its fun? No, ignoramus, its because hes protecting the country that his "deserted" family lives in. Im amazed you even had the guts to say something as stupid as what you did.
warlockmetal1 6 months ago
@warlockmetal1
As I've already stated, being courageous doesn't make you less stupid!
jimgrude 6 months ago
@jimgrude Did you not read my comment or something? You bash a soldier for "leaving his family", but quite contrary to your understanding, hes fighting the fucking thing to protect the country his family lives in.
There is a fine line between courage and stupidity, like you said, but it doesnt apply in your favor here, nor does your opinion on war. Do you think its up to the soldier if he wants war? No, but it fuckin happens anyways and somebodys gotta do it and protect the country for us.
warlockmetal1 6 months ago
@warlockmetal1
You don't really seem to understand my comments too good either. In my opinion, going to war doesn't protect anything, but rather makes things worse in every aspect. I'm able to bash people who leave their family to fight in a war because to me it's such a destructive, ignorant and useless thing to do. However, I do acknowledge their courage and wish to do good, but I'm not going to praise them for it, as I am viciously opposed to fighting violence with violence and fighting!
jimgrude 6 months ago
@jimgrude I know what youre saying about war not being peaceful in the first place, but if it happens anyways, you should praise the troops for being the ones who stand up. Im sure the troops hate war too. Like I said, its not the troops' choice for war, and nobody likes war, but sometimes shit happens and a country needs defending *cough* terrorism.

@jimgrude the tiger was trying to rescue him, he didn't bite him on purpose.
TheMarleney 5 months ago
it takes real courage to go back on stage after something like that. real courage, and real love.
TheMarleney 5 months ago
@jimgrude The tiger didn't bite Roy. Roy fell during the show and Montecore tried to pick him up like he would a cub. But Montecore didn't know that humans have arteries instead of scruff on their neck. Montecore treated Roy as a parent would treat its child. Had Montecore wanted to kill Roy, it would have taken half a second by snapping his neck.
Kruezoraxe 5 months ago 9
@Kruezoraxe Bullshit. I was there that night about 20 feet away and he did NOT fall at all. I don't know where you heard that but he was popping the tiger on the nose for not performing correctly. I remember thinking to myself that I would never hit a tiger on the nose with a mic. Loud enough to make booming sounds. Then the tiger LEAPED UP (keywords there) and pulled Roy to the ground. You can't try to sugar coat what I saw with my own eyes. There was no animal love there buddy.
LarryBluntski 6 days ago
@Kruezoraxe Also, a tiger being pissed at a human and NOT wanting to kill him but rather get his attention to stop whatever it is they are doing to annoy it is what happened to Roy. He was angry for the repeated poppings on the nose so he pretty much got his attention to leave him alone. It happens in the animal world all of the time. You sure spout some irrelevant and incorrect information as fact when you know only what some shmo that didn't see what really happened wrote..
LarryBluntski 6 days ago
@LarryBluntski Interesting because every zoo keeper who works with tigers and has listened to Roy's story has said "that makes perfect sense".
So first of all, I doubt you were there. Second of all, even if you were there, eye-witness testimony sucks and is famous among memory researchers for being ironically both incredible fallible and resolutely believed by their owners.
So who will I believe? The victim whose story is corroborated by animal experts or larrybluntski. Hmmmmm
Kruezoraxe 6 days ago
LarryBluntski 3 days ago
@LarryBluntski Just to let you know, getting pissed off does nothing to prove your point. I already told you that memory researchers have shown eye-witness memories (especially flashbulb memories) to be highly fallible and resolutely believed.
There was even a lot of disagreement between witnesses on the night of the performance. Eye-witness memory sucks. Especially a memory from so many years ago.
I will believe multiple independent experts over one witness every time.
Kruezoraxe 3 days ago
@LarryBluntski Also, not that this is important but I was 17 when roy was attacked so I wasn't a baby. See what's different....nothing. Because angry comments do nothing to provide evidence.
Also, and this is important. I am currently studying for my Ph D in experimental psychology, researching how arousal affects memory. Data since the 70s has been clear. Humans suck at remembering and they're even worse at knowing they suck. And they always get pissed when I mention this.
Kruezoraxe 3 days ago
@OneWorld4us It's a dopey animal. Who isn't gonna forgive an animal for doing what animals do?
