You do realise that you skip operators have just admitted to committing offences to the whole world! Section 33(1) (a) of the EPA 1990 makes it an offence to deposit waste on land!

This is illegal. The legislation doesn’t say it’s ok to tip waste so long as you haven’t been paid! It may not seem fair but the law is the law! Make sure you get paid up front because this could get you into a lot of trouble. These offences carry a maximum penalty of £50,000.00 and 5 years inside!

The house was empty, the owner ordered the skip to have the house gutted,then just left it there for months, an eyesore with rubbish blowing everywhere. I called the number of the skiphire company,they said they had been trying to contact the hirer for ages, and they wanted the skip back. They told me they would be sending someone round within 20 mins to collect it, so got camera ready....am I sad????!

I have always paid up front for a skip, skips wont them back to be used again, they have to pay to get the rubbish sorted and binned or recycled its not cheap any more.

Well actually the Company could still take the person to court, after all they were retrieving property that belonged to them being held hostage by the customer.

Who, despite multiple warnings, refused to fulfil his contract.

The company would probably be told to repair the wall that you see them damage ... short of that, its unlikely a judge would rule in favour of the customer.
