@CrankCase08 I just feel sorry for Mr Uli - he must know that they aren't being bad mannered just pig-ignorant
never to have found out never to have asked the man how HE says his name and then tried that. I suppose he must think as I do that that is all they can manage !! It is a great shame .
The C1 was my first mic. its cheap, so dont expect much out of it...If want good sound for a decent price, get the AKG 420 Perception. Its $300. I use the Audio- Technica AT4050 now though.
this mic is bullcrap. I have it and cant even use it, the manuel is in french and when I brought a USB adapter to connect it to my laptop the damn thing doesnt want to turn on. it seems this mic wont work unless you have a mixer no matter what you do. it might be a great mic for others, but it sucks for me,
@BloomingCherries They work with only 48 volt phantom power, you need either a mixer or usb interface with 48 volt phantom power for it to work. I have this mic n I gotta say it sounds great for the price. =]
@BloomingCherries Well what I used for mine was, a Behringer uca202 usb interface n Behringer Xenyx 802 Mixer, I ran my mic into my mixer n my mixer into the usb interface, n then the usb interface straight into the laptop it cost me around 100 euro in total. Forget to mention you should also get a set of rca connectors to connect the mixer into the usb interface. If your confused hit me up, I got a video running of my lil studio up, check it out to give you an idea.
@DoNtBeEfWiThEeF oh god, that sounds to much work, I don't have any of that and 100 euros? I'm in the states so I already know that's going to be well over 150 for me, why spend around 150 on equipment to work a 40 dollar mic. its to much for me, I'll just sell my mic. thanks for the help though^^
@BloomingCherries Such a shame, because when you this mic to work, it really does work well. You can always sell your mic n get a usb mic? The prices vary but maybe that would be more suited to your needs. Well good luck with your decision. =]
@kennyjayentertains yes but not necessary. the only thing you need is a mic amp that can do 48V phantom power of the mic since Condenser mic to work. if you dont have mixer but have an audio interface like USB or Firewire that has an 48V phantom power ability you can just plugin the mic without a problem... I hope that helps
@robhay123 A voltage supplied from the mixer (most times ) into the circuitry of the mic normally 48volt . It is used to power the circuitry of the mic itself . for a better sound output .
I LOVE companies like Behringer that give provide 95% or more of the of functionality of high end equipment for 10% of the price I love my Behringer monitors, BCR2000 and notice MANY famous performers at concerts I attend use Behringer equipment such as the ADA8000. Thank you Behringer for helping people GET THE JOB done without selling our birthrights to do so.
I know this needs phantom power so if u use an XLR to 1/4 inch cable will i still get phantom power? CAn you get phantom power through a 1/4 inch cable?
dont get a xenyx thingy, it does fuck all basically, i made that mistake thinking it wud go into the computer, get a tascam audio interface...it will basically allow 2 mics to get recorded into the computer at once on seperate tracks. its really useful, a xynex mixer wont really help u
This big difference is that the C-3 offers omni directional and figure-eight pickup patterns. It also has a low cut filter and a -10 dB signal level switch
1: yes you can but you will need a mixer to make it sounds right. 2: yes ofc.. I got 3 of those mics and i record guitar my voice and drums.. And one more thing you will need phantome power on your mixer. couse this is a condenser mic. hope you make the right choice.
look i bought a USB C1U the usb condenser and it doesnt work, its not the mics fault but yh. look all in all behringer is a sick brand but the quality aint the best. i might buy one of these mics
I have a Question... i have this mic but they say i need phantom power... well i m about to buy one phantom power supply but i don t know how to connect the mic to the phantom power i have a XLR cable that i can connect to the Mic thats it.. can you help me please?
you need 2 mic cables. just send one from your mic to the phantom box and yhan the other from your phanton box to your sound cars or computer what ever your using for recording
dude, make sure your interface and xlr cables dont suck either, i have an mbox2 running on mogami 2549 cable to the c1, and it actually sounds warmer and fuller than my shure sm57 or 58. and plus i got it for 34 bucks on ebay :p
dude cuz it's a piece of shit condenser mic. condensers pick up sound from everywhere. you need to be in a sound proof room to get the best out of it. you should probably just use a dynamic mic instead which sound great and and pick up the sound of your neighbors having sex, just the sound that's in a very short radius.
DanielMovieMaker I have given an HONEST opinion of this Mic. If you use it close up, (as in Vocal) it is not brilliant but OK. If you want to record a Piano from 1 Meter, the noise is almost as loud as the Piano. I have 32 Years experience of building Electronics for Research, so I do understand Signal To Noise Ratio.
You must decide my friend, I just tell it as it is, I gain nothing by telling Lies.
I teste one, and while you can complain about excess brightness and lack of midrange, noise floor is not a problem. If you're trying to record a piano from 1 Meter, you'd better do it on a soundproof environment, because it's not directional.
I actually tested it on the 12th floor and could hear people talking on the street. So, too sensible, yes. Noisy? Not at all.
It is a VERY cheap microphone, but it still give it a 7/10 on sound quality.
Just to correct you, the C1 is Directional, it has a Cardioid Responce.
I am not the only person on YouTube to say the C1 is noisy. Any way it is no longer a problem for me as I have modified the FET circuitry. The s/n ratio is improved by 10dB.
If I get this, can I plug it straight into the line-in of my iMac and use it in garageband etc.? I'm looking to record vocals and maybe some acoustic guitar....
I bought one, and swear by it.

hey, since you think this mic is good, i need to ask you a question.
i am in a 4piece band, and we are wanting to record a few songs, maybe to put up on youtube.
can we put a mic next to an amp, and still get a good sound out of this?
also, if we all get 1mic each, there will be 4mics(obv), so does that mean that we can record drums with 4mics, or am i thinking the wrong way?
