  • This was a great series Jim, as always! You are doing fantastic work, from most of the archaeological collections I have seen blade cores in they are totally exhausted or truncated. A simply inherently beautiful artifact well still intact. Take care and thanks again!

  • Thanks, some of the exhausted Meso American cores have extremely long delicate narrow flake removals, simply stunning! I am back into trying to more accurately replicate them as well as some flint Spanish Cores that appears to have pressure flake removals, lots of fun!...jim

  • nice work i have been trying to get my hands on some obisidan for a while now

  • Thanks alot for this series of videos Jim, and please DO keep them long winded :)

As others have said: You are a great teacher!

    Trond

  • beautiful work,,,what was done with the blades

  • A friend is doing an educational study on blades and cores and I sent all the blades along with the core to him for his research. Glad to see it put to good use. I plan to make some tools with other core blades, possibly an Aztec sword....thanks...jim

  • Once again, wonderful series. Very informative.

    Dave

  • very interesting! Your a great teacher, methodical, technical and precise! As always enjoy your videos and appreciate the time you take to help us out! Editing is a longer process than making the pieces, Thanks for the Show!

    Steve Holloway

  • Thanks Steve. My editing consists of just turning the camera on and off! Thats why my videos are long winded! Glad you liked it....jim

  • That Clovis jig you have would probably work pretty good. Have you experimented with a lever device at all?

    James

  • I tried the jig briefly last year. It works well, but I had trouble with the core slipping in the clamp. I prefer hand held for small cores but plan on experimenting more with the chest crutch and indirect percusssion which seems to have great potential...

  • Molto bravo e chiaro il sistema usato,

qui in Italia si trovano molti nuclei simili del periodo Neolitico-Bronzo.
